worse comes to worst, I'll pinch his current one and the one on his profile and we'll just do it. What should the thread be called?

My thoughts:

DGE: Dear God...Exquisite

DeepGreenEyes eye candy

For all the well deserving ladies of Lit, something to perv on

Breathtaking yummy goodness

Yes, Virginia, there is a DGE

Oh good god. I love my ego massaged like anyone else, but now I just feel objectified.

A green eyed piece of meat. Oh. That's disgusting, actually.

Hellllllooo! I'm up here!

:D

If it makes you feel any better, I'm not that impressed.

What the heck? Why don't people under the age of 25 know how to use a pen? Is it not taught anymore?

I see these weird writing contortions, wherein the pen is held like a stick about to plunged into a wildebeast or something.

This...

...is how to write with a pen.

Isn't it?

lol I actually hold the pen wrong and I'm 28. All my teachers growing up tried to get me to hold the pen the correct way, but I always rebelled. ;) I don't really know why. I guess I just liked having a solid (death) grip on it and felt I had better control. Just something weird that stuck with me.

We already get to see your intellect and wit across the boards. So you are all around admired. Well, at least by me.

I honestly blame pen manufacturers for making those little stick pens that are like penny candy for the ink-stained wretches of the world. There is no heft to them so it doesn't feel necessary to let the heft of the barrel rest in the flap between your thumb and forefinger. They're so light you can hold them in the tips of your fingers like tweezers and write all day long.

That and the fact that penmanship was dropped from the elementary school curriculum sometime around 1990.

Hm.

I guess I look at it and, to me, it appears as if the writer has somehow devolved back to an ape-like state. Now, my penmanship is not anywhere near what it could or should be - my mom-in-law has cursive writing that would make you weep with joy at it's beauty - but at least I don't look like I'm trying to dig termites out of a mound with a pen when I use it. :)

Is penmanship really no longer taught? How sad.

*smacks*

(That's for being one of those people that annoy me)

I never really learned how to detach at the wrist like that. Guess I'm uncouth.

Best way to make money at a racetrack: show up in a low cut top and charge the old horny men for looking at you.

I hold my pen wrong too, and I'll be 28 towards the end of the month.

But I don't hold it like is discribed, I hold it like the picture, only with two fingers on top, as apose to one.

Do you mean when people write with the weird backward curved hand thing? Like they have arthritis? That seems...painful to me.

If you look at writing from, say, the 40s, it's just a thing of beauty. So perfectly formed and fluid.

Hey! You're not talking about lefties, are you? 'Cause we can't help that.

;)

Can I point out that you might well be biased- the legible examples remain, while the illegible scribble will have made its way to the trash heap long ago.

Yes, that. Makes my hands ache just watching it.

Yeah...do not look at my handwriting. Ever.

(But at least I hold the pen correctly).

dammit!
pens are like brushes.
hold them the way they feel best in your hand. different pens are shaped differently. it effects the grasp.

Is cursive taught in the US/Canada?
