The Guardian (Closed)

They travel for what seems forever. Agis remembers this trip being so much quicker as a unicorn stallion. Only this time he dares not attempt a change. His fear would be loss of what control remains iver his conscience being.

He can hear a small brook off to their left. He knows it's not much further now. Stopping on the trail, he looks off to the brook and the coolness of it's running water. "It's not much further now. Let's take a little breather and get a drink down at the stream."

Agis approaches the running water with caution. Given their relative location to the old oak and the fact they travelled all day, he did not want any surprises. Satisfied, he motions for Mirela to join him.

He scoops two large handfuls of cold water inside hus cupped palms. He splashes the water upon his face before running his finger through his long white hair. The cold mountain run off washes over his chest and stomach causing his abdomen to contract. "Drink my love, it's fine."

The travel was also noticeably longer to Mirela as well, who had been riding atop Agis in his stallion form before. If it meant that he was able to remain in his current form however, she did not mind the extra time or effort that it took, though she was eager to retrieve his heart and escape the forest before the Spirit realized what he had planned.

She found herself more on edge than before due to this, not able to fully relax and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings as she had on their journey the previous day. When he stopped and stepped off the trail, she hesitated to follow at first, eager to continue on their way and not delay, but at his coaxing she relented and followed him to the water's edge. She watched as he took a drink and splashed his face, her eyes following the trail of the droplets running down his body and feeling the way that her own body reacted in response to the sight of his muscles contracting.

"Drink my love, it's fine."

Her eyes returning to his face she felt her cheeks warm a bit with embarrassment, knowing she must have been staring and wondering if he'd noticed. Kneeling down beside the brook, she cupped both of her hands and dipped them down into the clear moving water, bringing it to her lips and taking a long drink.

She had not realized how thirsty she'd become from their walk until that moment. Dipping her hands back down she drank from the stream again, then used what moisture was left on her hands to press against her cheeks and forehead to cool herself, then the back of her neck as well.

He could not help himself. The sight of Mirela cooling herself in the cool mountain brook hypnotized him. He smiles in her direction, knowing the choice of choosing her over his vow to the spirit was what he wanted. His only regret is placing Mirela in harms way.

Agis dips his large hand inside the water, lifting it before drizzling the water on the back of her neck. Once empty, he runs his cool hand over her slightly red cheeks, feeling the warmth if tge days walk on her face. He smiles at her as his hand lifts her chin up so he can see her face.

His thumb brushes over her lips, wetting them with the small amout of water left on his hand. "I'm happy you are beside me," he tells her before leaning in and kissing her gently on the lips.

He looks around the wooded area, lots of low hanging branches and leaves. With the forest growing dim, Agis knows sunset isn't very far off, neither is the cool night air. "We should probably get some rest before continuing in the morning. I'll clear us place to rest."

Agis stands up, pulls her cloak from his waist and places it on the ground just up from the creek. He sets off in the immediate area, well within sight of Mirela, naked and in search of a place to bed down for the evening. He begins to gather large leaves before finding and clearing an area of rocks and sticks. He first makes a large bedded area from banana leaves before constructing a simple A-frame shelter to protect from he wind.

"We probably shouldn't build a fire tonight. The least amount of attention, the better." He explains as he lays a bundle of bananas on the cloak. "I found these. They should help tonight and in the morning."

The cool mountain spring water trickling over the back of her neck Mirela had given a slight shiver as she'd felt her nipples harden beneath her dress in response to the sudden coldness, a smile coming over her lips as Agis tipped up her chin and ran his thumb over them.

"I'm happy you are beside me,"

Her smile grew and she leaned forward to accept his kiss.

"Me too," she replied softly.

When he announced that he thought they should stop and rest for the night and that he would clear a place for them she nodded in agreement, her turn to watch him now as he rose and removed the cloak from around him before walking just a little ways away. She watched as he gathered leaves and cleared a space for them, then built them a shelter for the night, fascinated not only by the skill of his work but also by how his body moved as he completed the task, his muscles stretching and flexing with each motion. As he finished and moved back towards the cloak she rose to meet him, smiling as he set down the bananas.

"It looks like you thought of everything," she replied, her smile wavering a bit with worry as she added, "Do you think she would try to find us again?"

Sitting back beside her, pulling a couple bananas from the bunch, Agis hands one to Mirela. "Hard to say. She did release her hold on me. I'm assuming so I take you home as I requested." He takes a large bite and looks over at her. "Let's not worry about that now."

