Excellent article, but I will say that they fo no credit referring to the mating of bonobos as a reference for any mammalian mating/sexuality. They're total sluts, everybody knows it! That's like saying the red light district of Amsterdam is a good comparison for monogamy

I think she was Polish. I never got to know her past very in depth. What I DO know is how she was tempered into the tough nail she was. Her first husband died early and she had to take over his truck route....in the late 40s ...as a single mom.... She learned just how to hold her own and took no shit off anyone. She slept with a revolver next to her even into her old age. She had like 6 dogs that she treated better than any human and smoked no less than a pack a day.
