The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Well that was long day but …wow fantastic. I was helping BASC as mentor on one of their Young Shots days. Junior shots who, in windy weather, performed brilliantly! It was a day of firsts, pheasant, partridge and woodcock. Seeing the look on my guns face when he took that first woodcock was worth the 4.00 am start and 180 miles driving alone.

This gives a chance to shoot live game that would be out of reach otherwise. The day finished with 135 pheasant, two partridge and two woodcock.i was out for 14 hours but loved it…seeing 9 youngsters like this getting their first chances in the shooting field is so rewarding!

Good morning Goodness.. welcome to the cafe.. I'm Wonderers wife . I spied 4 slices of Taylor ham pork roll in the freezer .
That with a fried egg on a roll is a Jersey favorite plus or minus cheese. Yum!!
I
Okay but how old was it? I would be wary of the use by dates here….not everyone is fastidious about house keeping…mentioning no names!

Morning everyone. Watched football all day yesterday. Some less than stellar games unless it was your team! Oh well, next round should be some good ones. I really think they should have limited it to eight teams. They didn’t ask me though…

It’s cold down here but not as cold as up there. Stay warm, enjoy the white Christmas’, even if it’s a few days old. The Ninth Day Z.

It’s only 6 months old.. only eat it at home for our June birthdays and Christmas.
We recently inventoried the freezer and now conveniently shop there without going out to the store. There is a stack of mac n cheese containers from a neighbor that will be next up after goloush he making today

I am totally anal about not throwing food away. (Sure my wife is rolling her eyes…)

I think we defrosted some tomato sauce a few weeks ago from summer of 2023!

“Didn’t affect me none!” 😂

The football was meh. But I do like the whole playoff thing.

So as the missus said, I’m making Hungarian goulash today in the slow cooker.

I will make spaetzle (which my daughter called spazzle, when she was a kid) later on. Have a hearty meal and watch something on tv.

Yesterday was the shortest day of the year… and thus begins to slow march to the summer solstice and the longer days in June….

All I can say is there are people who have freezers full of stuff they ain’t going to eat and I doubt they have inventoried stuff!

We’ll see! Looks like promising games coming up.

I do think that they should stagger the games a little bit more. But like HDH, they didn’t ask my “professional” opinion!
Me either.... I think who plays the best should win.... osu is the local team so would like to see them win...but if they play like crap they deserve to lose....

I went to a German restaurant and one of the sides was green beans and spaetzle.... there were 3 spaetzle...I was so sad

Very true.

We tend to stock up on things that are seasonal on the property. Lots of berries, cherries, and apples hit the freezer. Nice to have pies and bakery from our own stuff year around.

Next year we'll get more serious about the garden. Beans, squash, peas, carrots, etc. might need another freezer.

Haven't been able to hunt the last few years. Would love to start putting venison, birds and fish in there again too.

It's not work if it's fun!
