Tunnels & Trolls The campaign begins...

Alonria ignord the wizard shouting at her, all he would do is draw more attention to ether himself or her if he continued. The doubled over troll, was no threat at the moment, he was in too much pain.
Shan'do was in more need of aid at the moment. He had yet to get up off the ground, and pull his sword free of the Troll's head.

Rowena realizing that one of their crew would ned her assistance she made her way towards Shan'do as well knowing .. that the badger would continue to attack until the troll or it was dead.

OOC.....responding this afternoon. Sorry was side tracked by a few crazy days. Trolls will attack shortly

OOC: ok I completely missed the fact we were in battle.. I think I just read page one thinking I was on the last page... sorry!

IC: Aralia was impressed with her comrades fighting abilities. Pulling out her daggers with a smooth practiced motion she attacked the closest troll her blades going for the throat.

back let me know if I made any mistakes....will check again tonight

Send in the trolls......Sorry people back on track and running right. On with our tale of adventure where we last left our heroes......

Alonria

The troll that knocked the bow out of your hands is still spoiling for a fight though........You were right to pull your short sword at first opportunity because just as you pull it from your sheath the club comes swing at you yet again. You barely parry the might two handed blow but your unhurt but pushed to the side....

Aralia

Before attack Alonria again you run to her aid.....the closest troll. As he raises the club in a swinging stance to his side you come from behind jumping on his back and warping your arms around his neck the blades cutting into his green throat. You feel the blades dig into him and as you pull through your hands are drenched with blood. A you jump back in fighting stance the troll falls to the ground with a thud next to Alonria its neck hold his head by a thread...

II down...

Vortigern

Aralia comes from the woods to attack after you successfully..in no small part thanks to your spell the troll seemed to be shaking as he held his club and could not seem to come to bare on the woman on the wrong. The spell is gone but unlike before not used with sighs of success.... the might strike of your staff to the troll's head insures that he won't be getting up any time soon.

Shan'do

You go down but soon spring up in true heroic fashion with blood pouring down the side of your face. You catch the troll off guard and slam your blade down and cut open his face taking out an eye and a few teeth for your trouble....The troll blind with rage spings his club into your side knocking the wind out of you and you left on the ground trying to cath your breath....still though you hit the troll good and you see him drop his club.

Tol'Chuk

Many have seen a troll.....fewer have said they have been able to kill one.....even less can say they have cut one in half. Your ax is blood and you know this troll....will regenerate if not burned though (you have great knowledge of trolls..intelligence roll..smiles.)

Detton

You see the troll go down with a brutal display of power from an ax which makes anything you have done with a the family wood ax pale in conparrison. Injuried but ready you raise your pitch fork in defense.

Alonria (continued...later in the battle.)

Struck down but not out and with plenty of fight left you move to aid Shan'do. As he is knocked to the ground the staggering unarmed troll wonders back...you crawl hurt on your hands and knees and with a quick upward thurst your blade penetrates the gut of the troll and into his chest piercing organs.....dropping the troll. He leans into your blade and falls on yur sword. You are now covered by a dead bloody troll.

Roza

Your badgers appear and go after every foe living or dead. Though they seem to have little interesting the corpses. They soon are off wildly chasing the wounded trolls that were guarding their prisoners.. all trolls that went to meet your party are dead and soon they are running with badgers chasing them into the night.

Zex

You toss the head with a sense of victory and look about the battlefield and see all the trolls are down. The head hits one of the fleeing trolls in the back.....

Post-Battle Report

Your all bruised and bloody but now would be the time to bandage and see to your wounds. A tough first fight but a victory that you can talk about is still a victory.

You have killed four smasher trolls a brutal breed that is simple in its attacks. It primarly beats a victim to death or unconscious. It either cuts the throat or carries the body off to its layer. They have been know for smuggling, slavers, and cannibalism. They worship the dark gods and take delight in sacrificing pregnant females and children in fires.

Between the four trolls you find some 500 silver and a bag of jewelary which looks like it came from the women and children. A powerhorn is half filled with a light blue powered. The magic users soon know it is a mind control power. A small wiff can last for an hour...it seems it has been used alot. It is geared to be used on humans. Trolls themselves have a very high tolerance for the substance which is made in part from the blue rocks in the mountains.

