As a child, I remember having to draw up Battleship with my brother on yesterday's newspaper.

After I got married, we were so broke we couldn't pay attention. Entertainment those first few months was easy... But you know..you have to find something to do with no tv during the refractory period so I found a discarded connect 4 game and cannibalized the pieces and drew a checker board. My grandfather thought that was the saddest thing he'd ever seen and bought us our first board game.

I love these origin stories and makes me remember when we first got married. All we owned was in 1 duffle bag, 1 medium suit case, and a milk crate with toiletries.

Hubby found a piece of plywood and that was our dining table. We scraped enough to buy a futon for a couch / bed and they lasted a whole month. Turns out WalMart was the place for high quality furniture .... Who knew?!

There's a small hairpin turn off the coast of Oregon (don't remember the place) but it's calls Lucifer's A us. Giving how steep the plunge to the ocean looked i can see why it's called that.
