Rise of the titans OOC and casting call

It seems like your character and Jedi Khan's character would get along just fine. You're both similar. I honestly don't know where the GM is. She posted being back from her honeymoon, but I don't know how active she's been since then.

Currently in the game, the heroes have met and revealed to those who didn't know their background of being reincarnates or the offspring of a god or goddess. While at the meeting, Lyra (Tight N Ready - also the offspring of one of the Titans who are evil in this game) sent her hellhound to kill them and he successfully got rid of two members who had dropped out of the game.

Jedi Khan, the GM, and the Wukong player are inactive a little.

DeathsKnight's two characters Steve and Hayden and supposedly everyone else NPCed have taken the hellhound off somewhere for questioning. I think they're at a college library or something.

Lyra has hired the Ares reincarnate to kill them at his leisure.

So this is where we are now.

Oh yes, to be specific, the ones who weren't at the meeting were my character, Jedi Khan, and Tight N Ready's character. Jedi's character is elsewhere at the moment.

I don't know who else may be unaware of their divine background, but I know my character isn't aware of it.

Steve is not aware of his heritage, that is why he gets forced to take actions that he doesn't wish to take.

Ok my character:

Melinda (although she goes by a wide range of aliases and has never admitted to a last name)

Age: 18

Appearance: Usually a fit looking 18 year old girl with red hair, green eyes and a gymnats build. Her clothing is usually practical and comfortable (jeans, t shirt) although she keeps a wide wardrobe.

History: Melinda was raised by a family of grifters. Related (illegitamitely on her mother's side) to Charles Ponzi one of the most famous con artists in US history and William "Slick Willie" Sutton one of the most famous bank robbers she already had a high standard to live up to. She was running her first three card monte games before the training wheels came off her bike and her first burglary before she was in a training bra (carried out on the mansion of a man who had made his fortunes conning the elderly out of social security checks her family tends to favor a robin hood mentality of robbing the greedy and cruel). All this time she thought she was the offspring of a drifter and her mom although her mom made vague references to her dad being some legendary con man and thief.

When she was 15 she pulled off her biggest theft so far. She broke into a stash of stolen artwork containing numerous peices valued in the billions. Over the following week she staged a series of additonal break ins at art museums retuning the stolen pieces cluminating in returning a Monet (that no one had realized had been replaced with a fake) to the Louvre Museum with photographs and other evidence pointing to the original thief. As she made her way out of the Louvre she could hear someone chuckling it was then she met her dad for the first time.

He gave her multiple names when they met claiming to have been all of them (among them Hermes, Loki, Coyote, Rabbit, Anansi, and Harry Houdini) she suspects he is in fact Coyote the trickster of Navajo lore and she suspects (although isn't sure) that some or maybe all of the others may also have been Coyote operating under another name. mostly though she calls him by his Archetype the Trickster. He spent some time with her improving her skills as a magician (in the mundane sleight of hand sense) and pick pocket as well as introducing her to her divine aspect.

Mundane skills: Gifted in Acrobatics, climbing, repelling, unarmed combat, throwing knives and pistols (although she's loathe to use them and if she carries one its almost always unloaded a habit her relative Sutton was famous for). Expert in lockpicking, security systems, computers, sleight of hand. She can also speak Arabic, Spanish, English and Italian fluently and knows enough Japanese and Mandarin to order food at a resturant or ask directions without sounding stupid. She's also gifted at faking accents although a good dialectician or native speaker will usually spot it. She's also wealthy from sucsessful cons and robberies although she rarely advertises this prefering to dress simply and drive a beat up motorcycle rather then an expensive car... unless a role calls for it.

Aspect: She can alter her shape into another human or a natural animal she's familiar with. She's spent enough time at zoos to be familiar with most well known species. She can't change into a form she doesn't know (so she could become a famous person or a person she's spent time around but not someone she'd only seen a picture of for example) and while her voice adapts to form manerisms and the like have to be learned. As an animal she gains their own inherent abilities (flight for birds, echolocation for bats) although she requires practice to use them (common animals that can be found in most Zoos she already knows this well more exotic ones she'll need practice at). She can not take the form of any supernatural creature at the moment nor any animal thats extinct.

Sounds good and well thought out, Just curious as to how Xavier would feel about her before I approve her.

Sorry for the inactivity, There is apparently a lot of work to be done after getting married, and moving etc. I'll try to get something up in the very near future I just have to figure out how I'm going to get my 2 characters out of the hospital and back on the playing field.

Sorry for any delays I've caused, but with my life right now I'm going to be hit and miss at times. I will gladly continue to gm the thread but if you want it to move a little faster and someone is willing to step up and be assistant GM I will think it over and promote you to this role to help speed things up and keep direction when things come up between school work and being married.

I've played a character like her before in table top rping (a game called Scion its a similar premise to yours made by the company that produced Vampire the Masquerade). I'm also kinda a mythology buff and fan of tricksters.