Looking at Mirela, even after everything they have gone through, she remains the most beautiful woman he has ever layed eyes on. Swallowing his bite of banana, the dropping the remainder to the grass, he reaches over and grabs her beneath the chin. Their lips meet as he kisses her deeply.

The hunger he had for her the night before quickly returns. Agis's hand moves down, gripping her breast firmly and rather roughly inside his hand. His kiss becomes more and more passionate, as he tugs at her dress, finally freeing her tit to his hand.

The large hand cups her breast, then squeezes the warm fleash within in grasp. Moans and deep, hallow groans emit from his throat and chest as Agis moves to her neck, licking and tasting the sweat on her skin from the days journey. His long, thick cock lays against his thigh, hardening rapidly as he feels her nipple swell against his hand.

"Let's not worry about that now."

Mirela had given a little nod in reply as she'd looked down at the banana he had given her and turned it over in her hands, wanting to focus on enjoying this moment here with Agis but also wondering how she was supposed to push such a thing from her mind after what had happened the night before. Apparently he answered that question for her though, for when he lifted her chin and began to kiss her again, his hand gripping and caressing her breast and then his mouth moving to her neck, soon all that seemed to fill her thoughts was how good he was making her feel and how badly her body craved his own.

She shivered as she felt his tongue running over her neck, gasping at the feel of his hand squeezing her breast and her hard nipple brushing against his rough palm. Instinctively her body arched and pressed into his touch, pressing out her chest into his hand and her head arching to the side to give him free reign of her neck.

"Agis.." she breathed, turning herself towards him and moving closer, her hands moving to touch and caress him in return.

Her hands splayed out over his naked chest, running across it and down his sides, reveling in the feel of his hot skin beneath her palms.

Agis..

Her words taper off in his clouded mind. The feel of her body reacting to his touch is intoxicating to say the least. There is something different this time, almost as if she is afraid.

With a final kiss on Mirela's collar bone, Agis sits back upright and stares into her eyes. He knows what troubles her, it is impossible for him to deny that it does him as well. He removes his hand from her breast before running touching her cheek.

"I know. You are right. This is not the time nor place." He assures her, "We should rest."

Agis lays back beside her on the bedding of leaves he had created. Naked and cock half erect, he shifts his body on the leaves as he runs his hand up and back down Mirela's back. "Lay back, get some rest."

As he'd lifted his head and looked into her eyes it was as if he'd been able to read her thoughts through her gaze, sense her worry despite her obvious arousal.

"I know. You are right. This is not the time nor place." He assures her, "We should rest."

She wanted him, that was undeniable, but she was also afraid of what the Spirit might do if she were to catch them in the act again. Would she take away Agis' form and turn him on her again? Would he be able to stop himself a second time?

"Lay back, get some rest."

She felt his hand running up and down her back, easing some of the tension from her. She tried to push the unpleasant thoughts of the night before from her mind as he laid down with him within the shelter that he had built for them, settling down upon the blanket of glossy, green banana leaves and stretching out beside him. She moved closer, pressing up against his side and draping her arm across his chest as she settled in for the night, breathing a sigh as she relaxed even more at the feel of him so close.

"How close are we now to your heart?" she asked him quietly, her hand sliding softly over his chest absentmindedly, looking forward to the moment when she would be able to feel it beating there.

Mirela's soft hand rubbing his chest, Agis closes his eyes as he focuses on her touch. He grows harder with each brush of her finger.

"How close are we now to your heart?"

"Not far, about half an hour or so." He answers her question in a soft, calm voice, "Rest love." He pets her head, kissing her forehead.

As the forest grows darker, Agis looks upon the face of Mirela. She lay inside the shelter, protected from the elements and hidden from view. He slips quietly from the shelter before standing upright and stretching his body. He leans back in, placing her cloak over her before starting back towards the trail.

Agis makes good time on his journey to the oak tree. He pauses just outside the hallow, looking around nervously before entering. He knew where it was kept. It was placed in a woven basket of vines and suspended from the ceiling of the hallow trunk.

His hand grasp the hanging vine, pulling until it breaks free from the tree trunk. He does not remove it, only wraps his arms around the encased heart, hugging it, pressing it firmly against hi chest. He never thought it would be his again.

Suddenly, his chest feels of fire. The burning pain is unrelenting as the cage begins to crumble in his arms. He screams out in pain as he falls backwards from the oak tree , gripping his chegst in agony as his body reclaims his heart.

