The Trump Davos speech.

Phil is an antiSemetic troll. I try to avoid engaging with him as much as possible.

Ironically I took the Mensa entrance exam when I was a teenager and got in. I never joined though because the organization seemed kind of lame. It was more fun hanging out with dorks my own age.
Genuinely curious here: would you know if Mensa is something you have to "requalify" periodically? The reason I asked is because when cartoonish cartoonist Scott Adams shuffled off the mortal coil last week, obituaries noted that he was a "lapsed" Mensa member.

Made me wonder if his abrupt descent into racism whilst in his 50s might explain the "lapse" in his Mensa qualifications.

As far as I know, you only need to score in the top 2% once to be admitted. There is no need to test again later.
'Lapsed' most likely just means he stopped paying the membership fee.

Donald Trump lurches further into delusion on the world stage
In Davos and the White House briefing room, the president showed that he is faltering and dangerous
Perhaps it was because of this delay that when the president got to Switzerland, we saw “Mean Don” hit the stage. We haven’t seen that version of him since his Christmas speech. Trump insulted our allies, said he didn’t like NATO, cheered on our enemies, told our closest friends they’re lucky they aren’t speaking German — or perhaps a little bit of Japanese — and metaphorically stuck his tongue out at everyone. Some who witnessed it live called it juvenile. And then he talked about Greenland, teasing his remarks as if he were standing on a junior high school stage introducing an eighth-grade production of “We’re No Angels.” He looked incredibly small as he proceeded to threaten Europe.

“All the U.S. is asking for is a place called Greenland,” Trump said. “We want a piece of ice for world protection, and they won’t give it. You can say yes and we will be very appreciative. Or you can say no and we will remember.”

Yeah. You can do it the easy way or the hard way. Comic book mobsters talk this way. In fact, it was actually more like a scene from “The Incredibles.” We caught him monologuing again: if he’d only gotten the Nobel Peace Prize. If our borders were only as solid as North Korea’s. If only the world would listen to Vladimir Putin’s peace plan.

See? It's all completely understandable! He's just chasing after a piece of ice!

Well hopefully it at least brings some attention to the WEF and their evil agendas.

It was a one-time thing I did in high school. They told me I passed and I said "Nah, you're lame" and that was the end of it. Maybe Adams didn't pay his dues?

The oxygen tent pals claim this is "succinct, well written, and convincing," which can only reflect that confirmation bias is real and well-entrenched on this thread. Mind, my analysis has been labeled "word salad" and "boolshit" by the same people praising your screed. But, who cares, as long as the echo chamber bobble heads - bobble, right...? Provided the pals do not experience cognitive dissonce, the rest is cream cheese👍

Sadly @RobDownSouth you have this largely bass ackwards. Trump (in his initial administration) was the first president to take the global constraint (vis-a-vis China's growing monopoly) of critical minerals as a direct threat to America's security/prosperity (I know that's extremely difficult for you to accept). Persistent environmental opposition to the mining of critical minerals (starting in the 1970s and peaking in the 1980s) resulted in the closing of several associated mines in the US.

However, the rising supply out of China (continuing into the 1990s and 2000s under Pax Americana, following the collapse of the Soviet Union) gave America ready and economically cheaper access to the critical minerals. However, global and political maneuvering by China in the 2010s (One Belt, One Road and the ongoing false annexation of the South China Sea) resulted in increasing American concerns regarding the supply.

These concerns were manifested in 2011, when China curtailed the supply of critical minerals to Japan, following a sea-related incident.

Bey hey, don't believe a word I type (see all the previous and colorful criticisms - ad hominen attacks, really - on me). Read the report for yourself (or exercise your ability to refuse to do so, as others have done before you) 📑
Oh look at you, my sweet summer child!

Bemoaning someone who has the absolute gall to agree with me! The nerve of these men!

You appear to be equal parts frustrated and angry. That's not anyone here's fault, you simply cannot waltz in here and sling ad hominem without expecting some slung back at you (cue the "he started it!" excuses.

