Saving the Don's Daughter

Cara

"Thanks Letisha," I said as she left. I called a friend and made arrangements for her to have a full time body guard untill the child was returned. I refused to have her harmed because we weren't fast enough.
I turned to Felix. "Once Terra and Ty get back we'll hold a powwow, figure out where she is, though I've a pretty good idea now, and go from there."

OOC: Apet, don't worry about it, do what you need to do. I know I speak for all of us in wish you solace in these difficult times. *hugs*

Terra went back to the broken window, his rope still hanging there, in a small bundle. With a small clamp, he attached himself, ready to repel down.
"Terra, this is fucking serious." Johnny was getting up, holding his sore hand.
Terra stood there for a moment, looking down at the dispersing crowd below.
"They'll kill you. This isn't about bounty anymore. They'll do anything to keep that girl safe."
All of this, for one little girl. Terra had always thought something fucking small and insignificant would kill him. He never knew it'd be some no name little snot.
"She deserves the life I never had, Johnny. I'm not going to let you take that."
There was a pounding on the door, both of them looked at it. Something big wanted in.
"All of this for a girl, Terra? Is it worth it?"
Terra leaned out far against the railing, letting the rope catch most of him.
"I don't know... But there comes a time when you need to stop thinking about what is worth it, and start thinking about what is right."
He leaped, repelling slowly to the ground. Up above, a small explosion was heard. By the time two huge thugs with guns looked down the window, Terra was well within the crowd, moving towards the stables.
He paused behind a big buidling, holding some frightened horses. His hand hurt like hell. It wasn't a clean wound, the bullet had lodged in the palm. He uttered a cry as he pulled it out, wrapping the wound up with gauze. It had stopped bleeding, but looked pretty bad, all cut up and bone showing. A few more wounds were apparent. His bullet proof vest took most of the blows, but one had gotten through to his side, a red hot poker in his belly, refusing to let it go.
He'd need a doctor for that one, but later. For now, he just put on a glove, grimaced, and bore through the growing numb pain that was throbbing at his temples.
He unhooked the trailer from the truck. It was dead weight, and just in case anyone followed, he could maneuver the truck better. He doubted they'd have any problems though.
Still, one can never be too careful.
"Mission accomplished. They know it's me, and I'm looking for the girl," Terra drove them back to her mansion. He was quiet throughout the ride, concentrating on the road, and the choice he had made.
"A success."

Ty Lei

::She too remaind quiet throughout the trip home, and it wasnt until they were well away from the track before she took the shroud from her face. Terra had said that the mission was successful, but something within her told her that it wasnt as successful as she had hoped it would. Then again she didnt really expect to find the girl at the racetrack.

The truck pulled into the driveway of the mansion and she got out and looked at Terra as he did so.::

You better go and get your wounds tended to. Ill fill Cara and the others in on what we found out. Cant have the muscle of the team out of action as I am sure we will be needing you soon...

::She grabbed her weapons from the front seat then shut the door and headed back to the mansion.::

Cara

I felt Ty enter the warehouse that served as our home and smiled happily. She was okay, worried but okay.
I meet her in the front hall with a grin. "Hey, Ty-baby. How'd it go?"
She filled me in as we walked to the kitchen, Felix catching the end of it. Terra followed behind us, clutching his hand.
"So we've got one wounded and a bunch of information to compile," I summed up with a nod. Felix and I filled in Ty and Terra while he tended his wound. I looked over at it- nasty really.
"Want me to cauterize that for you?"

Terra looked through a few of the cabinets, finding a nice bottle of whiskey. He gave a smile back to the Cara and the rest.
"I've had worse... I'll live."
He spilled some on his hand, wicing a bit as it seeked through the gauze, and then swallowed a few mouthfuls for himself. They lied when they said laughter was the best medicine, a good bottle of booze would do it every time.
Terra went into the bathroom. He took off his shirt, looking at the bullet proof vest underneath. Several holes were in it, and several stopped bullets, one that had a deadly aim at his chest.
When he got that off, he could see a sharp graze along his side. It had stopped bleeding a while ago, but didn't look very clean at all. He poured some whiskey on it, and inhaled deeply at the sharp pain.
There was a single hole in his lower abdomen. No exit wound, just a slow bleeding bullet in his belly. No amount of alcohol could take care of that. It didn't hurt though, not too much. The pain was bearable, and the whiskey was kicking in, which made everything numb a bit.
He still covered it in whiskey, grimaced, and put on his vest and shirt once more. No need letting everyone else know how bad it was. He had worse, a few bullets was lucky for the crazy shit they had pulled off today.
They almost didn't get out alive.
Terra tried to make a fist with his hand, but couldn't close it all the way. I cupped, enough for his fingers to touch his palm, but wouldn't make a fist.
Well, you win some you lose some.
He took another swig, and stepped out of the bathroom.
"Well, they know I'm after the kid. Whatever price was on my head has either doubled or tripled. It worked, you have your diversion, or whatever it was you wanted. What everyone else come up with?"

