Actually that is not true. There is so much that can only be learned through experience. I still prefer a lab to the outside world though.

Ever play that google game where you try to come up with a topic that has only one entry on google? I forget it's name but it sounds like you might have fun.

While I agree that experience can only teach you so much, labs are limiting as well. I think it's better to have a mixture of the two, but personally, I like to get my hands on something to experience it than read about it. But I do love to read things first to get ideas, then get my hands on experience.