As Agis screamed out in pain and fell back from the oak tree as his body reclaimed his heart the wind in the trees quickly began to rise, a sudden loud crack of lightning streaking through the sky just overhead, the sound seeming to thunder and echo through the entire forest.

-----

Back at the shelter where he'd left her, Mirela awoke with a jolt at the sound, reaching out for him in the dark and feeling a sense of dread when she did not find him there and felt the cloak around her instead.

"Agis?" she called out, hoping that her gut feeling was wrong, but when she heard no answer she grew more afraid, rising and crawling out of the shelter to stand at its entrance, shouting out into the night, "Agis!"

-----

Back at the old oak tree the wind blew and more lighting cracked. Suddenly as the light flashed overhead there stood before Agis once more the Spirit, her eyes flashing even more angrily than the lightning.

"Agis.. what have you done?!" she demanded accusingly, her hand clutching at her own bosom as if she too had felt the burning within his chest.

"Taking back what doesn't belong to you!" Agis yells out, rolling on the ground in sheer agony. Then suddenly with a low thump, the pain begins to subside. With a second thump, Agis opens his eyes to the stars and smiles widely.

He sits up before climbing to his feet, standing before the Spirit without a shred of clothing to cover himself. "I took it back! You did not deserve it!" He yells back at her with a new found confidence. He knows she possess the power to kill him.

The Spirit's eyes go wide with surprise at Agis' blatant defiance as he stands before her. She is quite a bit taller than Mirela, though still not as tall as he is, and she has to look up to meet his gaze, but even so her entire body radiates with power and authority.

"How dare you! Have you forgotten who you are speaking to?!" she demands, the wind rising around them, her long auburn locks and his white billowing in the wind as the branches of the trees thrash about above their heads, "No one is more deserving of it than I am!"

Agis shields his face from the fly debris as the winds picked up around him. He stands as strong as he can, arm covering his eyes as he leans in, then drops to a knee to combat the mass of wind. His thoughts immediately go to Mirela. He left her a little ways from here and is now concerned for her well being.

"No one is more deserving of it than I am!"

Wiith those words, Agis stands back on both legs. His long white hair whipping as his body is pelted with stones and sand. "You abused it! Made me to crawl upon my belly and live as a beast! All for your pleasure! No more!! Kill me! Kill me if you must!"

"Kill me! Kill me if you must!"

"I should do just that for your breaking of your vows to me!" the Spirit threatened.

It was then however that she paused as a thought dawned on her, lighting within her eyes as she looked at him standing before her, so proud and defiant and rising above her. She knew how she could bring him back down low.

"But where would the punishment really be in that?" she mused aloud to him, malice shining in her eyes, "Sure, I could make your death painful, but then it would be over. No, if I killed you it would not be you but your love that truly suffered as she mourned you, doomed to live out her existence without you."

Cocking her head she scented the blowing wind, locating the direction of the woman. She wasn't far away. Looking back at Agis she smirked.

"No.. I know exactly what your punishment will be my Guardian."

And with that she was gone.

Agis stands his ground, feeling the warmth of the blood as it once again courses his veins. His strength returning with each beat.

He is prepared for her wrath, mentally atleast. To return from this confrontation was something he knew was not possible. He suspects the Spirit is far more powerful and vengeful than he could ever be. With clinched fist, a swollen chest, he stands his ground. Defiant to the end if need to be.

Her anger seems to suddenly change course, redirected elsewhere. Her words of punishment and suffering sends his thoughts to Mirela, the one he truely loves.

"No.. I know exactly what your punishment will be my Guardian."

As she vanishes before his very eyes, Agis looks around before his gaze drops to the ground infront of him. "Mirela!"

His feet tough from hundreds of years allow Agis to sprint through the wooded areas. His muscles flex and tighten with each stride. Every inch of his bare skin wet from the sweat that piurs from his pores.

"MIRELA!!!" he calls every few strides.

Back at the shelter Mirela shouted out for Agis as well, trying to call his name out over the sound of the sudden storm-like winds and thunder. She took a few steps forward, her eyes searching for him as best she could by the moonlight.

"AGIS!!" she shouted out into the wood, wanting to go and look for him but not knowing her way well enough in the dark and not knowing in which direction he had gone.

She began to fear the worst. The wind and lighting seemed to be growing now, moving closer, sounding like a sudden furious storm when before when the two of them had fallen asleep the skies had been clear and peaceful.

