The Isolated Blurt Thread XXXVII: You're Welcome, Fuckers

My dad keeps looking for the local Jack rabbit. We have lots of cotton tails though.
There are no rabbits native to the area but there are some feral domestics that have been released or escaped. The snowshoe hare is native to the area.

Where's Butters? I want to hear tales of her gardening.
been outside today after a couple of days of rain and other things keeping me from it

'rescued' the asparagus green beans with their skinnier stems where they'd grown so fast indoors; the winds had laid a lot of them down and they were mud spattered from the rain. When I planted them, I'd placed 'trainer' sticks for them to climb up to the frame rigging, but the strong winds kinda pissed on that. So I lifted them and gave them more support, cleaned off their leaves, and put the netting back round to protect them from rabbits. The other green beans are dandy.

The first corn is standing about a foot high already, and the second batch about maybe 6". The red onions are doing well, with their leaves juicy and strong and upright. The potatoes and leeks are doing their thing, just rowing and minding their own business. The cukes aren't showing yet but it should be soon and I need another dry day to settle the soil a bit before I get my carrots in. H needs to mow around the veggie beds again as this rain and heat has seen things putting on flash growth and I don't want all the insects crawling up my legs as I weed what's needing weeding!

/gardener's world :p

Savoury? How so?
Steel-cut oats cooked with homemade turkey stock. I add a portion of roasted carrots (cooked with the turkey) and some of the dark meat. Makes for a good start to the day. It’s kind of a quick version of the goetta I make.

Now he's said that maybe they won't deport so many. That many that are here are hard working and help with the economy. 🤬
I'm sure the deportations can continue and people will pull their kids from school to work these picker jobs.

That sounds good!

Huh, took a little while, but all of a sudden i have 3 kids in college... Of their own choice. Im glad they are making those decisions for themselves. Im glad i didnt pressure them to go directly after high school. Its their decisions to make positive choices for their future. Seems silly to be extremely happy and proud of that, but i think it was best way to do that. Live some life, make some choices, figure out how the world works and find something you actually want to do. Obviously, thats not a blanket strategy, but its seems to work for my 3. We'll see what the future holds, but they are committed and determined to achieve what they want. They have turned into such strong women and I couldn't be more proud.

I was glancing and read that last line as you turned into a strong woman and I was gonna say you go girl.

Then I reread it.
Congrats
