The Isolated Blurt Thread XXXVII: You're Welcome, Fuckers

red onion bed fertilized, sets in & watered' Getting there. Should be planting out the corn and green beans in a coupla weeks.
Yes, Harry loves when he gets to 'plant' his corn and beans. He loves to 'fertilize' and 'water', too.

We don't need to know all your naughty sex practices. 🤯

looks like we missed the bad stuff... a bunch of rain, some flash-bangs and sky art but no damage anywhere. Didn't move the potteds and they're fine though the spent blooms already on the azalea have dropped (in place, so because of the rain).

The warmth and the wet has seen the small red-bud blooming where it was just bare sticks yesterday.

Potted up the sprouted asparagus bean seeds, turned the potted corn to help it grow straight and gave them a little water... they're mostly up and between 1" and 3" tall already.

H came home with what I thought were some scrubby looking shallots but they were red onion sets, so they're having a drink now and I'll plant them out maybe tomorrow.

warm, wet and grey out, chickens are mooching about, dog's sulking because she likes it cold and bright. coffee time :coffee:(y)

Yeah, severe weather is threatening 71 MILLION today.

I don’t remember ever seeing such a large single area under a shared severe weather warning.

😳

Stay safe folks.

My madre has agreed to get a cognitive study done with me, I offered to go get one too so she doesn’t get upset that we have noticed her decline.

Other than that, life is really, really good. I keep tucking into bed at night and saying to the Chief that it’s a great little life we’ve got here. And I feel it, to my core.

asparagus beans beginning to show above their pots, corn between 2 and 4" tall in theirs.... moved them into the sun room to grow uncovered but safe from the birds, plundering mice, winds and chickens till big enough not to be a worry, then a few days to harden off outdoors before planting them into the ground.

potted up the sprouted regular green beans and put them in the same room.

before long it'll be the fennel and cukes, with carrot seed going directly into the ground.

on another note, I spotted two bears yesterday during our trip into Alabama (docs)... one was two thirds of the way up a tall tree and the other about half a mile away but down on the ground. They looked like black bears and the size would match up with that.

Grey days and not much sun. Today was snow, tomorrow is freezing rain and Monday rain but temperatures go up to 18 C. Winters are very long, especially the last days.
Enjoy your Autumn!

We don’t get that cold. That far North American, Canada, freezing to death cold. You see any Aussie tourists up there in their stubby shorts and singlets with gold chains, let ā€˜em freeze.

Don’t suppose any of you would know an alternative to Ball mason jars? They’re all I’ve ever really known when it comes to jars but they’re getting harder and harder to source and the prices are getting a bit silly. I’m after 16oz wide mouth. Maybe 32oz be better. And some flip top lids. I’m doing feta and herbs and garlic in olive oil. Roasted capsicum and lemon etc. The comfort stuff.

So, I went and saw Dylan the other night. It was my second time and i think he was better than the last time. Maybe, because I was sober this time, maybe, he just had a better night, i dont know. I heard some grumbling in the crowed because it wasnt quite what the expected. He didnt stand there with his Martin classical and belt out anti war songs from 60 years ago. He didnt have any stage talk, didnt try to pander to the audience or "give the people a show!". He sang songs that he has written, a few old, but mostly new. The music was what it was ment for, a back drop to his lyrics, his thoughts and his emotions. When you are able to convey all those things in a song, you have no reason to say anything else. It was a well crafted, superbly performed, poetry reading, cause thats who that man is, he is a poet and a nobel laurent and it was a privilege to get the chance to watch him craft.

Anyone close to a location where hes making a stop this spring, i highly recommend going. However, if its a trip down memory lane or a chance to see him perform "The Times They Are A-Changin'" you'll be disappointed. He has done what he has done best in the past, evolve. Even the older songs he sang were completely changed and almost unrecognizable. Unless you know the song by his lyrics, they'll probably blow right past you. Even if you're not familiar with his work, go and experience his genius. Although, i do recommend a little homework first. Read his lyrics not in context of his music at first. If you find something that gets you, and you will, then listen to the song. You'll only love it more. He is the best songwriter, the human race has ever produced, period.

Oh, and bring a lyrics sheet. Its kind of like doing a sudoku puzzle, you figure out the things you know before you tackle the things you dont. Hes can be, notoriously, hard to understand. But thats half the fun!

You’re getting some wild weather down there.

Are you and the bears (and Harry and the chooks and the cats and the dog doing alright???

😳

I remember, around the time I was being introduced to bdsm, seeing a collared woman in a convenience store. It was so sexy, a 50ish woman, very attractive, with a simple, yet very elegant, metallic locking collar accompanied by a handsome grey haired man. He caught me staring and merely smiled at me.

That’s hilarious.

You wont understand what he’s singing.

The music is sketchy.

Don’t miss it! Ha ha ha!

I saw Henny Youngman when he was nearly dead…his dentures were so loose you couldnt understand a word.

Instead, you laughed at the cadence.

However, i had complimentary tickets.

I dont even want to know how much you paid to see Bob Mumblyn

I paid what i paid and It wasnt as expensive as you are implying. The value of the seat isnt important to me. I spend more on a couple of tanks of gas. Money I have, getting another chance to see a person who has made an impact on my life, is rare.

I suggest you stick with the free tickets to people you dont like and can get a laugh from. Cause God knows there isnt anyone who can do anything better than you. Im sure you know someone better, are friends with someone better, or can do better yourself. Thats the shtick, right?

Of course I’m better than you, that goes without saying. ( ha)

As for Dylan, I’m hardly alone… just google ā€œ bob dylan over ratedā€.

He’s very easy to mock.

likewise, you’re not alone either… lots of people worship him.

Thanks for being so gracious in allowing me to express my opinion, your majesty.

Lol