TY Lei

::She listened to the others as they spoke of what they found out. The only one with any definate information was was what Letisha had saw in her visions. The rest of the information, though most likely true, was obtained through interigations and most of these thugs would tell you anything so long as they got to keep their hide.

She looked at Terra. He had taken the first wounds for their side, but from what she gathered from Letisha, the girl is suffering as well.

She suddenly felt very very dirty and needed to wash the filth from her body. Also, she suddenly was attacked by a bout of sleepyness. Cara would probably hold her back for a bit until they were sure the mission called for her expertise was needed. Cara had a thing for holding Ty back until it was just the right time to let her loose.

She stood from her chair and told the group of her plan to get some rest and clean up, then winked at Cara and nodded for her to join Ty outside the room.::

Letisha

After making my report, I went upstairs for a little R and R. What I really needed was to spend some time with a female, any female...someone to cuddle and get me through the shakiness I had not allowed anyone to see downstairs.

I walked into my borrowed room and grabbed some night clothes before meandering to the bathroom and starting the tub. A few minutes later I was ensconced in hot sudsy water which smelled heavily of sandalwood.

The tears started then. Tears for what had all ready happened to the young lady we were trying to rescue. Tears for what I knew would happen to her if we did not get to her in time. I was scared and shook beyond what I could even begin to articulate to all the *normals* downstairs. They don't understand the dread visions cause, they can not comprehend.

It was while I was washing and crying that I drifted off to sleep.

Felix

Felix listened to what the others talked about. He tried to sort through the things that he thought were true and what was false trails laid down by the opposition. He agreed with the idea of getting some rest. The last few days had taken a toll on him both mentally and physically. He felt that so far he had let his boss down. He knew that they were trying their best, but sometimes that was not good enough.

Felix remembered the haunted look in Letisha's eyes when she left the room. He could see the tension roiling in the muscles of her back as she ascended the stairs. He wanted to go to her , to see if there was anything she was not willing to tell the others. Felix's intuition was usually good in these cases. After climbing the stairs, he knocked onto the door of the room that she was in.

Knocking at door awakened me. My head felt heavy and the water was now filmed over with melted suds and oils. I clambered out and pulled the plug while drying off.

"Just a minute, please."

I threw on my clothes quickly: a pair of white terry cloth shorts and a white oversized tee shirt. Then I bundled up all of my dirty clothes and went back to the bedroom. I spent a few seconds shoving my clothes into my duffle and then went to the door. Upon opening it, I was a little shaken to see Felix there, his eyes filled with some sort of undefinable sadness.

"Hello, Felix. Come on in. I fell asleep in the tub so it's a good thing you stopped."

I was nervous, still a little off, a little scared. My voice contained traces of my fear. I stopped talking momentarily. I did not want others to know I was worried.

"Can I help you?"

Felix

Felix thanked her for her invite into her room. He followed her in, sitting down as she closed the door. He studied her face for a moment. "Letisha, I realize that this must be very hard on you. The nature of your ability makes you more intimately connected to our subject than the rest of us. It is easy to see that you are hurting badly from this. "

"The others may not see this. They are all wrapped up in this mission to think of the human element. Of course some of them are not human so its understandable. In my business, being able to read people is paramount to being able to pull off a job. I have come here for two things. The first is to ask if there is anything that you are not willing to tell the others, that truly worries you. The second is to offer you a shoulder to cry on if you need it. I cannot imagine how tough this has to be on you mentally. The rest of us can get out our agression and anger with busting a few heads. You do not have that chance. I am here at your service for whatever you need." Felix put out his hand towards her.

