The Cozy Corner

Should I start tidying up CC and reset for tomorrow? Not sure anyone is still here after the comedown from the riveting karting talk. 😅

Does his daily round of vacuuming. Fluffs up the beanbags and puts the pillows back into their nook. The spressi machine is cleaned out and dailed in for tomorrow.

That's that taken care of.

By showing them what a real taco looks like. I offered to show a friend and his new wife how to easily make carne asada tacos tonight. She was "mad" that she had been making them the "wrong" way for years.
That doesn't sound like a you problem. 🤷
Can't solve bad research and ignorance. Especially when we have the sum of human knowledge in the palm of our hands for good carne asada....

Sounds like she's more bitter/jealous secretly.

I mean, I'm not upset - but it might mean letting go of a 12-year friendship. I don't want to be an issue for my friend. He's recently remarried and I shouldn't be in the middle of it. His wife asked me to show them and I guess what she really wanted was validation? I don't know.

You're right. She probably just needed the validation that her way was correct... It sucks that it's such a big deal that it's fracturing the friendship though. *sigh*

Peace offering or is it an untenable impasse?

This may be laugh and smile a little. It sounds like when I was a kid, and would have a sleep over with a friend, the friend would come for dinner that night and for a special meal, my mom always made tacos for dinner.

My mom made the taco shells. She would make them during the day, and have them sitting out on the table that was in the kitchen. then later close to dinner time, she would make the meat for the tacos, I would say it was sort of like carne asada. It was how she learned to make tacos when my dad was stationed in El Paso while in the Army. Everything was home made.

So when I was a kid tacos were always homemade everything. First time I had tacos at someone else's home, I was surprised because no one made them like my mom which were delicious.....and honestly, they weren't as good as my mom's.

I guess it's just what you grew up eating and that's what you made when you grew up. *shrugs*
