Crap .... it's the name, right?

I'm *not* a guy  .... and the movie in the poster in my AV is one of my favourites ... very influential in my early adult life. Interpret it as you will. :catroar:

Why do you think I'm a guy?!?!?!? <pout>
I wasn't. I was actually leaning toward girl.

But I was too shy to ask

And I think it's a sexy name

A thought... I don't have many and they're usually useless *grins* so bear with me?

Perhaps set it up so that, with both author and editor's agreement, they could post one of their editing jobs on a specific thread? Something like: Show us how you edit?

That way, authors could see how a specific editor works, whether they simply fix the punctuation/grammar/spelling issues or whether they go in depth with their editing, making comments and suggestions to help the author improve their writing skills?

Just thinking: it might help the authors decide what they need more, and for those who simply need the technical help (as mentioned above) can gravitate to those editors, while those who are just starting out and beginning to find their 'voice' can find those more inclined to guiding and teaching.

I don't hate your idea but I don't think it's possible to do. First of all it would much too time consuming and second of all I don't know that many people who like to read longggggggggggg posts. I know that personally I'd rather read 40 short posts than a long one.

Then, there's also the fact that not all writers want their work put on public display for everyone to see where they make errors.

Seriously, don't be shy about voicing an opinion around here!

Those who care should mention what all they edit in their editor profile anyway, in my opinion. I think we were setting up less of a matchmaker program and more of a general security for newer authors so they have a choice of editors that have proven themselves as competent in either aspect.

No need to be shy ... it's not a secret that I'm a girl. I just thought I may have posted something that would have given my gender away .... and I sort of thought the AV would be enough to go on.

Now you got me thinking about assumptions.
Copy Carver .... boy or girl? ;)

Rogue: I love you anyway....even if you're a girl. :(
Sorry if I thought you were a guy...I don't know why....I just did.

CC is not a boy...he's a man. :D

I second Jen on that. You may have noticed that we're really just making this up as we go along, making decisions and ironing out the details by consensus. Ideas and opinions are never wasted. :)

But to each his/her own :cathappy:

Ladies, ladies....don't fight over me. I love you both anyway. Just count yourself very lucky...I don't play well with women usually.

Oh, I'm not normally, lol. I'm just very self-deprecating in my humor, which doesn't tend to translate well through the Internet.

So, the basic idea is setting up a "phonebook" of editors, n'est ce pas?

Cool.. who do I have to sell my soul to to get an ad? I haven't got a great deal on my plate editing wise atm (well, besides a ton of fanfic), and I can always make room for more.

That's why Deity invented insomnia, after all.

Wasn't going to. I was gonna share you all sisterly-like :cathappy:

And I do count myself lucky, of course.

Just finished updating my pic thread index... I hate doing that! So much work! :cattail:

We need some sort of isolated blurt thread here

Well not really, I'm just pissed.

What's up, Jen? Are you pissed everyone took off or something else? PM if you want.

Sorry--had a long phonecall from work. The crisis du jour was totally trivial, but it didn't seem politic to say that to the dudes who cut my paycheck.

Glad youre back :rose: I wasn't mad because nobody was there, it was something different - I took RL up on her offer to rant via PM... hope I don't scare her off
