"Top Secret"

The CiC is not a member of the armed forces, he's a civilian and not subject to UCMJ proceedings.
Fro-DOH! is a idiot. Just don't pay attention to him. Pat him on the head and give him a cookie for his effort.

A trump delay tactic, but probably worth doing given the “unprecedented nature” and all that.

Like he’s got some innate lizard cunning.

I think he’s a clown, but he’s got “slippery” down to a fucking science.

Considering the new revelations of classified documents I thought that this thread was worthy of a bump.

We have as little an idea as to how sensitive the documents that Biden had as we did those in Trumps possession. And the probability is that we'll never know. Referring back to the OP, the government classifies damn near everything whether it needs to or not. It's a compulsion, a knee jerk reaction. An opportunity for petty bureaucrats to feel more important than they really are.

The bigger issue is that the government uses classification to hide things from the citizen that shouldn't be hidden. The democratic process and secrecy are mutually exclusive. It is imperative that the citizen knows what their government is up to so that we can make rational decisions as to whether we want to go down that path or not.

Years ago there was a committee in the senate instituted by Sen. Frank Church (D Idaho) that investigated the CIA. The revelations were eye opening and led to legislation that limited the scope of the CIA. Obviously the investigation was initially opposed by the republicans but as more and more abuses came to light the committee became considerably more bi-partisan.

Now I see a similar committee being instituted in the house and strenuously being opposed by the democrats. Me? I look forward to seeing what they find when they start turning over the rocks to see what vermin lie beneath.

Trump has every intention to obstruct.

EXACTLY.

And EXACTLY opposite of how President Biden and his team behaved upon discovering classified documents had apparently been inadvertently packed up during the administrations transition in 2020 and stored with other unclassified material.

Well boys(?), you come across as 'Hollywood Psychics.' "Intent" is for the judges to take into consideration at the sentencing and has nothing to do with the law.

Biden removed the material, period. The fact that some 6 to 8 years later the truth comes out is of no consideration...none.

Presidents can declassify anything they want, Vice-Presidents don't have that option. As an example in 1969 Henry Kissinger exposed to the Soviet Union, in a speech, exactly how our 'fail safe' program worked. This was done out of fear that the Soviet leadership didn't have complete control of their nukes. Point being that Trump has an arguable point, Biden doesn't.

Then there are the political considerations along with the timing. This was disclosed AFTER the mid-terms but BEFORE the new republican congress was sworn in. If you don't believe that was purposeful you're naive morons. It's a blocking move by the Biden administration to forestall any blow back. The fact that it hands Garland a serious dilemma to deal with was secondary.

And NO ONE knows whether the material was of any consequence at all.

What's this assertion of "Biden removed the material"? Who the hell is stupid enough to "know" that he personally touched the material at any time it was out of a controlled location while he was vice president or knew that it, specifically, had been moved at all? The only secret document that's been specifically mentioned yet was inside an outer envelope with no classification marking. Anyone here think Biden was on the actual moving crew for any of this or packed boxes himself? They've said the material was in a locked closet. Was Biden's desk in the locked closet too? Is there evidence he looked in any of the boxes? Are his fingerprints on any of the boxes the material was in? Stay tuned.

We wouldn't know or be able to claim that Trump directly either moved or directed the moving of anything classified directly (although they have been working on that) if his attempts at obstruction hadn't claimed he was that involved in the removal. With his big mouth, his little brain, and his insistence to lie in stereo, he fingered himself on that. (You can't claim material belongs to you if you don't know what it is; you can't declassify something you don't know exists and is classified.)

All that ^ and the fact that the determination of INTENT and OBSTRUCTION is a KEY factor in the decision on whether or not to assign a special counsel:

You know, like they did when the orange traitor in chief demonstrated INTENT and OBSTRUCTION while possessing classified documents and government property.

Good thing President Biden didn’t do that ^

A second location. More classified documents. And more stonewalling from the White House. Refusal to answer the most basic questions. 🤣

Where and when were the additional documents found? When was the President first briefed on the discovery of the documents? Why wasn’t the public informed earlier? Are there other classified documents that were improperly handled? Did Mr. Biden use other offices in the period after he left the vice presidency?

The investigation is ongoing. The DoJ should be the ones to answer those questions and likely will in the next few months.

Understood. But with the possible exception of the question about whether or not there are other mishandled documents, these are very basic questions posed by reporters which the president or his spokesperson could answer today.

They probably could, but there's no reason to suspect they would.....as typically commenting on an ongoing investigation is not ideal for any reason.

Exactly!!!!! Spot on! How do you take something without intending on taking something, LMFAO Not one batch but possibly two. Until a magistrate can prove that Trump lied about declassification of documents in possession which is well within his purview to do the DOJ will be treading water for a long time, Smih will crash into a legal wall of proving a negative.

Biden on the other hand had absolutely no authority to have in his possession classified documents outside of a SCIF

Biden should never have capitulated to the Deep State, because it’s a sign of weakness. Stronghorse Trump fought against it like a good American should. Do I have that right?

Now comes the whinny little shits saying, "But Biden may not have taken them." Well, yes he did in the eyes of the law.

Trump could use the same lame excuse, "I didn't move them." And that is an absolute fact. Weenies from the GAO inventoried and packed all that shit up and moved it to Mar a Lago. The documents in Trump's possession were known to exist the whole time. Known from the GAO inventory list and known to the representatives from the National Archives that also inventoried the documents.............twice.

Biden cannot say the same. Those documents didn't seem to be on anyone's inventory list. They were just magically found. Just like the documents that magically disappeared after "Socks" Berger's visit to the Archives.

In the end it doesn't matter if either Trump or Biden moved the documents, or even knew of their existence for that matter. The documents were in their possession and control in the eyes of the law.

Garland and the Special Prosecutor both have BIG problems.

I covered that on this thread. No, Trump couldn't be held personally accountable for what was packed up and sent as long as proof didn't exist of personal handling and directing of specific items. He is being held accountable for what he did later. Once they were delivered to Mar-A-Lago, a country club open to its members, he was accountable for having them and storing them. By claiming variously that they were his property (presupposing he knew what they were and that he had them) and that he had declassified them (presuppositing that he knew they existed and what they were) he became personally accountable for having them and for how they were stored--and ultimately for not returning them when proper authorities asked for their return. He was requested to return them to the proper authorities and he stonewalled doing so. Once they arrived at Mar-A-Lago he also was personally responsible for how they were stored--in a country club.

The Biden case doesn't get to the points of personal blame--yet, at least. The Trump case is well beyond that point--based on Trump's own declarations.
