All will be well post independence their footy teams will dominate the world their rugger boys will win the six nations and Chris Hoy will be powering the economy on his bicycle.
Of course they might vote NO but not to worry good old Alex will force a vote every five years until they get the right answer.
Daily Telegraph write up as to why there is a goalfest at this year's World Cup:
1 - More teams have good recent World Cup experience.
2 - The standard of the field is high, and talent more evenly spread across countries.
2 - There has been a greater diversity of tactics.
4 - This is the golden age of attacking football, conversely there are not great defenders around.
5 - When it's warmer, more goals get scored. (Largely because people don't run around so much in the heat so don't cover the gaps in defence as well.)
(I found it on the train! I did not buy The Daily Torygraph. I was pretty surprised that the Sports section was still in it.
OK, sometimes I do buy the DT when the rugby is on, cuz it is the only paper with decent sports writing.)
No mention of brazuca?

Oh, I forgot to mention.
I am attending a small invitation-only event this weekend where Gareth Bale is the guest of honour.
Brazil, Mexico, Belgium, Argentina and Columbia are through to the next round.
Netherlands 2

...

Just though I'd have a look on here and see if there was anything I could get my teeth into.

.Former world cup champ Italy eliminated, Greece through to second round.
Italy 0
Uruguay 1
Costa Rica 0
England 0
Japan 1
Colombia 4
Greece 2
Côte d'Ivoire 1
Greece PK was BS. Same with the red card in the Italy game, not to mention Sanchez and his sharp chompers. Depressing outing by England. Uruguay gets the hottest team in Columbia in the knock out stage and CR v Greece. Didn't see that coming!![]()
God I hope FIFA throws the book at Suarez. Talented player but is he ever a hate-able, disgusting POS. Biting someone is such a vile thing to do, and he's done it three times already in his career! Pathetic. Whatever the maximum suspension he could possibly get is, it's not long enough!
