Wow! New Florida poll from Siena College shows DeSantis just crushing Crist among Hispanics by 16 points. Guess the flight of those Venezuelan migrants have him a boost in the FL Hispanic community. And he’s winning independents by 18 points. 8 point lead among all FL voters.

I don’t live in FL but I am aware of that. Been true for decades. Not sure what % of the state’s Hispanic population is compromised of Cubans these days though. I suspect all voters in FL are focused on the Hurricane response now.

Not just Cubans, but also Colombians and Venezuelans, who have seen the horrors of socialism first hand. Most latinos in Florida are right wing, which helps explain how DeSantis won by 20 points.

Let me see...DeSantis is openly and unashamedly racist. Therefore, white nationalists and racists will flock to his banners. He will likely institute more tax breaks for the wealthy, while the poor and middle class will see their taxes go up. But this won't matter because both rich and poor will vote for him; the latter because they agree with his views on race. And many blacks and hispanics will love him too, because after all, his name kinda sounds hispanic, dosent it?
There are also many who yearn for the freedoms that Iranian and Afghanistani women now enjoy. Since DeSantis always touts "Freedom" then I suspect many freedom-loving Americans, especially women, will vote for him, because after all, what good American doesn't envy the freedoms that Saudi, Iranian and Afghanistani citizens have?
His disdain for public education will appeal to Pink Floyd fans who are always singing about how "We don't need no education." And his contempt for public heath will appeal to a lot of people since if a few millions more die due to lack of medical treatment, then it will reduce the surplus population.
So of course, DeSantis has widespread appeal. He should win in a landslide! And of course, even if he doesn't actually win, they'll just overturn the vote anyway on the basis of "Voter Fraud."
