Being part Oglala, moon time is a sacred time and should be respected as such.

Our history demanded that whenever a female had her moon time she is to be kept away in a special lodge with other women. They were thought to be at their most powerful time and could basically destroy a tribe by bringing bad luck on them. She is not supposed to touch any weapons of the warriors or speak or touch them. If this happened then there could be a bad hunt where not enough food was brought in to feed the people, or enemies of the tribes could come in.

To this day even though I no longer have my moon time, I respect the wishes of my ancestors and my daughters are treated in much the same way when they have theirs. Being teenage girls it can make for some very interesting times LOL

No harm sharing your thoughts on moon time, but you've now made me curious about the overlap between culture (in this case, yours) and the original topic. Is there a body of tradition regarding what is appropriate touching between men and women in general? I don't recall this coming up in all the conversations about cultural differences I've been in (of course, may of those were in places where it was unlikely such personal topics would come out...)

Trying to bridge two completely cultures, especially for something as personal as moon time can create many problems. I was adopted and raised in a white family { I mean no offence to this term, and I apologize if any offense is taken} and didn't start learning my true heritage till I was 15.

In the traditional sense, it was frowned upon for any touching between the sexes before betrothal, which was the sharing of the blanket {these days it is like the giving of an engagement ring}
But once married, then there are no laws forbidding the touching. But during my grandparents time, the man could have many wives, but a wife could not have many husbands. It was also favored that if the wife had a sister who was widowed, then it was the custom for the brother in law to take his wife's sister as a minor wife.

Now this would have been very interesting.

I think your garden-variety white family will frown on pre-marital touching even though it's common enough. Adults can't help but recall how heady the hormonal rush is, and they know how easy it is to conceive children when you're not trying to. (It's much harder when you're trying to, nature loves irony.) I spent much less time wondering over roots and ancestry until I became a parent. Now I find I always want to know more...

I think I am truly lucky in that I don't have a cycle, forget about 6 or 7 days at a time. I'm lucky if I have a total of 10 days all year for menstruation.

That being said, I am still Wicked Horny about a week before the actual day and a week after. I've never not had a lover who wouldn't go down while on my period. I'm fastidiously clean, and realistically, even if they're sqeamish about it, all they're doing is licking my clit and lips, which is far enough away from where the action is, so to speak.

From personal experience, I know that any woman i've been with during her period, they always seem more insatiable and aggressive, which just makes oral that much more satisfying to give.

I have to say that I, too, get extemely horny and much more aggressive when I'm having my period. Unfortunately, my b/f doesn't feel the same, but I can sometimes convince him to have sex, if I can get him into a state where he just wants to cum and doesn't care where or how...