Yeah I am aware of the game Scion, which is how I had partially came up with this idea, other influences were actually the Avengers movie, and the movie that had just came out the wrath of the titans.

I can be an assistant GM and help out if you'd like.

First off, what needs to happen is that we have several inactive people, and they need to be flushed out and replaced with active ones.

From what I've seen so far, the only active players are:

HotCider
heartofcourage
DeathsKnight
Tight_n_ready

Everyone else seems too busy to even be considering role play. That's only four people and you originally had more than that.

We had a new player join:

samanthaswitch

That's five if she's still interested in this game.

Since we have five current players, I recommend getting five more new players. You also may need to keep track of these active players in a list on the front page to let anyone who may be browsing this RP know who is in this game and of what god/goddess they are playing.

I'm going to try and help you recruit five more players and get some organization going, and hopefully, it'll be all worth it later.

As for samantha, your introduction depends on whether: A) you wanted to go ahead and assume that your character was at the meeting that happened earlier in the game, or B) you're playing her on her own somewhere to later join the group.

If you go with A, then you can simply post where DeathsKnight and heartofcourage characters are. It may help the hellhound seen progress. If not, then yeah, you can put your character pretty much anywhere you want.

This game is taking place in New York City, New York.

All the bad guys, tricksters etc joining :)

Understand that I am not complaining, but it will take a lot of very creative writing to outwit the Titans...but then again...who said that the good guys will win? ;)

Eh, it'll just take a good team. You also have a very "clever" addition to the hero team with Lydia being there.

The tricksters aren't exactly evil. I can see them being more neutral than anything since they don't exactly state what side they're on or who they're for except their own gain.

Lydia's book smart but not street smart. There's a lot to be said about having one over the other. lol.

my problem is trying to figure out how to properly reintroduce my characters after they ran off to get the injured to the hospital they didn't setup a way to get back with the group. I don't have much time to post however I can manage time to make a post once I figure out how to get my characters re-involved. That being said I no longer have the time to be the primary manager of the thread. I may have that time back eventually but now isn't that time, so like I said if someone is really willing to take over and help things run smooth such as HotCider that is fine by me :).

Hm...I might have imagined this since I'm too lazy to go back and read, but did uh...any of DeathsKnight's characters offer his cell phone number that they could call to get back to them or something? I have that in my head for some reason, but again, I could have imagined it. I did read the IC I just...yeah laziness.

Tymeless, unless you're wanting to get back into it now, just wait a while and get settled. We can always pull yours back in when you get more time.

No we didn't give her any contact numbers, we assumed that with her calling us together she had our numbers anyway.

Okay, seriously, just because I disappear for a few weeks does not mean I've quit. My disappearing like that is not unusual, and DK can probably attest to that. My life gets distracting rather quickly and for prolonged periods. I could decide to sit down and write out a post, but most of the time, something else ends up getting in the way, thus delaying me. Other times, I could just be waiting for others in the story to progress further before I do my thing, that way I don't end up farther down the timeline than everyone else.

With that out of the way, now to catch up on what's happened in OOC.

Hmm...another trickster, eh? Well, those divine powers of hers are rather similar to a few I have in mind for Xavier once he starts to realize who he actually is, which is only natural because they are both "tricksters". However, considering he's actually a god, and not an offspring of a god, his powers will naturally be more potent. Should be interesting to see how the two interact. She's got my okay.

As for the return of your characters, Tymeless, I've got an idea. How about while at the hospital, Allison could perhaps overhear a couple of cops who are there working talking about the latest "Loki" rumors. That should pique her interest and set her on what little there is of Xavier's trail, perhaps. You could then take it from there and somehow eventually meet up with the others. It's up to you on what you do, though.

So where's the hell hound scene going? You guys have any plans for how it's supposed to go on and conclude? I just want to make sure there's a guide so no one is posting for no reason (for the sake of posting).

Then kill it? o_o Because I can't imagine letting it go when its sole purpose is to kill you guys lol.

You've asked it two questions, this thing is millenia old, it's not going to give in that easily, on the other hand, it might be intelligent, but it's probably not as clever as Lydia, give it a few more posts before you give up on your chances :L

Everybody hold your horses! It's not like things have stalled and there's still some players involved that haven't posted yet. There's no need to rush things.

I'm not asking you to rush things. I'm just hoping you got communication with the other player playing the hell hound and have some sort of plan for how the scene is going to go because it just didn't look like it was going anywhere. It looked like you didn't really know what to do or know what to have your character say because the dog was being so stubborn.

Right so now the dog disappeared, want Hayden to track it? Or should we carry on down other paths?

EDIT:

Just to state the obvious, Master Jedi is known for disappearing due to RL just like the rest of us. That only becomes a problem when we all get time to write our parts and we have to wait on him, sorry master, but it is true. Usually his return RPs are worth waiting for because he publishes a novel on his return :D