I did read the website advertorial you linked to and was pleased to see we both are using the same source data. Having said that, your site goes out of its way to paint President Donald J. Sundown as the "hero" with regard to the current Chinese stranglehold on rare mineral refining, which I find very amusing.

Rare earth refining was a refining backwater prior to the 2015-2017 boom in electric vehicles. How we got to that point is quite frankly immaterial to the discussion (although I'm quite sure you'll find some novel way to say otherwise).

MY point was, beginning late 2016, early 2017 the world woke up to the realization that modern industry was going to get a LOT more dependent upon rare earth refining than at any other time in human history.

Your hagiography would make use believe that President Donald J. Sundown immediately sprang in to action, which he technically did....although the appropriate analogy might be "dipping his toe in the rare-earth pool".

President Donald J. Trump's first term accomplishments vis-a-vis rare earth refining can be summed up in two succinct bullet points:
  • President Donald J. Sundown directed the massive Department of Defense (as it was known back in the day when he was branding himself the 'peace president') to divert Thirty MILLION dollars (say this with an Austin Powers Doctor Evil voice for maximum effect) as political payback to a Trump supporter to build a "rare earth refinery" here in Texas. (By way of contrast, the city of Houston spends Thirty MILLION dollars to help Mexicans register to vote for Democratic candidates every single year!)
  • President Donald J. Sundown issued not one but TWO of his famous "Executive Orders" decrying the current state of the rare mineral refining industry and supply chain.
So let's analyze these bullet points now. With regard to the first point, the American defense establishment routinely spends billions of dollars in procurement each year. A thirty MILLION dollar political set-aside is a drop in the bucket. To characterize this slop as "bold decisive action" as your opinion piece would have use believe, is classic gaslighting based on "balance fallacy".

Also worth noting is that the refinery build here in Texas did not work. Period. It taxed the already overloaded Texas power grid (crypto miners base themselves here in Texas to keep the power grid at 100% usage at all time). So as your opinion piece parenthetically notes, President Joe Biden came along to clean up the mess he inherited from President Donald J. Sundown and had a very small scale ultrahighvoltage power generation station built at federal government expense so that the Sundown political contributor might see a positive return on his investment.

Contrast this picayune dawdling with China investing billions in a rare earth refinery infrastructure during this period.

With regard to the second bullet point, it becomes very apparent that President Donald J. Sundown's involvement in rare earth refining was essentially confined to talking about it on a single day. Classic 'words, not deeds". Simultaneously, the Mad King was opening up millions of acres of federal land for private oil drilling, leading the charge of "drill baby drill" because petroleum based automobiles and pickup trucks are gonna be around forever, baybeee!

The bottom line, as I stated earlier, and your opinion piece verified, is that China controls a 95% stranglehold on the rare earth refining supply chain. This is not good for America.

I do appreciate you posting that link, though, because it contained one little nugget of information I wasn't aware of. I originally said that the last three remaining large rare earth reserves were Russia, Ukraine and Greenland. As I mentioned in my original post, Russia has a lock on their own reserves and started a war with Ukraine to claim Ukraine' reserves. Greenland was the sole remaining major reserve. Your article indicated that China had purchased a substantial number of mining claims in GreenIceland. This might explain the dotard's sudden interest in "purchasing" GreenIceland.

So as you can see, I have clearly and succinctly stated my position, hopefully to your satisfaction but in all honesty I won't lose sleep if it's not.

I urge you to try and keep something of a civil tongue here in your inevitable reply, and continue to remind yourself that it is not the fault of anyone on this political board that your parents didn't love you enough to get your amblyopia surgically corrected when you were a child.

A "dying Europe" that forced him to back down on his infantile threats connected to his FAILED attempt to annex Greenland (or was it Iceland?).

TACO. And it's not even Tuesday.

Uninformed nut.

Greenland is all but ours as we speak. Trump got what he wanted. You didn't understand the goals or the process.

OK, OK, we'll invade China. It's our assigned sector in the Global Race War anyway.

Oh, I get it! Trump wants Greenland because he thinks it's Iceland! Icelanders are WHITE! (Most Greenlanders ain't.)
