Thought for the day.

If it helps any Fawn, I would make this suggestion. Before you ever post something for them to look at, do a spellcheck on it. That usually takes care of most of the spelling errors.

I think sometimes that some folks forget that what they are seeing is a rough draft and not the finished product. It isn't suppose to be perfect.

Ask yourself what the motive for the posting is. If all you want are people to tell you how brilliant you are, then you will NEVER grow. You will become blinded by your own brilliance.
Ignore spelling errors. It is far more important to get the initial thought down while it is still fresh. Spelling errors will be taken care of in the re-write. Look for suggestions on how to speak from the soul, not from the keyboard.

Hope this helps a little.

I sometimes think that people forget what it means to be a fledgling writer and just trying to put thought to word and word to print.

When you write, you are exposing your inner self. Your imagination is laid bare for all the world to see, and for the carrion of litrature to pick through for any tasty bits they may find.
If you are fortunate, you will find that rare individual that will actually appreciate the core of what you are trying to say.
THAT is the person you are trying to reach. Not the masses.
And if you are very fortunate, that person will change with each piece that you write. And that is why we write. We want to bring a change to someone out there. Perhaps nothing more than a smile, or a thought. But a change, at the very least.

I'm done with the serious shit.

I think that one that writes also has to develop a thick enough skin to be able to deflect the bad if it is not constructive and let the good seep thru.

All the while remembering that most critics have never actually written a word for public viewing because of their fear.

Take that from someone that has had the "hellfire and brimstone" crowd overwhelm her mailbox.

I was an actor for years before I started writing. I wonder what it says about me that I have chosen two professions where I set myself up to be judged for my talent on a regular basis.
So often, a critic is actually telling you what he would have written, rather than analyzing what you have written.
But the bottom line is that it is all a matter of personal tastes.

As for the "hellfire and brimstone" crowd, nothing pleases me more than to get their panties in a twist. The only Hell is a closed mind.

Here's a thought...

Pam and Tommy. Paris Hilton. Rob Lowe.
My question is - Which celebrity couple's secret sex tape is the one you are DYING to see?
I'm hoping that Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder got careless with their tapes. Yummy!

I know how Hamlet ends, too. Doesn't stop me from watching it.
