The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Up. Coffee. Weather is cold. We're supposed to have roofers starting today. Oh, the joy. At least we should see sun, which will be a treat after yesterday's rain-n-drizzle. I may blow off Friday for work so I can go back to town and collect boxes and tape and sign some papers and maybe ride north to look at an old car.

Glad your blood work was good. Water can make our body's weight fluctuate quite a bit. Could you have been dehydrated?

A good saying to remember - "A pint's a pound the world around."

We used this to educate our kidney failure patients on fluid management. They were to weigh themselves daily. If they were up a pound, they knew approximately how much extra water they had on.
Thank you as that is good advice. I read that as we age, we don’t realize how dehydrated we get. I have been adding more protein like chicken and eggs to my diet.

Aging is more complicated isn’t it?

I will not drive on ice. Once in January, I was driving to work and saw luckily black ice. I slip my stick drive car out of gear and coasted until I got to traction. Unfortunately the SUV came up behind in the next lane very fast. The SUV hit the ice and started sliding sideways. As soon as it hit dry pavement it rolled. I pulled over and called the police.

The whole thing made me wary of black ice. I will not drive on it.
One time when I was parked at the top of a hill, It was not real steep and maybe 100 yards or so from a major intersection. I pulled out of my parking space and that was it. Down the hill I went and no control. I was lucky there were cinders at the intersection so I was able to stop.

65 outside now, dew point is 63! We are in a drought which is typical for this time a year in the St. Pete area. Old cars are fun to look at. Enjoy!