"AGIS, WHERE ARE YOU?!!"

"He is on his way..." came a familiar voice suddenly from behind Mirela, causing her to jump and whirl around with surprise.

Fear for her love filling her, Mirela surprised herself with her boldness as she demanded of the Spirit, "Why is he not here?! What have you done to him?!"

The Spirit smirked and gave a little laugh at her outburst.

"He is fine, I have not harmed him at all. Though it is not him that you should be worried about little mortal..."

Suddenly a pack of wolves emerged from the edge of the clearing behind the Spirit, their ears back and their fangs bared with deep growls as they stalked forward, eyes fixed on Mirela.

"Since Agis is no longer under my control I was forced to call upon some of my other pets to help me show him the error of his ways..."

With that the pack suddenly lunged forward, forcing Mirela to turn and flee as fast as she was able, running blindly into the wood and into the dark to try and escape them while the Spirit's disembodied laugh echoed through the branches overhead. Fast as they were they likely could have caught and killed her instantly, but what she did not realize as she ran and stumbled over branches and around trees through the dark was that the pack was being used to herd her, pushing her deeper and deeper to the center of the wood, to the heart of it, where its trees were denser and the spirits magic was old.

Nearing the area he gad left Mirela, the winds were strong as lightening streaks across the early morning sky. "MIRELA!!!!" Agis calls out again as he come to the place they had rested for the night.

Kicking and throwing the weak shelter around, desperately searching for her. Fear grows within him. What has this Spirit done? Where is Mirela?

Standing amongst the banana leaves, Agis looks for signs. Signs he hoped he would not find. In the distance, howls and barking chatters can be heard. The blood pumping through him feels like fire as his anger grows.

"Mirela!!" He calls out without an answer.

"Spirit!!" He screams in anger.

He sprints in the direction of the howls from the wolves. His speed and strenght appear to grow as he runs through the woods, leaping over downed trees and jumping over creeks and streams. Agis finds his progress slowed once he reaches a more dense jungle. The noise of the pack much closer as he pulls himself past each tree.

He finds himself within a densely packed area. Very old trees and vines, large stumps and undergrowth dominate the surroundings. Agis has never been here, he would definitely remember if he had.

"MIRELA!!!" he calls out in desperation.

The trees become closer and closer together, vines hanging down and obstructing her path, the undergrowth high and hard to push through. Suddenly Mirela finds her path blocked by a large tree in front of her, the vines and brush and growling wolves pinning her in on all sides.

"MIRELA!!!"

Somehow over the howling wind and the sound of the wolves, off in the distance somewhere she hears Agis' voice calling for her.

"AGIS!!!" she calls back to him, trying to move towards the sound, but one of the wolves snapping his jaws at her and forcing her back up against the tree.

Suddenly the vines hanging down begin to move, wrapping and crawling up like snakes around her arms and legs and pulling her back against the truck, pinning her to it as they begin to surround her. In horror she lets out a scream before suddenly the Spirit stands before her again, hand clamping down over her mouth.

"Uh uh uh, we'll have none of that," she teases with a cruel smirk as she chuckles at the wide eyed Mirela.

It was faint, but the voice calling his name was familiar and the one he had hoped to hear. He begins working his was in the direction of Mirela's call. Pulling and tugging, forcing himself through the undergrowth.

Deeper and deeper into the woods, the sounds of wolves grow closer. He is certain he is on the correct path. The sharp yelps and piercing howls ride the strong winds as he is convinced she is near.

Stepping into the smallest of clearings, Agis witnesses Mirela strung against a tree, bound with vines as the Spirit is before her. He takes pause, looking around, scanning his immediate area before deciding to confront her.

"Spirit!!!" He yells at the top of his voice, "Release her!"

He stand a few feet away, the spirit seperating the two of them. His naked body sweaty and scrapped. Blood running down his chest and thighs from low hanging branches and thorns.

"I am sorry for this little mortal, for it seems as if you truly were innocent in all of this," the Spirit had explained to Mirela as the vines had continued to wrap around the young woman's body, her hand remaining over her mouth so that she could not scream again, "But Agis must pay for his betrayal to me, and ending you seems to be the most certain way to do so."

One of the vines began to wrap its way around Mirela's throat and she leaned in to whisper into the woman's ear.

