Mission accomplished!!! I have a rockin awesome team and the Memorial day service went really well for a first time event here even tho that American Legion pulled out at the last minute. 3 of my Marines made the color guard and singing happen. Team members helped buy the flags we were short so every veteran we knew of had a flag... including one special cross made into a battle field cross for an unknown veteran. The books only say he was a military veteran. No name, no branch, no info on how he passed away.
Tomorrow is picking up 33,000 flags set at the local national cemetery and Wednesday morning is picking up the 300 from the little cemetery from today's service before hitting my first real PT session of the week.

Nurse Nancy and I worked this together after my surgery last year. So we have a wagon, sunscreen, a little cooler and hats. I'll be back in my sling so I remember to be careful. Plus I have 4 extra weeks in recovery this time even tho the surgery was a much bigger deal this time around.
How you been?? Things going smoother??
Not really, lol. But what can you do, you just muscle through it, both mentally and physically. I start IV lasix tomorrow, going in for a few hours every other day, to try and keep the water away from my heart.
They're talking home dialysis, which would save me a lot of gas and time, but that's up to the insurance people I guess.

Today's mission accomplished!! All 33k were in before 10 am.
A few of us got in there before 8 am but most got in at 8 and we wiped thru getting all the flags pulled, bundled in 10s and into the storage tubs in almost 2 hours. Last year it took 5 hours.

I just looked on my schedule and I have tomorrow off

I'm back out to work the cemetery tonight to get the flags picked up
and the graves vs the books cross referenced to we have everyone we know of listed.

It did change but I am grounded for the weekend.
I now have a few clean clothes & enough groceries for a couple days.
I sure hope some of you are out having fun for me this weekend!!
