Tunnels & Trolls The campaign begins...

Alonria had drawn her, bow and moved so that she had a clear shot, and was still able to see the others in the group. She waited arrow cocked while Tol'Chuk challanged the troll's.
She new that at this distance she would only be able to get a few shots off, and so was prepared drop her bow, and to draw the shortsword in the sheeth at her back, to some the short sword was more of a Large dagger, but for her size it worked ither way.

Detton

Detton stood, finger rubbing carefully over the notch that signalled the balance on his pitchfork. He mulled the thought over in his head. Dwarf takes on two, kills them. That leaves four. He could bury his pitchfork in one of their guts before it could do any danger. That leaves three. The dwarf could take another one, if not the last three.

The rest of the party should be able to take down one if not two, which would wipe out the Trolls. He glanced over at the wizard. "They're prisoners. Leave them. When they double-cross us, we'll kill them. Don't get too close, just watch, and wait, ready to fight. That way we'll be ready when they get angry and try to rush us, with a third of their number engaged with the dwarf, if not dead. We should be able to handle four, don't you think?"

Plot and cunning are put side before the proposal can be considered by the trolls and arrow hits the lead on squarely in the shoulder with a thud. He is greatly angered by this attack though it seems to have little effect on him. He screams out what can only be described as a war cry in troll and runs towards the archer.

Of the other five three follow him while the others surround the prisoners who strangely are not moving or even reacting to the commotion around them. All the attackers have clubs but long knives in their belts also though they are not out yet.

You wanted adventure here it is.....what do you all do......your turn then their turn.

Detton

Detton sighs, and runs forward, readying his pitchfork to slam into the lead Trolls gut, ready to put the muscles strengthened by years of hard labor into shoving the prongs of the tool deep into the Troll's sensitive insides and the pull back for a secondary attack at the neck.

Muscles braced, Detton doesn't ponder the Troll's advantage in experience, armor, or strength.

Shan'do drops his bow and draws out his sword, moving into a defensive stance, waiting for theTroll to get close enough before striking out at it's neck. "Die beast, that I may claim your gold - and bounty!"

Tol'Chuk weaved a sigh... a fair fight. It had to come down to a fair fight. Maybe he would be lucky enough to have idiot companions that would fire a shot into a nice even dozen of trolls. That might have upset something, but this?
Barely worth a challenge.
Damn bows. Ruined good fighting anyway. What's the point of being as far away as you could, only to annoy them like buzzing flies on a lazy summer's day. Giving off a fierce growl of his own, the barrel of ale still tied to his back, ten gallons of dead weight giving him a nice disadvantage, Tol'Chuk ran into battle, meeting the leader head on.

Vortigern rolled his eyes at Detton. The peasant actually thinks he knows what he's doing, he thought. Vortigern looked around for support. He saw that Alonria and Rowena hadn't charged into battle yet. "You two," the wizard commanded ashe gestured to the two women, "help me with the prisoners. I need you to keep the trolls off my back while I'm casting."

Without waiting for a response Vortigern ran to the edge of the battlefield. He pulled a tiny bag from one of his many belt pouches. He poured the contents, several slender animal bones, into his hand. Holding the bones aloft in one hand and his staff in the other, Vortigern began his spell:
Verminus Brigandi Orbitos
He tossed the bones into the air and pointed his staff at the trolls guarding the prisoners. The bones transformed into a swarm of bats. They flew straight for the trolls and began to harass them. "Now while they're distracted," said Vortigern as he ran towards the prisoners.

Zex

Zex watched as Tol'Chuk charged into the fight. " Now we're talking" he said to himself. He pulled his sword and ran into the battle. A troll stepped in front Zex. He gripped onto his sword with two hands and swung it as hard as he could at the troll's head.

Alonria glaced over at Tol'Chuk to make sure he faird well, and seen that Zex was at his side, they seemed to have things well in hand.

Making sure to move into a postition where she could get a clear shot. Alonria quickly started fireing her bow, at the trolls surrounding the captives, giving the wizard some more time to free them.

Tho she thought it very strange that the prisoners did not seem to know what was going on around them, they just stood there, even with the bats diving in and out they did not move, and the torlls were trying to protect them........

Vortigern ran straight for the prisoners. In their confusion the trolls had no idea what to do. Most of them swatted at the bats flying overhead. One of the trolls spotted the wizard and let out a howl of anger. He ignored the pestering bats and charged Vortigern.

Swiftly, Vortigern retrieved a packet from one of his pouches and threw it on top of his head. The packet released a glittering powder which covered his head and shoulders. The wizard stamped his staff into the ground and shouted:
Obfuscatia Implorum
Vortigern disappeared. The troll stopped in mid-stride absolutely dumbfounded. Now invisible, Vortigern snuck around his would be assailent as quietly as any thief. He crept toward the captives, preparing to bypass the trolls still guarding them. He saw that Alonria was firing arrows at them. Hopefully she would keep them distracted long enough to free the captives.

Shan'do swung his blade as he lept into the midst of the Trolls, striking out in all directions. "Come one, come all! My blade can fit in all of ya!"

Xaositec. I know you're eager to get into this fight, but you need to slow down a bit... it's more of a take turns kinda thing. We do one action. (the bats) they do an action (counterspell, or attack, Jagged may even decide the trolls have some sort of chance to see the bats as nothing more than a magic trick, and have them provide a spell of their own) then we get to do an action again. That's how it works.

ooc : Np hun, we all make mistakes just try and be a little more careful next time. hehehehe :)

sorry for the delay....

