The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Woke up late at 0730 and have been playing catch up ever since. Trash day had me running out first thing to move the car out of their way. Then started the pets and of course the Lab didn't want to go out after being fed today, sheesh! Started breakfast and had forgotten that there was no more cooked bacon but had a pound and a half thawed out and ready to go in the oven thank goodness. Everyone wakes up at staggered times so for two hours I'm tending trays of bacon, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, and pancakes as people wake.

That was almost done when the contractor shows up ready to start work on extending the roof over the front porch pavers. Whew! Sitting down now after fixing sausage and eggs and catching up on threads.

Hope everyone has a productive, stress-free day.

My wife (not a nurse, but she thinks she is😂) would give my parents advice on food or health issues. They would summarily reject it…until they heard it on the Nightly News. Then a lightbulb would go off, and they’d say things like. D has been saying this for years! My wife would just steam…🙄

I guess there is a certain generation that had a trusted source. Whoever or whatever that may be.

Man it’s cold down here…25 this am🥶. I know y’all are laughing up yonder! Day three of Anti-B’s…getting better but slowly. Hope everyone has a great day. On to the MZ!

This cold is bullshit.

I am used to noone listening to anything I say..... it has stopped bothering me... I said something at work about a year ago. Nothing ...all of a sudden one of the docs had a brilliant idea.... guess what it was.... thats right mine.

Annoying

Just met with my fave doc and his office staff....man I live them. They do the work and it shows.... their performance is better than the majority of the rest of the group.... he is a doctor and rancher who practices mainly in appalachia....... love love love him

I am pretty sure I was in an hour and a half meeting where nothing got done and nothing was decided.

Let me check with the working group, the subcommittee on industrial relations, the steering committee, the commissar of the company and grand poobah and I’ll let you know.

Thank you for listening.

Sounds like my day. Luckily most of them have been on Teams and I don’t need my camera on so I’ve been trolling Lit today.

It sounds like you already know this, but you are so lucky to find a conscientious health care provider. So rare.

I had a great Dr.
Now he's doing life without parole for blowing up the head of the state medical board...

I feel like that need some back story. You can't just drop something like that without more info or links!
I really don't know if he was guilty or not, as I've had 4 great Drs in my life... three of which, were raped by the medical board, after refusing to sell their private practices to the local "medical conglomerate."
He was initially investigated and dropped as a suspect, then, he was later charged after a city employee, taking a leak on the Dr's property "discovered" some grenades...

That’s a rough one.

Dementia is hard and of course the person struggling with it, doesn’t see it. (Literally). And she is also dealing with the passing of someone too.

Hope all goes well today, bud.

It did, well enough. That side of the family is weird. The other side is dead, so they're less complicated/complicating. Mom dropped several f-bombs while riding down and said she might slip up while we were there. She didn't that I heard. The service was okay. The priestess gave a homily and talked about how Death is hard. Death isn't hard, it's fucking Life that's hard. I didn't correct her after the service. Once she got out of her vestments, Wat could see what a killer nice ass she has. She got a pass. Most of those people we only see at funerals. I have tighter family in this-here online bar. I had a first cousin - probably 45 or so - introduce himself and say we had never met. I agreed and told him, let's keep it that way. There was a picture of Mom, who was walking by herself at 92, her 89YO step-sister on a walker, and her 85YO 1st cousin on a cane and they did a Little Old Lady picture. I said out loud that it looked like bridesmaids catching the bouquet to see who's next. Someone heard me. It's fucking true . . . . The ride home was uneventful.

Mom also forgot to pay her phone bill so it's cut off.
