The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Good morning/ day, fellow Spoonies!
I hope this finds all of you and yours doing well!
I'm so far behind on the thread that catching up is likely impossible and my workload has been fairly much insane.
I'll try to find out how @Missk_2022 is healing up from her surgery...
As always, I missed y'all while I was gone!

Was going to say "Good Morning" but it will be afternoon by the time I finish my post
Still... TGIF!!
Awwww! He's just a young poodle! I hope he finds his tribe out west with the other brethren and sisteren! 💞💖🥰
My brain:
Young Poodle?
Baby Poodle
Baby?
Dirty Dancing
River scene with the dance lift... but with Poodles
Anyone else?
This looks like a restaurant that needs to close! 😱😱😱
I can't watch shows like this... they make me physically ill. 🤢
Probably make me never want to eat out again!
Fixed it! 🫤
0930!!! Who gets up that early???
Wellllll... I do. For work. Mon-Fri I start at 7:30am. But on the weekends, if I don't have plans? I sleep in like a MFer!! 😁
One time I passed out because my blood sugar went too low and I didn't eat.
I get that changeovers are a big deal.
But so are the bills from workman's comp and the expense of training in new workers. You'd think the company would treat you better.
I found a recipe for ginger molasses bars. I have to make them
If it's any good, please share the recipe. I love ginger and molasses!! 🥰🥰🥰
There won't be h000rs.
Sure there will... just not that kind
My tunmy is rumba rumba grumbling
Good rumba or bad rumba?
Momma ain’t mov’n.
Truth 💣
I hear that... mine had been the same way when she was alive. She was the glue that kept us together but also very stubborn and set in her ways.
Maybe some of it. We've been trying to get ahead of this for several years now...
🫂 I hope you find something to get movement.
Nothing like working non stop twelves.
Hard to find time to eat or do laundry when there isn't even enough time for sleep.
I did a couple summers in a factory with a 3-4 schedule. 12 hour days... 3 on, 4 off followed by 4 on, 3 off. One summer days, the other nights.
Was only late to work the one time. Thunderstorms... and everyone in the house came to my room, which was downstairs w/ no windows. They turned on all the lights and my stereo for weather updates. Kept me awake for hours.
Aren't you supposed to be careful of the water source?

As in, if you have a well isn't the water supposed to boiled first? (Then cooled off some, too?).
I use a Vevor water distiller to make my own. You do need to keep the machine and reservoir clean. Does no good to distill the water only to pour it into a dirty jug.
Given the price jump on gallons of distilled water in the last few years - it has more than paid for itself.
Getting close to time to head to the office. Forced frolicking. Mandatory munchies. Directed dietary delights. I’m running out of alliterations
Corporate canapés
Timestamped tapas
Hope the party doesn't suck too hard nor the postprandial meeting 🫂
Good morning/ day, fellow Spoonies!
I hope this finds all of you and yours doing well!
Good to see you @Boat1
Hope your hitch is either nearly over or going smoother

I am ok!! First few days were rough. Now my incisions are itchy. They also shaved my tummy so that is itchy too....i put some jewelweed salve on the itchiest bits and that helped. Right nelow my belly button is pretty sore and bruised but better every day

Don't you feel so violated when they go through your belly button!

It seems worse than a colonoscopy even...

We were Neti Potting round here for a bit. Then I heard something about ameba’s getting in the brain from tap water? We started using distilled water but then we’d run out and SWMBO insisted it be heated and it all got too much…I might be on the lazy side…

Range day! Happiness is a warm barrel when it’s 35f out. Everyone stay safe and warm…is it Fritag? 🤔

To avoid amebas, boil the hopefully chlorinated tap water for 2 minutes and let cool. You can do this ahead of time and heat up in a microwave. The heat and chlorine should knock out any amebas.

Really glad my 24-yr old self didn't hear you say that... for your sake, not hers :ROFLMAO: IYKYK

Even though back then I knew sweet FA about colonoscopies other than what the test was designed to detect. :ROFLMAO: Heck, I've had almost a half dozen already. Pretty soon I'll ask to run the camera 🤪

Looks like short pants and shoes...

One time we had a two week project on a line and halfway thru the first week they took away the second week! We got it done!
My favorite was: It's running, but too slow. Now speed it up!
It's not like you can just tell 250 welding robots and a bazillion lines of ladder logic to run faster.

I can still hear the sizzle of the MIG robots in my ears, eating up those thousand pound plus spools of wire.

Our water companies in the UK are pouring raw sewage into the rivers and our seas, polluting the environment and damaging the tourism business at seaside towns.
We used to drive to the coast to swim in the English Channel most weekends in the summer, but we haven't done so for the past two years.
As per house rules, I will avoid delving into the political aspect, but needless to say all the directors of these privatised water companies are paying themselves huge bonuses for poisoning our waters.