Cara

I watched everyone go thier ways before joining Ty in her bedroom. I studied her for a moment.
"You had fun today didn't you, dear?"
She nodded with a sly smile. I ruffled her hair. "You're not the only one. I think its time for a bath before everyone takes all the hot water. Care to join me?"

Letisha was startled and a little awed. She had never had a guy offer to be a shoulder to lean on. Usually guys took one look at her and assumed she was a little hot blooded latino freak. When the average person found out she was still a virgin, they never believed her.

Of course her virginity was due to the fact that she had never engaged in actual intercourse with a male or female. Touching like that was far too intimate. She wanted to lean forward and grasp his hand, something inside of her needed some human contact. Yet, she did not close the distance.

"Thanks Felix. I am scared, beyond scared..truth be told. I see two distinct possiblities here with our girl. Either we will save her or we won't. Both of these things can come to pass. I have seen it. I know that we are moving as fast as possible, but Gods I wish we could do more."

By now her voice had started to tremble and tears leaked slowly from her eyes. She turned her head away and stood up, wrapping her arms around herself to ease the ache inside.

"I just don't know what else we can do. I feel like I should be able to give something else but there is nothing left for me to give."

Felix

Felix watched sadly as she pulled her arms back around her rather than taking his hand. He could feel the palpable pain in her voice as she talked about the situation. He moved closer to her, almost putting his arm around her before pulling it back.

"Letisha, I understand how you feel to a certain extent. I have been in situations before when I could feel that no matter what we did that the mission would fail. Since my strengths are not physical as others are, a lot of the time I feel powerless when a final confrontation is at hand. I have never felt some elses pain in my mind, but my own is probably as much as I could handle. If you like, I will stay as long as you want me to. "

Letisha heard what he said, even more she understood what lay beneath his kind words and his offer of comfort. He was worried too. Things were moving too fast but not nearly fast enough. It was frustrating as hell.

"What I really want is for someone to hold me...just to keep the dreams away as I sleep. Can you do that.?"

She knew that if he touched her, she would be able to see inside of him. She would be able to hear the echoes of his thoughts. At this point, it no longer mattered that it was a man who made the offer of comfort, the reality was she needed some kind of anchor. Why not let it be the one person who took it upon themselves to come to her?

"I will warn you that I will be able to *read* you if I allow you to touch me. There are ways for you to block me if you want or you can just sit there on the chair and hold my hand after I put on a glove. The choice is yours."

Felix

Felix looked at her with his dark soulful eyes. "I have done some bad things in my life. I have stains on my soul that others do not. While I am not proud of them, I continue to live with the cards that life has dealt me. I am not worried about what you would find out. I offer myself to you. " Felix took off his shoes as he climbed into the bed, putting out his arms for her to enter his encircling embrace.

Letisha

She sat there for a moment, watching him warily as he climbed up into the bed. Her heart sped up just a bit as she lay down beside him. Their heights matched perfectly and it took only a moment for her to get comfortable within his embrace.

There was a flash of darkness...a scream long and low....and then solitude. Letisha had no idea what that flash was. She sensed it had something to do with his past but she chose to ignore it. With a slight whimper, she tugged at his hand (which rested gently upon her hip) pulling his arm to a spot just beneath her heart. They were aligned from top to toe and his heat was soothing. For the first time in months, she drifted off and felt nothing.

Ty Lei

::She led Cara to her room after meeting in the hall, and then turned to look at her. In truth this was the first time Ty went on a mission without Cara.

Cara's words made Ty smirk. Fun was not the word Ty would use to discribe what they had done today, but she wasnt denying anything.::

"You're not the only one. I think its time for a bath before everyone takes all the hot water. Care to join me?"

Of course...

::She purred as she move to the bed to sit and started to remove her suit, unlacing the boots. She stood and turned away from Cara, then peeled the rest of the suit off. She felt Cara's eyes on her as she moved, and deciding to tease Cara, she walked to the laundry shoot and sent the clothes down. Grabbing a silk robe, she turned to Cara and wrapped it around her body.::

Cara

"You tease," I said shedding my own clothing. I dropped part of my sheilding, allowing fire to flare around me, directing it to cover what needed to be covered by human standards. Though occasionally, by complete accident I'm sure;) gaps would show in the flames. I followed Ty to the master bath, located between our two rooms. It put most public bath houses to shame, with a large pool big enough for six, more a jacuzzi then a tub, but who cared.
The flames hissed away as I entered the water, sighing in relaxation.
"Thank Goddess we had this put in."

