The funny thing is I do need new glasses. Are you psychic or something? All hail, the great and powerful DGE!!!
I'm well and looking into new possibilities and changes outside of bdsm. How about you?
And many other functions![]()
I just got an email from my 17 year old son, "coming out" as a furrie. He said his "fursona" is an anthromorphic squirrel, and attached a YouTube video link for educational purposes.
First thought - I'm not sure I'm ready for this conversation.
Second thought - How exactly do I explain I already know about furries, while protecting my own boundaries?
Third thought - Crap, I hope he didn't send the same email to his father... Shit. He did. [sigh]
When I look at the night sky I always think how great the stars look; I don't find myself thinking about the great black emptiness all around them.
I need to try and adopt the same approach with my life - start thinking more about how great the good bits are and brood less on the great black emptiness in me.
Not to pretend the blackness isn't there. Just to focus more on those lovely little points of light.

No! Hopes, you stay down.
Just because he has a phone interview tomorrow and they are already talking about flying him out for a tour and second interview does NOT mean you can start mentally packing the house into a moving van.
Stop! Be realistic.
Sarcasm is called for, cynicism even.
Just don't get your hopes up.

I'm not a parent, but I think it'd be a difficult conversation. You are pretty rational with people here; my impression is you'll handle this better than someone who is generally close-minded. Hang in there and keep the communication flowing.

A nice foot massage by an angel doesn't have the same ring.
Good vibes and stuffs for the interview, and for the packing and moving (ugh!) afterward! So they are flying him out for the inerview wednesday.
We should know early the week after if he got the job.
So nervous
Trying not to be overwhelmed by the hurricane of stuff that's going to have to get done if he does get the job.

Advice I gave a dear friend moments ago, and thought perhaps I would share its [generic] worth with all of my friends here:
Take the love that comes to you today, embrace it for all it is worth, and return it threefold, tenfold, a hundredfold. Take the joy that comes to you today, embrace it for all it is worth, and return it. Take even the sorrows that come, for not all of life can be wondrously fine and happy and laughing, and embrace them for what they're worth...
And give tomorrow unto tomorrow, for we never know if it will come at all.

That's kind of what I was trying to say, in my semi-hemi-demi-poetic way. I'm glad you thought it was worth thinking about, re-reading, and responding. Thank *you.*This is just so wonderful. I read this earlier and then came back to it again tonight to re read it. Yes, every bit of being human is beautiful... even when the human being seems messy, it is still a terribly beautiful work. When considered in its entirety, yes it is all worth it.
Thank you.![]()

I would like something new to sleep in. I'm tired of wearing a tshirt and yoga pants, because it feels like I'm wearing my clothes to bed (uh, 'cause I am, I guess). I'm wearing a cotton nightie tonight, but things are falling out all over the place. Maybe I need a cotton nightshirt with more coverage? Where does one go to find nice comfortable and affordable PJs that don't say shit like "adorable" on the ass?
