The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

I'm getting a little tired of daily rain. If I wanted it to rain, every friggen day of the week, I'd move to Colorado Springs. Coffee, black, no damn sugar. What's up, boyos?

What's up, boyos?

Rain. And more rain. We're never going to get that new fence. Can't dig postholes in mud.

Taking a slight break from two stories in the mill. Three are simmering just waiting for the upload text (title and description), which I always prepare in advance. I've mostly given-up on creating descriptions intended to draw readers in, as there are usually too many things going on in my stories to highlight that way. I need to get into a "subtitle" frame of mind with 'em.

Meeting a friend for lunch, so I'm out of here in 10 minutes.

Went to the box, wearing in-house slippers, and now I have wet feet.

It is a totally ridiculous hour and somehow I cannot stop writing. I've been doing this nearly all week, getting into a groove, looking up at the clock, and discovering it is 2, 3, or even 4 a.m.! My wife is not particularly happy with this. She is an early riser, usually up by 6:00 or 6:30, and we are almost doing a shift change with the bed.

Anyway, the WIP is another in my Barstow series, and when I finish this particular chapter, it's fourth in in my "upload pending" queue due to timeline. I need to get the three ahead of it uploaded. Maybe tomorrow (later today) once the brain fog from lack of sleep clears.

Speaking of classic '70s songs, Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head. This morning's update for next week says 20% chance of showers, or more, every single day. Lawns around here are turning into rain forests. We've had standing water in a low spot for two weeks and I swatted my first mosquito of the year last night. (Got it before it got me!) Next door neighbor hasn't touched their backyard yet, and their grass is now over a foot tall.

Make. It. Stop. This isn't Seattle.

Wrote a great dialog between a mom and adult daughter last night. Mom and Dad had been encouraged by the free-thinking daughter to try an open marriage to rekindle their life outlook, and daughter was encouraging Mom to tell her all about a date.

Ha! @Manu is fiddling with the databases! "Group Sex" is now called "category-7-name". I'm sure it will soon be fixed, but it is funny to see works-in-progress while they're still... uh... in progress!

Have to give 'im credit, though. The authors panel is many times faster than it was a week ago. New server? New pipeline? Whatever the change was, it's working well for me!

We have a sunny, cool day with a breeze. I think my wife has plans for me this afternoon, so I've taken some time this morning to dig out one of the raised garden beds. Manual labor saves on gym charges.

I've written through the rough spot in my WIP. It isn't done to that point because I have notes embedded in the text for things that need to be expanded or added. Those are mostly about environment, some about dialog. That sets me on course to the first actual sex in the story, which will happen near the bottom of the second Lit page.

Sorry I'm late with the coffee today. I've been working on my story which took a really dark turn this morning and I got caught up in trying to figure out what to do.

The new cappuccino machine is up and running and the instruction book is next to it. I'm afraid you're on your own to use it because I haven't had any time to read the instruction book. Instead, I started a fresh pot of coffee and made sure the teapot is hot. I stopped by the bakery and picked up some scones for snacking.

I'll be over in the corner working on my story and trying to manage the changes to it ...

I gave my office desks to my son-in-laws Dad. He's the pastor for a small congregation south of here, and he found people in the congregation who could use the tables. One of them is now being used to butcher goats.

Just got back home. The cats are having serious jealousy issues over who gets attention, and how much.
Ignore them both and see how quickly they’ll form a team…

Waiting for a new round of storms to rumble through today. The grass and weeds are loving it and I wish I could hobble out there to do more than just spray RoundUp on them.

There's a fresh pot of coffee brewing and the cappuccino machine is on and ready to go. When I get a chance, I'm going to learn how to use it, but for now, you'll have to use the instruction manual if you don;t already know your way around.

The teapot is hot and there is a selection of pastries on the counter for your enjoyment.

After a day of thinking on it, I backed out of the dark turn and resumed the story as intended. I had a nice discussion with my Muse and we decided to use that for another story down the line. I'll be over in the corner working on finishing up the last three scenes before the editing process begins.

My back's a little sore from yesterday's garden work. I need to finish it today, then I have one more raised bed to clean out. I haven't touched the dahlia beds yet, and it's getting a little late.

So, we have the drizlings today. Sunshine was nice while it lasted. Plenty of French roast in my French press this morning. Pull up a stool, sit at the breakfast bar, and have a cup.

Dry, sunny, and breezy here. The weather service thinks that might change this afternoon.

I wrote a little then finished my garden work (for now). Maybe I'll get back to writing.

Has anyone else watched the Sharpes Rifles TV series? I just ran into every single full episode on youtybe and I've been binge watching. Never come across them before - himzself has the books and I've read a few of them but I love the TV series - just watched Sharpe's Waterloo and it was marvellous. Only two left to go now.......

Here's the 1st if anyone's interested. And made back in 1993 - I never realized Sean Bean was this good......