Ty Lei

::She wiggled her arse when she hear Cara, then sat on the edge of the large tub, her eyes watching Cara undress. The flames that surrounded Cara licked at her flesh, and as Cara walked into the bathroom Ty did notice the gaps that appeared.

As soon as Cara sunk into the tub, Ty slipped beneath the water as well and moved herself around to sit beside Cara, her eyes closing as the bubbles started to caress them::

That feels wonderful....definatly a tense situation at the racetrack...

::she tilted her head and rested it on Cara's shoulder::

Feels great to be home again...

Cara

I slid my arms around Ty, pulling her into my body, snuggling her.
"Nothing too serious right?"
She nodded against me. We both knew it had been serious but it was custom amoung us to downplay such things.
I kissed her forehead and sighed happily, the sheer oddness of this current job melting into my subconcious to be batted around there.
"Feels great to be home again." Ty said.
"Nice to have you here," I answered with a smile, kissing the top of her head. "You're just so cute curled up in the water like that, you know?"
She smiled, though I couldn't see it I could feel it.
Pulling her closer I moved my hands to her shoulders and the knots there. I breathed along her exposed skin, hands taking over, massaging gently.

Letisha awakened a few hours later. Felix was still curled next to her, his arm loosely cupping her waist. She had no idea what had caused her to come up from the dark, dreamless place she had been but she was in no hurry to move from the comfort of his embrace.

She wriggled a bit before closing her eyes. Felix never moved, nor did his breathing change. She smiled as she drifted off again.

Terra found his way back to the hotel, after a quick check with one of hid doctor friends. He took out the bullet in his stomach, which was a pain in the ass, and helped his hand somewhat. With a little luck, he'd have total use of it, just a really bad scar. That's always what Terra hopes for on one of these missions.
Collins, the doctor, always gave him some medication, to make the shit go away for awhile. He had a good surge of morphine going through him.
That dulled most of the shit going on around him.
Probably not a good thing.
He unlocked the hotel door, opening it up, with a dull thud sounded behind him. He fell forward, bright pain surging through his back, tendrils of nerves snapping awake from their drugged slumber, Terra screamed out, landing on the floor. He tried to get up, before he even knew what happened.
It was clumsy though, and stolid.
In a moment, Terra was up on his knees, and he fell into the bed, unable to control his own weight.
"Fuck a duck, didn't think you were gonna make it back here, Terra?"
Terra opened his eyes, looking at the front door. A man with a baseball bat, and a cigarette stood there, amidst the stars and little birdies circling his head. He couldn't keep his eyes focused on the man for too long, it hurt too much.
"You fucked up Johnny pretty good, didn't you?"
Terra grunted, realizing in a moment what this was all about.
"No... fuck, no," Terra tried to move once more, but another blow to the back stopped him. He mewled defeat, slinking back into the bed as support.
"Killed nearly a dozen of our finest men, and fucked up Johnny pretty good. What in the hell? You didn't think there was going to be payback?"
Terra could do nothing more than breathe, everything else either hurt too much, or wouldn't respond to him. Hell, who was he kidding, even breathing hurt too much, but he couldn't stop, not just yet.
"How much's on my head, now?"
"Over twenty million, and let me tell you. People talk when there's that much fucking cash on the line. Collins was more than willing to give up a few secrets."
Collins? The doctor? No. The man had always been loyal to him, given up nothing... though, over twenty million, anything can slip under the door. There were no more friends when that much money was on the table, just people who got in your way.
"Quite a price, you think I'm worth it?"
"Yeah, after today's little stunt, you are more than worth it, buddy boy. The boss wants you cut up into little pieces so he can feed his fish, and your head put inside a display case. You are one fucking high commodity."
Terra tried moving his one arm, covered by the rest of his body. It moved, but not too much, the morphine still numbed it. If he had to, he could use it though. He had to keep himself alert, ready, able to act. He would only get one chance at this, if he had one at all.
"So, you came here alone?"
"No... of course not. Guys are waiting outside. Consider them escorts, friends of the boys you took down earlier. They're more than happy to see you."
Terra grunted, "I bet."
"What the fuck were you thinking, Terra? Hell, even if you wanted to find the girl... what in the fuck were you thinking?"
Terra shook his head, "Just needed to get my name out there."
The man nodded, pulling the bat back for a final hit, "Well, it's out there."
Terra jumped, plunging himself into the man. For a moment, they both flew into the back wall. A horrendous crash occured, the bat flying into the air, the bodies jumbling together, all falling to the floor in a weird mismatched playset combination.
Terra went for his gun, as the body under him tried as best he could to move. He started to squirm, then tried to pry Terra off, before finally agreeing to go for a gun himself.
Terra held his to the man's head first, looking him dead in the eye.
"Twenty million isn't enough," He spit, and then fired.
After that, he didn't even bother with the room. He knew the man wasn't lying about friends outside, and he didn't want time. He went out the back, used a chair on the bathroom window, and went around to his truck.
From there, he popped a couple more morphine pills. He really didn't need them, but the pain from the bat, and the collision wasn't helping, pain throbbed at his temples.
He couldn't risk another hotel... and no one he knew was loyal enough for twenty million. If Collins wasn't, he couldn't trust anyone else...
Anyone else...
Terra decided to find a nice parking lot, an old park where no one visited much anymore. He took out an old jacket, and fell asleep in the back.

