The Cozy Corner

I have never seen the Red Sox play in Fenway, but I did catch the Beanpot college baseball tournament while visiting a friend at MIT.

It was general admission for $3.00 and I got to basically wander the ballpark the entire day while the different colleges played. I sat in every section. It was amazing. I felt like I was wandering through a museum.

That was you? I just thought you were searching for a bathroom. 🤔

Where is your favorite place you’ve ever been?

My favorite place to be is Hampton Beach, New Hampshire because I grew up spending every summer there. My parents have a cottage that’s about a five minute walk from the beach, so we’d go to the beach in the morning, walk back for lunch (or sometimes take it with us), and then go back to the beach until supper time. The “strip”, as it’s called, is cheesy, full of crappy tourist stuff, and hadn’t been renovated at all since the 60s or 70s (until very recently), but it was also a place that represented freedom when I was a kid. I couldn’t wait until I was old enough to walk up town by myself like my older cousins did when they came to visit. And it was also where I had my first job, so that was exciting, too. And I think I probably saw the first concert without parental supervision at the Hampton Casino Ballroom (which I think is closing, which is tragic as it was an institution- there were tons of famous acts that played there!).

And the beach in general is my happy place - if I can smell the ocean, it always calms me down - but Hampton in particular is home.

Fenway Park….win or lose it’s a great place to watch a game. ⚾

Fenway is great, too! I’ve only been to two games there, but it was a lot of fun and I don’t even like baseball 😂

My beach place is Long Sands beach in York, Maine. 💕
Oh, love that beach, too! We used to head up there at least once a summer so we could rent rafts, which aren’t allowed at Hampton. And of course always got dessert at Goldenrod Kisses.

Sweet….I finally got to sit at the counter and have a hot dog at Goldenrod. Even watched that machine twisting and turning the salt water taffy. The hot dog was average but the atmosphere made it better.

My Grandparents live in Wells, Maine so I’m up there quite a bit. 🌊
