I've been a gigantic CSN fan since 1969. Last month I attended a terrific concert with Graham Nash and David Crosby (and Crosby's long lost son), so my interest in them remains strong.
Still, Neil Young towers above CSN. When he was with the group the material was stronger. Listen to that reunion album they released: American Dream. The Young written material is simply awesome. The rest of it is somewhat pedestrian, I'm afraid.
Last year a movie called "Heart of Gold" was released covering a Neil Young concert in Nashville. Roger Ebert named it one of the top 10 movies of 2006. (I happen to own it and watch it regularly---also it's currently appearing on some of the Encore channels from time to time this month).
Neil does folk. He does rock. He does grunge. (Listen to "Piece of Crap" for example).
I just can't stand by and see Neil Young besmirched on this website. He is one of the most important musicians of the last half century.
