Society is feminizing you and your sons. It is leading to women being in the initiators in 80% of divorces. This is taken from something I discovered in cruising YouTube last night and I thought it was interesting.

How is this happening?

1. Public schools have over corrected and now are too focused on building female leaders. STEM is leaving boys behind. Most teachers are women, teaching in a style that favors girls. Rowdy boys are told to calm down, etc.
2. Toxic feminism is forcing men to retreat into corners and shut up or be cancelled.
3. Hollywood depicts men as bumbling idiots. Not enough Fonzies and too many Raymonds.
4. Soy, GMOs, elevated hormonal birthcontrol levels (environmental factors) in city water could actually be changing men's biology

What do you think of this?

I am struggling with this in my marriage and I'm concerned about the kind of men that will even be available for my daughters when they are older.

Bruh. I don’t come here to meet woman. As you can tell by my 367 posts in 5 years, I have better things to do. I come here to chat a bit, read some stories and occasionally drop a little poem in the poetry thread.

Marriage is called an institution for a reason - it has institutionalized women in abusive relationships wrought with infidelity. Women were called the old ball and chain because men had to financially support them (and sometimes their extended family). Now women can support themselves and not as likely to put up with the same level of shit.

You blame public schools for feminizing men. I blame mothers from the Golden Era teaching their sons as long as they work and now the yard, their wife should take care of all the rest - mothers who didn’t work or worked part time for something to do. That era is over and most households need dual income. So you have women still wearing the same hats but now working. Why would a man initiate divorce?

Maybe you should worry less about your daughters finding men suitable to your standards of marriage material and more about ensuring they can be self-sufficient so they don’t have to marry the first man who comes their way.

Interesting discussion points, so I'll share a few of my opinions on each. First a little background info. I'm a 60ish MWM and grew up in the racially divided Deep South. Both my parents worked, and both did domestic (know as "the woman's work") house work. I was raised that way, I cleaned the house, did laundry, and mowed grass. Served me well throughout my life. None of this was done by request. "Please mow, clean, etc..." was never a request despite the "please". Went to great schools where I was a thoroughly mediocre student. Nuff o' that.
1. Have no kids so I don't know what goes on in public schools. I have neighbors who teach and have kids who all appear normal. During my public school days, rowdy boys AND rowdy girls weren't tolerated and the correction was more direct and not as "touchy, feely". Nothing against touchy feely, just a fact. Peer pressure was far more influential in my development than teachers.
2. I don't know what toxic feminism is, but I believe it's more fringe feminism than mainstream feminism. I have seen the treatment of women improve over the years. Attitudes take time to change. Modern women aren't necessarily stronger or more confident, they just have more opportunities to express those traits. My mother was strong and as independent as she could be in her time, and in her own way was a feminist.
3. Any affect Hollywood has on us is our own fault. But most films are purely entertainment. There are some excellent films out there. Roles of women and minority groups now, and through out history, can be observed through cinema. We can visually see how our culture is changing if we bother to look and engage our brains.
4.I don't eat soy products, they make me fart. Soy products have pros and cons, use at your discretion. GMO's were originally developed for the the farmer, enabling better crop yield. Drought and disease resistance were key modification factors. Eliminate the ability to maximize crop yield and you decrease the ability to feed a growing world population. Furthermore, as we lose farmable land to solar fields, crop production decreases as the availability of farmable land decreases.

My opinions may not be on point, I'm often not. Nor do I pretend to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. However, this was meant to be a thought provoking thread and I wanted to express some thoughtful opinions and not personal attacks and name calling.

I wish there were more of it in schools today. Excel, budgeting, car maintenance, cooking, resume writing...etc. good skills for all.

wow there is a lot of words here! It gives me a headache trying to read all this crap while cleaning my gun and thinking about the next prey to hunt. I am struggling with this in my marriage and I'm concerned about the kind of men that will even be available for my daughters when they are older.

We as a society are telling men to change from what we consider the standard imagine or a man to be and yes sometimes people are taking that to an extreme. Honestly with divorces more times than not a divorce will favor the woman. Men get the short end of the stick and a lot of the blame so I believe a lot of men will stay in a marriage they are not happy in until the woman calls it quits just to avoid some of the blame. Also in my opinion people are in such a rush to jump into marriage anymore they don't stop to take time to get to know someone or live with them and see what it is like before asking for a ring.

Teaching is done by mostly women because it's not a job a lot of men receive praise on or either sex for that matter. The cost of living has gone through the roof from house to vehicles and so on. I do not know a lot of households that can survive on one job alone with insurance and living well. Teaching in most cases is not one of those jobs that is going to allow that. Since we as a society usually expect the men to be the bread winners or at least have the bigger check is it really surprising to see most teachers are women?

Sadly we have become a world offended by everything. Right along with that we have accepted a zero tolerance policy so really anyone is afraid that at some point we might do something that lands us in a court room. Most people have no idea what they might do that might offend someone. If you assume someone's gender then next thing you know you're there. If you says someone looks good and then you're there. So many little things that people in general used to just shrug off or apologize if they were taken the wrong way and now in our sue happy try to get rich and famous quick society nothing seems to be right.

Actually the problem is mostly the masculization of women and girls. Women today are far more masculine than males are feminine, however the feminization of males is also a problem.