Detton

You make your two attacks against the troll. You both charge and pierce the belly of the beast and blood spurts out of the wound as the enraged creature looks at you with shock. You withdraw the pitch for and go for the neck only to be parried by the trolls club which slams down next painfully on your left shoulder.....sending a painful rush through your body. The Troll steps back five feet and puts his free hand on the wound which has already stopped bleeding and smirks...

Shan'do
swung his blade as he lept into the midst of the Trolls, striking out in all directions. "Come one, come all! My blade can fit in all of ya!"

Dropping your bow you do not have long to wait before you encounter a troll.....swing widely he parries you with his club and in a fit of rage hits you squarely on the head knocking you to
the ground screaming above you....

Tol'Chuk
OOC thanks for the player aid....people wait for decisions on major things....chance are it will work but let me decide.

The dwarf runs into battle seeking combat with the lead troll Detton has already tried to take on the beast which is already healing and wounded the farmer for his trouble. You run around Detton and I infront of the troll still armed and ready.

Vortigern

You give your commands and release your spell on the trolls........sadly with little effect other then a few swats with clubs at the air around the pair guarding the prisoners. Creatures that make their homes in caves see many bats.....far to often to pay them any mind. (Up to you Vortigern if you still sneak closer)

Zex

You move in on the troll standing over Tol'Chuk and attack him on his flank before he is ready.......You swing with all your might and with a bit of luck....you open your eyes to see the trolls eyes flying off his head and into the woods with the body falling down on Tol'Chukwith a loud thud.

Alonria

On like the bats....three arrows are fired and all hit but the trolls hold their ground and pull them from bloody woods painfully. One of the charging trolls singles you out and with a mighty two handed swing knocks the bow from your hands......they hurt but nothing seems to be broken as you pull back from the troll.

The rest of you........the remaining trolls close in on you while the others remain back with the prisoners.

OOC okay people if you haven't guested each "turn" which you post allows two actions like.....drawing a sword and using it...once......or running and attacking once with a sword out. Doing one thing allows more concentration so keep it in mind. Taking the time to aim a bow shot (long bows get three btw) and then firing will bit a called spot most likely.

Watching the bow go flying from her hands, and backing away from the troll as quickly as possable.
Alonria unshethed her Shortsword from the sheath at her back, and moved to help the other's. She wasnt close enough yet to attack, but was ready to stand her ground, and fight should the Troll who knocked the bow from her hands decide to charge, insted of staying with the prisoners.

Upon seeing the bow go flying from Alonria's hands, Vortigern decided the heroics could wait. Acting quickly he drew a tiny sack from one of his myriad pouches. He poured its contens, a granular substance, into his left hand. He held the hand aloft and crust the substance in his fist. Immediately smoke rose from his palm and the scent of rotten eggs filled the air. He pointed his staff at the troll attacking Alonria and shouted:

Rava Imbol Miscaran

The troll was suddenly wracked by horrible pains that shot through his entire body.

Ooc: Oh, this is fun. Thanks Jagged.

Tol'Chuk, saw the flesh wound provided by one of the group already. A pitchfork? Hmmm, well, if it could get in the right place, throat, stomach, maybe even in the face. Ha ha, take out two eyeballs. Now, that would be a sight to see.
Ha ha ha.
But, it was foolish to go into combat with it. Foolish and deadly.
Tol'Chuk liked it, lots of balls to go into a fight with this particular kind of weapon. No way to parry, really, no way to fight, only a few lucky shots save you from death's door.
Tol'Chuk's battle axe, chained to his wrist, screamed for its own dent in the lead troll. Ducking low, well, lower (as it were) he put all of his might into the attack, letting his axe gut the troll. A nice huge slash across the chest.
Grunting with ferocious dwarven pride, his (called) shot hit with terror.

"OWWW!" Shan'do fell back onto the ground. "Ah well. One more headwound won't hurt..." Seeing the troll towering over him, Shan'do grasped his blade in both hands and thrust it up at the creature's head

Rowena hoping that her spell had taken effect with the blessing of her allies, and then concentrated on another, after a few seconds a small celestial bager appeared and Rowena pointed to the trolls.. "attack". The Bager made a move to attack....

Detton

Detton's left shoulder felt numb. And for some odd reason his arm seemed to be having trouble working right. Well, at least it was moving at all. Detton grabbed his pitchfork, scrambling back up to his feet from where he'd been, and saw the dwarf go in after the Troll.

There was a warrior. Detton braced himself, trying to make sure he was ready to defend himself, looking around at the battle and trying to get his ingured arm under control.

Seeing the troll dubble over in pain, and a large bagger appear to attack the other troll's. Alonria moved to help Shan'do, and hoped she would be able to help him before the troll standing over him struck a killing blow. She saw Shan'do's blade go up into the troll's head....and she continued to move forward to guard his back, and give him time to get to his feet.

Zex

Zex picked up the severed head of the troll and turned a troll to his right. He tossed the troll head at this new threat and followed with a lunge with his sword.

OOC: I've been unable to get online for the past couple of days so I'm just gonna jump back in..

IC: Aralia stayed silent throughout the entire quest so far. Her gaze followed the wizard warily sensing power. She was good but she didn't know his depth of skill. Her gaze wandered over the other elf. It was nice to see another of her kind but this one seemed a little off. Though in these hard times that was hardly unexpected. The Dwarf was surly but seemed more bark then bite. the rest were enigmas in themselves.. oh well she didn't need to solve all their mysteries she had her own reasons and didn't want them knowing them. So she would respect their privacy. Humming an elven song her mother used to sing she followed along with the group.

OOC: Is this thing still active?

IC: Vortigern stared incredulously as Alonria simply walked away from the doubled over troll. "What are you doing?!" he screamed.

Muttering to himself about the incompetence of others Vortigern gripped his staff in both hands and prepared to strike the troll himself.
