Union Mandated Meal Break

This cooking from scratch last minute is for the birds!
Heck, cooking for birds would be easier!

Okay - before I return to the kitchen...
LOVE the color
Maybe not for a car though??

If you please, sir 😁
I reached out to lillianna. She is ok but sick.
Oh, no! Hope she's on the mend soon!! 🫂
Thank you for reaching out, @Missk_2022
Get Well Soon, @Lilianna23 ❤️
😂😂😂
First off I am laughing at your young’n comment. I am definitely in the over 50 club.
Second, while I can not help the commute to the PG🤣 I would love to include any recipes on the thread if you’d like to have them there. I posted about a few months back saying ubis and it is still true. You are all welcome.
If you PM me a recipe then I will create a card and post it on the thread.
Really? You don't look a day over (what's your favorite number)!! 😁

I've been trying to bookmark the recipes posted since I started hanging out at the Spoon.
Let me know if a post filled with recipe posts would be helpful. Can't say I got them all, but I tried. 😊

Okay, break over
Prep is about 60% done
Tomorrow is going to be bake after bake after bake and some slicing. Oh, and one crock pot. Thank goodness for one easy recipe!
I did scrap one recipe. I'll make that one for NYE instead.
Just did a review in my head.
I may have gone a tad overboard.
3 recipes, but one will have 4 variations.
So does that still count as 4... or as 6? Dang - plus the crock pot... so 5 or 7

That’s totally how I see you now. As the Swedish chef!!

Good news. My mom got accepted by NJ Medicaid. Long saga.

Bad news, I got Covid and we’re hosting. 😕

I’m sorta ambivalent abt it actually. I have never been less prepared for Christmas and I kinda don’t mind sitting around and reading books and watching TV.
My sister had to cancel the family get together because she is sick.... she is disabled so it is sort of sad.

Get well soon and same as you my least prepared Christmas I can think of been laid up for 5 days sciatica in the hip and down my right leg probably the worst pain I ever had

1948 Oldsmobile Pulled Out of Collapsing Barn Is a True Time Capsule

When it comes to classic Oldsmobile rigs, enthusiasts usually mention nameplates like the 88, 98, Cutlass, 442, and Toronado. There's nothing wrong with that, but we often forget about the company's pre-1950 vehicles, which are both beautiful and quite rare nowadays. Well, I'm here to show you an Olds that deserves much more attention: the 1948.

Morning all. The cold kicked in (literally) and illness wise.

Feeling a little under the weather today.
I got this too. I don’t know if it is Covid or not. Not sure how to retest without a doctor appt. I felt fine this morning even though intermittent sleep. Got started on my 6 hour drive about 930. Gosh lots of traffic the exhaust is making me cough? By 10 my throat felt soar and my nose hurt. Now I can barely swallow.
I’m that relative this year. Brought a cold to Christmas.

Sounds like a lot of bugs are making the rounds this year.
For those above the weather, take care and hope you keep it that way.
For those under the weather, take care and hope you feel better soon - and manage not to gift that particular present to others.

Doesn't feel that far off TBH

Yay! Finally accepted!!
Oh, no! I hope you feel better soon!! We've had holidays cancelled in the past or individuals bowing out for health reasons. Sometimes is nice - novel even - to have the celebration on a non-traditional date. Bonus - time to prepare?? ;)
Take care and feel better soon! 🫂

I'm so sorry, @Missk_2022. Is there an alternate host? Would someone be able to take her a plate?? 🫂 Always a difficult decision, especially when hosting the party.

That's awful! 🫂 Is that this year? Or in the past? (🤞 for the latter)
Hope you find a solution and/or effective treatment for the sciatica. It's a unique flavor of pain I would not wish on anyone.

Call a local pharmacy or your insurance company and ask them??
So sorry you're ill. In lieu of a test, I'd assume Covid and proceed accordingly. There are surges here and there across the country again. Think I'm in Zone 5 of the current one? Take care and feel better soon. 🫂

It's that time again...

Good morning Dive Bar Divas. It's that day again and time to:-

Put up the Christmas tree or, as I like to call it, tree.
Do the Christmas shopping or, as I like to call it, shopping.
Buy Christmas food and drink or, as I like to call it, food and drink!
Think of those people I should have sent cards to then decide that "it's the thought that counts"

To those who are suffering at Christmas, remember that it only comes once a year!
To those who are unwell, get better soon.

However you are celebrating, please enjoy it as much as you can/endure it as long as you can. ;)

A bar was walked into by the passive voice.

An oxymoron walked into a bar, and the silence was deafening.

Two quotation marks walk into a “bar.”

A malapropism walks into a bar, looking for all intensive purposes like a wolf in cheap clothing, muttering epitaphs and casting dispersions on his magnificent other, who takes him for granite.

Hyperbole totally rips into this insane bar and absolutely destroys everything.

A question mark walks into a bar?

A synonym strolls into a tavern.

The subjunctive would have walked into a bar, had it only known.

A dyslexic walks into a bra.

A verb walks into a bar, sees a beautiful noun, and suggests they conjugate. The noun declines.

An Oxford comma walks into a bar, where it spends the evening watching the television getting drunk and smoking cigars.

A gerund and an infinitive walk into a bar, drinking to forget.
