Are you going to a bonfire later?
The village doesn't do one which is a shame. Where I grew up all the local streets would work together to build a massive one in a field and it used to be a real community event.
I think people prefer the professional firework displays now

I remember the good old bonfires. There used to be rivalry between two estates as to who had the better bonfire. They would take several days to build with rival displays. As kids we would be throwing bangers and jumping jacks and fir into the crowds. All fireworks funded by 'a penny for the guy'. Displays, by comparison, are boring!

Well Bonfire Night is off to a flyer here.

I don't want to be a killjoy but after having three dogs, each of them absolutely terrified by fireworks, I no longer enjoy them.
