The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Ten pages behind. Not gonna catch up today.

We got a critter in the attic. Our exterminator came over and he and I rooted around…didn’t find dropping or any sign of tunneling. So, we either have a boog’ns in the attic or something has made it its home? Spent the better part of yesterday cutting back trees and looking for entry points…none found, but the landscaping looks great! Bonus an overgrown Holy Tree got clipped and I’m gonna make some Christmas decorations with the clippings and red berries.

SWMBO came flying down the stairs this morning in a panic, so we looked and listened. I swear it sounded like a bear up there! Literally something walking…not scurrying…heavy sounding steps…😮.

Time to lock and load…

Everyone have a great Sunday, stay warm, recover from illness and surgeries, and drive safe out there. it’s a mad mad a mad world…

This looks like Leavenworth! It's a little Bavarian-like town in central WA. They have Christmas pretty much year round there! 🎄💖

Afternoon, Spoonies
This up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday is for the birds.
WTH were you doing up early on SUNDAY?!?!?
Your holiday decorations are fantabulous!!
My mother would have loved to stop over for coffee at your place this time of year.
I would have welcomed her over! 🎄💝

Either one works just fine for me.
Yes, please! 🥵

Truth 💣
So eloquently said, too. 🫂
Indeed! 💞💞

It's hard to keep your body in sync when you're switching from nights to days. I did that weekly when I was in grad school. I had one 24 hour day/week because I was working full time and going to school full time.
Disturbed sleep is one of the worst things for your health, especially as we get older.

The body heals itself while we sleep so disrupting that pattern is dangerous.

I had a busyish day. Nowhere near as busy as @Wonderer67 or even @Missk_2022! But I'm steadily making progress. My kids will be here in 2 weeks! I'm so excited!

The tree is done. I made some glass globe ornaments; finished them today. Some went on the tree, some got packed up as presents. I also replaced the ribbon on two wreaths I made long ago. They were looking their age! Did a bit of cleaning up in the garage. Put the outside light boxes in their rack.

One of my ornaments. I used a Christmas pin:

The (loaded) tree. You can see the main village behind it. The mountain is beside the tree. I have village people skiers.

Love the decorations: very impressive!

Clunky IMO, but short of exporting to Excel and filtering, here's what the web says:

While most car search platforms primarily use inclusion filters, some offer a user interface that facilitates a type of direct exclusion, removing the need for the manual keyword "hack".
The primary way to achieve a "direct exclude filter" in a graphical user interface (GUI) is through multi-select inclusion, which effectively functions as an exclusion filter for the unselected items.
Here are the websites and apps that allow this:
  • Hemmings:
    • The website has extensive, itemized checkboxes for every make. You can select all the makes you are interested in and simply leave unchecked the makes you want to avoid (e.g., Ford). This provides the exact outcome of a direct exclusion filter without requiring negative keywords.
    • This is the most common and user-friendly way marketplaces implement "exclusion" functionality within a structured filter menu.
  • AutoTrader Classics / Classics on Autotrader:
    • Similar to Hemmings, these sites offer a comprehensive list of makes and models within their filtering options. You can manually select all the desired makes, effectively excluding the rest.
  • Cars.com / CarMax:
    • These mainstream used car sites have robust filtering systems by make and model. While they focus on the modern used car market, their interface allows for multi-selection to filter exactly which makes you want to see. The depth of their classic car inventory may be less than Hemmings, but their filtering UI is effective.
In summary, look for interfaces that provide a comprehensive list of all makes with checkboxes. By selecting all the ones you want except Ford, you achieve a direct exclusion filter result in the UI.

AutoTempest was also mentioned as a site for car sale searches.

Happy Hunting!

Hemmings lists a gazillion makes, and I only wish to exclude the one. On the other hand, I have been on Lit so long, I'm pretty good at visually iggying things I decline to read.

Maybe it is the will of Allah that I look at Fords.

Oh, that Ford dump truck disappeared yesterday. I reckon that someone snapped it up pronto. It was a sweet deal.

No kidding! I’m in awe. As the offspring of a Christmas Queen, I know quality work! I copied the pix and going to show it to momma while we’re on our doctor trip mañana. She’s bummed she can’t do what she normally does this year.

Finally half-assed caught up waiting on SWMBO to get out of my way in the kitchen. Found a Tuscan beef recipe that calls for simmering the meat in a whole bottle of wine for a couple-three hours. It’s cold, it’s the perfect meal for a cold night. Will pass along if it’s awe inspiring.

Since we’re all in the spirit…or getting there, I know it’s gauche to ask for Christmas presents…but I thought I’d drop a little hint…how bout that?