Felix

Felix woke abruptly as was his usual way. He was never one of those that slowly came awake. In his line of work, you had to be alert most of the time. He smiled as he looked down to see that Letisha had snuggled up to him. At least she seemed to be more at peace now. Felix gave her a quick kiss on the forehead, hoping she would not mind the intrusion. He carefully distangled himself and got up off the bed. He sat in a chair as he put on his shoes, studying Letisha. He hoped she would be able to hold it together for the mission, the life of the that young girl was intertwined with Lethisha's powers.

Felix went down the stairs going into the kitchen to look for food. He did not find anything so he decided to suprise everyone with donuts. He decided to take a more scenic route, hoping that the time in solitude would help him come up with an idea.

He went to a donut shop far away from his normal areas. After thanking the girl, he took the food and his large coffee to sit at a nearby park. He took a few sips of the hot coffee as he thought of what to do next. His frustration was mounting as he could not think of where to go from here. He turned the van on and was about to leave the park when he noticed that there was movement in the vehicle a few spots away.

His voyeristic nature taking hold, Felix decided to casually drive by to see if it was a young couple having some fun. As he was driving past the front, he noticed something odd about the driver. He seemed somewhat familiar. Granted, most of his body was covered by a coat, but it had moved off his face as he slept. Felix stopped the van and got out to take a closer look. From his new angle, he realized it was Terra. He knocked on the window. "Terra, its Felix are you ok? "

Cara

Ty and I had eventually left the tub for the warmpth of my room.
I'd awakened to a small buzzer going off- someone had left the house. A quick video feed showed it was Felix. OKay with me, nothing in the house to eat, so I didn't blame him.
I sat up, and turned to look at Ty. She was curled in her sleep, hand seeking mine. I brush some stray hair away from her face with a smile before getting up.
A quick shower, get dressed in black jeans and a sleeveless black vest that doubled as a shirt and I was ready to go.
I padded downstairs bare foot to grab a coke and fired up my computer.
Let see- hm,mob hit at a hotel? Victum's location unknown, attackers in custody? Something didn't seem right here... I wonder where Terra is?

Letisha

Letisha awakened to sunlight and birdsong. She stretched and then realized that her bed partner had left. With a little frown, she got up and stripped down. Then she made herself comfortable on the floor in the middle of the room. She began her stretching routine while intoning the small spell that would block her from all the energies around her.

She wanted to go out into the city to find out just how much of a stink the hit had made. On top of that, she needed to go to her apartment and place a phone call. She would be damned if the Alvarez clan was going to keep messing with her.

It was while she was pulling out an outfit for the day that a vision hit her.

There is movement and pushing. She can not see, everything is dark. After hours, minutes a blindfold is removed and she looks around. She has been moved. Now she is no longer in the basement. They had moved her to the top floor in an unused wing of the house.

The rom is stripped bare, the windows boarded over. There is absolutely nothing in the room to show which area they moved her to.

"SHIT!!"

Letisha growled the word softly to herself as she finished dressing and shook off the effects of the vision. With everything removed, there was no way for her to pinpoint the exact location any more.

She jogs downstairs to find Cara. It looks like the withdrawal can no longer be made in stealth.
