Today was a half frustrating day, half satisfying one. I didn't sleep well and woke up too early. My nephew called me last night to tell me his dad died.

It's still raining and I'm thinking I might need to band together with my friends and neighbors on a ark.

I tried to go to my dr office today. Got on the fwy and noticed too late it was stopped. It was closed both ways for flooding. It took me about 45 minutes to go 1/4 of a mile to the next exit where DOT was forcing everyone off. I called in and got my appointment changed to 0930 tomorrow morning.

0930!!! Who gets up that early???

I'm gonna call when I wake up to see if I can do this virtual.

When I got home, I took care of some business stuff that needed tookening. TM Wat

Then I baked.

I'm headed to bed now. Because I'm a fucking idiot and scheduled an appointment for 0930!

In this case, you can afford it? Maybe annoying, but affordable repair?

It's those down on their luck single moms, who can afford only junk cars who end up really getting screwed. We have a friend, who I've ended up helping a few times. Sometimes that means even buying the parts for her. No car = no job...

Again, the guys in the shop gotta make a living too...

I worked for decades and retired from and automotive industry in manufacturing. We would have a "shutdown" for two weeks to swtich over to the new model year. It was two weeks of Saturdays because we worked thru the weekends too and long hours. One time I passed out because my blood sugar went too low and I didn't eat.

In a previous life I worked on building those lines too. Nothing like working non stop twelves.
Hard to find time to eat or do laundry when there isn't even enough time for sleep.

Neti pots are great. Nasal flushing can also be done (carefully!) in the shower. Tilt your head. Let the water run into the upper nostril and out the lower.

Aren't you supposed to be careful of the water source?

As in, if you have a well isn't the water supposed to boiled first? (Then cooled off some, too?).

SWMBO is from TX…DiL is from TX with a keen interest in homesteading…we have more family our age in TX due to both gals big families…my job I can switch domiciles weeek to weeek…land is relatively cheap in W TX…not a lot of downsides but one.

I started that whole moving out West conversation with Dr Tyler earlier this year. She knew my plans, and she knew that I was committing to her upkeep and so on and so forth. I told her that taking her with me would happen, and she started talking about what a pain medical care would be coming back-and-forth from out West to her doctors here. That was where she started to argue on the concept of changing doctors. Of course, she could be very defiant anyway. Obviously, now, it’s a mood point. Suffice it to say, I know what you mean.

I did a couple summers in a factory with a 3-4 schedule. 12 hour days... 3 on, 4 off followed by 4 on, 3 off. One summer days, the other nights.
Was only late to work the one time. Thunderstorms... and everyone in the house came to my room, which was downstairs w/ no windows. They turned on all the lights and my stereo for weather updates. Kept me awake for hours.

Aren't you supposed to be careful of the water source?

As in, if you have a well isn't the water supposed to boiled first? (Then cooled off some, too?).

I use a Vevor water distiller to make my own. You do need to keep the machine and reservoir clean. Does no good to distill the water only to pour it into a dirty jug.
Given the price jump on gallons of distilled water in the last few years - it has more than paid for itself.

I am ok!! First few days were rough. Now my incisions are itchy. They also shaved my tummy so that is itchy too....i put some jewelweed salve on the itchiest bits and that helped. Right nelow my belly button is pretty sore and bruised but better every day

To avoid amebas, boil the hopefully chlorinated tap water for 2 minutes and let cool. You can do this ahead of time and heat up in a microwave. The heat and chlorine should knock out any amebas.

Even though back then I knew sweet FA about colonoscopies other than what the test was designed to detect. Heck, I've had almost a half dozen already. Pretty soon I'll ask to run the camera
