the "ask crazychemgirl a question" thread

why do we have record cold temperatures when the climate is warming ?
Because it’s not just about warming … as the global temperature increases it affects the weather of the world … increasing storms, cold weather days, hot weather days. It’s important to know how everything is affected not just the global temperature increase.

Or, (with regard to those record lows) it's just the weather. It's a bit arrogant to assume that the recorded lows over the short human history of keeping records are the only record lows there will every be.

Well of course… but it’s important to keep records regardless … science needs ALL THE DATA!

The entire man-made climate change is based on warped science and poor data. The information is manipulated to pursue a political agenda. How arrogant can these people be to assume the climate in their chosen point in time be the optimum or prime comparative point. Maybe the optimum point occurred during the warm period of the different dinosaur eras or the ice age. It is possible that now is the optimum as any other. It is just as likely the rapture starts tomorrow - do not follow quacks! The Data is not obtainable - it is all suppositions and extrapolations based on limited poor data.

Oh, you should. Just tell them that dihydrogen monoxide is fatal in excessive quantities and that they should stop consuming it immediately.
Or that CO is healthy and they should sit in their car in the garage?

Two chemists walk into a bar.

Chemist 1: I'll have H2O please.

Chemist 2: I'll have water also.

Chemist 1 walks away, frustrated that the assassination attempt failed.

Currently in a hotel room and wondering, why does it take up to a minute for my water at home to get hot when in a hotel with hundreds of other rooms in the building the water comes out hot immediately?

I'm vaguely autistic and don't understand this. Is the bar made of metal? Should the 2 in H2O be a 2 ? How can you assassinate someone with water. Can someone explain please?
^^ My life in jokes
I don't care anymore and that feels empowering

A number of possible reasons
1. More people in a hotel are calling up hot water so it's already in the pipes
2. They have a fancy recirculation pump
3. Everything in a hotel is novel and exciting and you've lost track of time as a result

H2O is water
H2O2 is hydrogen peroxide which you cannot drink.

If the chemist had asked for H2O too … could be taken as H2O2 and he would have died.

I’m going with 3 … but I would say it’s likely 1

I'm going with No. 3
I knew I liked you.

Oh thanks.
Good thing chemist no2 said 'as well'.
Would they sell poisonous drinks at a bar?
Only kidding

Chemist 2 was supposed to say: "I'll have H2O too."

I don't enjoy mansplaining.

Thanks T and you weren't mansplaining :rose:
He could have said
I'll have what he's having
I'll have water as well ( which is grammatically better than 'also' )
Same for me, thanks

If I'm gonna go full autie, then why would they expect the second chemist to order the same anyway? I think the first chemist is a bit of dick frankly, quite apart from harbouring bad intentions towards the other person, for becoming frustrated by their own lack of creativity in a murder attempt. Surely no1 has access to much better chemicals than peroxide?

Question to the lovely Jaime
Can you recommend the best chemical for assassinations? Asking for a friend

It's a very old Joke. Prolly old enough to drive someone to the edge of the abyss.

There’s a few different ones that can be ingested without detecting … but it’s tricky. I feel like if I say too much this thread is going to end up on an FBI watchlist
