I think she was Polish. I never got to know her past very in depth. What I DO know is how she was tempered into the tough nail she was. Her first husband died early and she had to take over his truck route....in the late 40s ...as a single mom.... She learned just how to hold her own and took no shit off anyone. She slept with a revolver next to her even into her old age. She had like 6 dogs that she treated better than any human and smoked no less than a pack a day.