"You should consider it a mercy actually, for your pain will be much more short lived than his.. we shall see how much he likes having his heart back once it is broken."

It was then that she heard his cry from behind her.

"Spirit!!! Release her!"

She turned around to face him, her hand falling away from Mirela as she did so. She grinned at the scratched and bloody sight of him

"Now why would I do that?" she taunted as the wolves drew in closer between Agis and herself, their teeth bared, "I think she makes a lovely contribution to my wood right where she is."

Mirela tried to struggle against he vines, but they only grew stronger and thicker around her, the vine around tightening as she tried to call out to him again. "Agis!...Don't..."

"It's not her who betrayed you!" He yells his response.

Agis is well aware of the dangers moving between him and the Spirit. The wolves teeth on full display as they position themselfs in her defense. His senses seems to be heightened within her presence. Something Agis did fear and hoped he could fight through.

His head pounds in pain as his body seems to swell. He forces from his thoughts. "I will not allow this! I no longer belong to you!" He screams in defiance and pain as he feels bones hreaking inside him.

His fist clinch tightly closed, boold and sweat pooling amongst the dry leaves at his feet. Agis diverts his attention for a moment to Mirela. Bound by the long vines of the old growth forest, he could barely make out her shape. He knew she was there, her eyes told him so.

"Spirit," he call out to her, "I will forever be apart of this forest, but not for you, not as your slave!"

As he spoke those words, Agis drops to the ground as fur began to cover his naked body. His skull cracking and swelling as his head doubles in size and large horns begin to rip through his skin. With large breaths, steam pours from his oversized nostrils and stands upright on two hooved feet.

"No more!" Agis yells his protest.

He stands before them all, a menacing tower of muscle and strenght. In his thousand years within this forest, never had he become a Minotaur.

"Agis!" Mirela cried out in shock as she watched him change form right before her very eyes into a creature that she had only heard stories about before the vine around her throat tightened and she found herself struggling for breath.

The Spirit too found herself surprised by the change, not having expected it of him, knowing how difficult and painful it must have been for him.

"Impressive," she admitted, "But it will not be enough to save her."

Without another word on her part the wolves suddenly sprung forward and lunged in attack towards him, sensing the Spirit's will as she sent it to them and immediately acting upon it.

Her scream of his name fuels his blood. He feels his heart thump strong inside his chest as he watched the vines muffle her cries.

Agis feels a difference within this form. It's almost empowering and stronger than any form before. Large, steamy clouds exit his nostrils as a rage built inside him, a rage he found himself in control of.

As Mirela disappeared within the vines, the wolves attack did little to surprise him. A leaf shaking roar bellowed from deep inside him and the ground shook from his hooves pounding to meet them head on. With a drop of his massive head, the large horns that adorned his head lower, striking the first wolf and sending him against the nearest tree. Large, sharp nailed hands swung towards the next wolf. Missing with his powerful blow, his fist strikes a tree, tearing a chunk from the trunk. The tree begins to tilt and crack before falling to the ground in a screaming crash.

"SPIRIT!!" Agis calls out to her once more. "Let her go!"

Distracted, a wolf jumps to his back, biting down on the tough hide around his massive shoulder. Agis struggles, reaching and clawing desperately, in an attempt to remove him.

He continues his plea, "Spirit!! Release her now!"

The vines completely covered Mirela now, blocking her vision of everything around her, the sounds of Agis' fight with the wolves filling her ears as she tried to gasp and fight for breath, her eyes drifting shut as she began to lose consciousness.

The Spirit, who had cried out with surprise and outrage as Agis had torn a chunk from one of her trees and sent it crashing to the forest floor stood by, hearing the struggles of Mirela beside them, but seemingly completely unfazed by them or by Agis' pleas to release her.

"Certainly not! I'd warned you that there would be consequences if you disobeyed me again, Agis," she replied with a glare as he struggled with the wolf, "If you had taken her back to the village where she belongs there would be no need for this now... you brought this upon her."

With a final stretch, Agis finds the nap of the wolfs neck and slings it across the ground, sliding troygh the dirt to the Spirits feet. He drops to his knees and fist. His breathing labored as exhaustion from the battle sets in.

Looking down at the ground, he pleas yet again. "Do not kill her Spirit, please..."

The large menacing beast began to shrink, his body contorting as he screams out again. Just as the long horns fall to the forest floor, Agis falls to his stomach.

Agis lifts his head to the spirit, tears in his eyes, "please don't. I love her."
