The Fundamental Principles of this Great Nation Would be in Jeopardy

Is this some sort of parody?

According to the Obama supporters who hate Sarah Palin, Associate Justice Thomas, etc., one comes to the realization that these people put ideology over everything else, including their ideas of justice and honesty. For them, Black people are not Black if they are conservatives. Women are not women if they are conservatives. They feel they own minorities and women as some sort of entitlement. They get offended when a few stray from the left wing plantation and express conservative points of view. To them, women and minorities are pets – they own them – the private property of the Democratic Party. They hate anyone who dares to be so ungrateful for the blessings of the Democratic Party as to actually choose to think for themselves.

With respect to these Democrats’ views of Sarah Palin, and to paraphrase Father Pfleger:

They saw this woman as a major candidate for the Republican Party and they thought “Wait! This is mine! WE are the party of women’s rights! We should have made Hillary our Vice Presidential nominee, but Michelle said no! And from out of nowhere came, “Hey, I’m Sarah Palin!” And they all said, “Oh, damn! Where did you come from?!?!? I’m a Democrat! I’m ENTITLED! There’s a conservative woman stealing my show (sobs).”

Except that Lavender has backed up her dislike of Palin and the McCain campaign with facts and reasoning in her own words rather than parroting of internet company memos and soundbites and defecting, would-be witty snark taking up multiple one-sentence posts in a single thread trying to pretend to have discussion about "issues."

If there is any negative to what Lavender wrote in this thread, it's that it was too good for this place.

After reading the OP, my first thought was there wasn't a single thing Lav wrote that I disagreed with. It was, by far, one of the most substantive and well-thought out analyses I've seen yet in any medium in re: McCain's VP pick, and I have to say that I enjoyed every sentence. How refreshing!

My second thought was, wtf would someone go to all that trouble to post that on the GB where most of these screwballs won't even be arsed to read it, much less think about it. But I didn't want to say that and appear to level a backhanded smackdown when she clearly put so much thought and effort into the post. So since you said it first, Zumi, I'm chiming in. It is a great post as I initially said, and I agree that it's wayyyy too good for this place in general. Personally, I am highly appreciative that she bothered. If the GB has even one fence-sitter with a brain, then the effort was worthwhile on that level as well.

Lav, you should submit that as a letter to the editor in the papers of your choice. Again, good job and great post.

So, you revert to the politics of ridicule. It seems that's all you have; you are not worth my time.

Iggy list for you.

What a petulant little girl.
So big, mean lavy insulted you and you huff and puff about how she just isn't worth your time and you're putting her on ignore.
Only to stomp back in your big little girl shoes to put up a lame ass picture, purposefully stretching the entire thread out, to leave again in another "I'm really ignoring you this time!" shake fisty type angst.

Of course you saunter back in, again, showing just how much you're pouting, uhm, I mean just how little you care that lavy insulted you.

'cause this is exactly how I behave when I'm ignoring someone who simply just isn't worth my time. yeah.

Maybe her ignore is broken. I know mine isn't because the screen stretcher has vanished.

Summary:

If McCain*Palin are elected, Lavender will pop an aorta.

Ignoring the cut-and-paste clerk is not the same as ignoring the thread.

It was a very well written post. Small wonder Karen Wiki Kraft popped a cyber aneurysm.

She won't be the only one.

I've had KK on ignore for about a month now, but I get the gist from where she's been quoted in this thread. I used to respect Karen despite almost never being in agreement but, with this election stuff, she's turned foul. Perhaps she always was and I just hadn't seen it (been there before ). The fact that she can't show Lav the same kind of respect I once showed her just reinforces for me that iggy was the right thing to do.

But I lol'd at the blood-letting here. Somebody--call a medic....

According to the Obama supporters who hate Sarah Palin

Exactly who are the "Obama supporters who hate Sarah Palin"? Without names this falls into the same branding and labeling that has no merit but works effectively in its divisive attempts.

Against the Iraq invasion, war and occupation: You hate America/freedom.
Troubled by the "Patriot Act": You indirectly support terrorists.
Not impressed by Gov. Sarah Palin: You hate conservative women
Supporting Sen. Barack Obama for U.S. President: You must hate Sarah Palin.

Without specific names to categorize under the "Obama supporters who hate Sarah Palin" it's a useless, unfounded and pathetic bit of labeling. Name names, Karen Kraft, or quit your crappy cutting/pasting posts.

[I'm not voting for the Democratic or Republican candidates since both parties have helped fuck this country up but good.]

Great post

The post was great well thought out intelligent well written very well done young lady (the person who created the original post)

"Sarah Palin is like the founding fathers".

LMAO...

WUT???

Point 1: The founders were literate.

2: The founders are ROLLING IN THEIR GRAVES about the "Patriot Act", something Palin totally supports.

3. The Founders sent a CLEAR MESSAGE about SEPERATION of Church and State. The word "god" is NEVER mentioned in the Constitution.

4. The Founders hated big powerful centralized government. The entire reason the USA was founded was because of hatred for the King and his taxation without representation, and other rules he tried to enforce upon the colonists. Sarah LOVES taking TAX MONEY from all 49 other states and funneling it to Alaska. Alaska IS the biggest WELFARE STATE in the USA.

5. The Founders were for diplomacy above all. They even remained diplomatic with the Canadians after the White House got burned down. Sarah, on the other hand, is in favor of 4th grade-like "snubbing" of any Nation that disagrees with her fanatical beliefs.

6. I tried to think of one thing that she was actually in agreement with the Founders on, but I couldn't.

Lavender's ability to drive a certain Lit demographic crazy is stronger than ever. They like their women Palin-ish. Brains make their balls shrink. Or in Miles's case, disappear completely.

Ahhhhh--I needed that.

Not necessary.

I posted my views on the topic of this thread -- in ordinary discussion format -- and was told that I was simply a wiki cut-and-paste person.

Fine.

Lavender is nothing but a cut-and-paste poster, by the exact same logic, supported by the exact same facts.

Got it?

The issue was the ideology of the founding fathers. I posted an opinion that a closer look at the founding fathers' ideology would reveal something much closer to Palin's philosophy than Obama's. I began with classical liberalism and was moving on the Thomas Jefferson and the agrarian metaphor but was dismissed as a wiki cut-and-paster -- an example of all that is wrong with public education in America.

I was mistaken, in that I thought Lavender was proposing a late-night topic for conversation. I didn't realize that the thread was nothing more than a yeah-yeah rally. Once I saw this, I realized I was in the wrong place.

I like pie.
