I'm going to hell for laughing hysterically at my daughter. She is trying out for a play this afternoon. She decided to audition singing "You Are My Sunshine."
I thought I'd look up the whole song for her. She listened to the verse and was asking what it meant. I told her that the person had dreamed about the one they love and when they woke up, they realized that it was just a dream.
She is over on the couch under her blanket, crying. When I asked her if she was crying over the song, she said yes. I laughed. And I kept laughing.
I'm thinking that I'm in for it when she really starts to PMS.
(She also thinks she's getting a unibrow.)
When I was little, my mom heard me mis-singing the lyrics as "you never notice how much I love you." She thought that was funny but made the song EXTRA sad.
Yesterday we were watching a TiVo'd episode of SYTYCD and my 6yo daughter started to cry over the story of E-Knock and him losing his cousin. I feel bad the poor thing seems to have inherited my temperment In that respect.
