Happy Thursday!!! Damn, it's cold. Funeral day. Mom is becoming a source of concern. She called last night at 10:45 asking where I was and why I hadn't picked her up to go. I told her it was because it was Wednesday night and not Thursday morning and that I was trying to sleep like most people in our timezone. I then asked how you make that mistake without looking out the window and seeing Dark. We've had this discussion before, but then she's always had a tendency to believe whatever her mind tells her.


If there's one thing I have learned in Life, it's not to believe everything I think.

That’s a rough one.

Dementia is hard and of course the person struggling with it, doesn’t see it. (Literally). And she is also dealing with the passing of someone too.

My grandpa does the same thing. I was visiting him and we were watching a movie together. He looked at his watch 3pm. And he said the nurse always comes at 8pm with his pills and she never came. I told him it's 3 pm. He asked why I was there at 3am. He finally looked outside and saw the sun and realized he was wrong and kept watching the movie. Short term memory is starting to go, but long term is still there.

It is tough to see someone’s mental decline.

But glad that his long term memory is still good! And that he didn’t argue when you showed him the time.

Plus that was a very loving thing to do - spend time with gramps!!

Good morning Wat, OM and MissK. I will know scan results this afternoon. The MRI was with the new machines and so no claustrophobia. It was loud even with ear plugs and music.

I bought some pickled eggs a few weeks ago. I used to like them. I don't much any more. I may sell their tiny souls to Satan. Then they can be deviled.

The other day we finally 'had enough' to warm up the blower. About 9-10" on the ground. Hate warming up the machine for a mere half a foot! lol.

Free will and all that

My wife (not a nurse, but she thinks she is) would give my parents advice on food or health issues. They would summarily reject it…until they heard it on the Nightly News. Then a lightbulb would go off, and they’d say things like. D has been saying this for years! My wife would just steam…

I guess there is a certain generation that had a trusted source. Whoever or whatever that may be.
