the "ask crazychemgirl a question" thread

Better than biege.......

Cruisers are much more capable than Jeeps.

Blasphemy!

Is crazychemgirl back?

With a vengeance?

No, it was just a photo synthetic reputation of here. Nothing to see here, Move along,

Lmao

What is your favorite chemical from an occupational standpoint?

Sorry if this has been answered in the thread already, I decided not to go back through the whole thread.

My overall chemical family of choice should be obvious, but I really like the versatility of minimally cross-linked polyacrylamides. From watching them swell in contact with water to using them as cleaners, they are pretty neat. The fact that, when emulsified, they generally look like semen is an added bonus (and I can say there's something amusing-yet-terrifying about witnessing a scenario when a pressure relief valve protecting a system let go, mimicing an ejaculation on a 20,000 gallon scale).

I’m particular to tungsten complexes... especially hydrides.

Sodium Hypochlorite is good for getting stains off your teeth. And Beryl is a neat catalyst for manufacturing Cyanide.

Why manufacture cyanide when you can just grind up cherry pits?

Asking the hard-hitting, important questions. A follow-up question: what's your go to fantasy?

North America

A1: Seas are smaller than oceans.
A2: Jeeps have nothing on Land Bruisers.

Q: What is north of the North Pole?
Just check your compass and it will point you south into northern Canada?
Where the Magnetic North Pole is!:)

Is naval lint sterile?

Have you ever known it to reproduce?

I’m guessing not given the amount of bugs that live on our bodies.

Eww!!

Now look, you're a scientist. You aren't supposed to say 'eww' when somebody asks a question about science. Hypoxia asked a perfectly reasonable question, and I asked one in reply. That's the Socratic method. I think. Anyway, naval lint is like a mule: it comes from somewhere, but it doesn't reproduce, so it's sterile.

Eww, indeed. You must specialize in non-organic chem.....
