Unlikely. South Carolina is very Republican. I just wonder what kind of candidate the GOP will nominate in the special primary for the seat.

Nikki Haley says she has no interest, FWIW.

Example, Biden democrats owned the WH, the house and the senate. They opened up our borders, violated immigration laws and conservative republicans were powerless to do anything about it. Border control didn’t require a vote, just an uncontested majority to break our laws and not hold anyone accountable. If Democrats ever hold the majorities along with the WH this republic will seize to exist. They will eliminate the filibuster rule, eliminate the electoral college, make DC and PR states, pack the court, eliminate prisons, defund police, abolish ICE and basically shitcan the constitution along with the senate and the executive branch. Just ask the DSA. 10 years ago this was pie in the sky bullshit but today, not so much. Moderate Democrats are cowards, they are literally surrendering their party to communists.

For whatever reason, Graham's staff did a 180-degree opposite of Mitch McConnell's team. They led with the classic public relations move "passed away after a short and unexpected illness" which is medical-speak for "the jabroni had a heart attack" but Patel translated into "He was POISONED by the RUSSKIES!".

Graham evidently had a lot of friends in DC and in the media and they all wanted to talk about him.

The Turtle, on the other hand, seemingly had no friends.

Trump's version of the "American System" is centered on putting America's workers, industries, and communities first. It emphasizes rebuilding the nation's manufacturing base, protecting economic independence, strengthening domestic supply chains, and ensuring that the benefits of America's prosperity reach the people whose labor and ingenuity helped create it, not merely global corporations and international interests. While it differs in application from Hamilton's original vision, the underlying principle is remarkably similar: a nation must maintain the economic capacity to secure its own future. Given the realities of today's global economy, I believe Hamilton would have understood the argument that economic strength and national independence are inseparable.
 
So the governor of South Carolina will nominate Graham's sister to his now-vacant Senate seat. She has no experience with the military but will take Graham's seat on the powerful Senate Military Appropriations committee.

Fuck.
Kegsbreath was bad, but he had SOME military experience.
Now we have a literal MAGA "DEI hire" who will be paid to learn about the military at government expense.

America's "manufacturing base" left the country in the period 1973-1993.
It will never come back.
The cost basis of American manufacturing far exceeds the cost of labor in third world countries.

There is no way on earth your wishful thinking can ever manifest itself in reality.