As to weapons there are four of everything. Four heavy wood clubs some with many notches on them an symbols of both human and different kinds of animals. Also four long blood knives.

The main troll has a backpack on and soon as someone puts their hand in it it appears to have room of four bags in it. Inside the inventory is of 4 blood cat skins and eight claws, some holy books of the fertility goddess, and a large chunk of boar meat.....fresh.

The prisoners....

All the females and little girls are clad in white and the boys are dressed in simple peasant clothes. The female clerics notice tattooing on the women which is of a a small sect that follow the fertility goddess. They often operate temples that take in children. Many sadly as of late have been overflowing with young girls since the boys are often drafted into what ever noble's army.

The women are groggy but seem to be coming out of the spell. One little girl is soon crying and running around.

Shan'Do grins. "Ah, a lorious victory! And glorious rewards!" He quickly grabs a handful of the jewelry and stuffs it in a pocket before helping to heave the dead troll off of Alonria.

"Are you injured m'lady? I may be able to bind your wounds if you wish it"

Detton

Detton had been the one to search through the backpack, remarking on its contents to the others, and having to rely on one of the more learned of the group to tell him what the books were. He recognized the symbol for the fertility goddess, integral in any farmer's life, but not what they were about.

He hefted the backpack on. "Well, I don't seem to be particulary good at anything else, so I guess I can haul this stuff around..."

Aralia fixed her hood on her head hiding the strand of silver hair that threatened to peak out. Very few elves had silver hair. Most who did were from the royal family. Something she did not wish to divulge. Though not many knew about the silver hair heritage unless they to were elven. Picking up a particular pendant in the Jewelry she studied it closely recognizing the symbols. It was elven based, a simple adornment really but from an elf no doubt. Where had these monsters gotten this necklace? it was the only one of its kind in the jewelry. She slipped it into her pocket leaving everything else behind and once more backed into the shadows her gaze wathcing everyone. They all seemed to be hale and healthy and thats all she needed to know.

OOC: I hope I didn't overstep my bounds on the elven stuff.. let me know and I will change it immediately :)

Shan'Do

You take a hand full of the jewels...before moving to the more honorable action of picking up the dead troll of your lady companion. Alonria is able to move now and the dead troll lays, but you can't seem to tell.....well your the troll seems less dead??

Detton

Your impressed by the mount of space in this backpack. It is easily four times the size of what it appears to be on the outside.

The books on Frigga are familiar. There seems to be one book on planting, another on child birth, and another all about the goddess. You can tell from the illistrations (not sure if this peasant can read.)

Aralia

You fix your hood is back on once again concealing and fashionable. You look at the pendant carefully and at the very least it looks out of place with the other items.

A teen girl walks over to you with red hair, eleven ears, but large green human eyes. Also you notice on her arms and other exposed skin is dozens of elven rune symbols painted on her with a exotic blue Henna.

Without a word she reaches out and grabs the wrist of the hand you used to put the pendant in your pocket. He grip is cold and weak but she seems persistant....

She looks in your eyes..."Pasha's not yours..." her voice is like that of a scared little girl.

Alonria looked up at Shan'do as he lifted the trolls body off of her smiling she said. That was fun .... yes i would appreceate having my wounds looked at. i dont think anything is broken. Reaching up she took Shan'do's hand and they begain to look closer at the Trolls body, something didnt seem right... it looked dead but not dead.
Looking around she could see that the others in the group were studing items that they had found. Motioning to Rosa sence she was a priestess and to Tol'Chuk for his knowlage of Torlls. She asked them if they thought something was wrong as well or if maybe she had just hit her head to hard.

Aralia gently removed the young girls hand . SHe reached inside her cloak and pulled out the necklace. She spoke elvish to the her. "Little one I did not mean to steal Pasha please do frogive me. Please tell what exactly is Pasha? For a necklace to have a name there must be something special about it." She held out the necklace to show the girl she would not keep it. Though Aralia acted cold and distant she was as gentle and soft spoken to the young elf as she could be. This small elf was their future. "you can trust me little one. I am of the ancients. Before the war." She let the girl peek at her silver hair putting a finger to her lips. She knew even in these times all young elves were told of the Silver heritage. Though mostly as a fairytale. No one believed any still lived. She awaited the young girls reaction

Alonria

Your body has felt better some days but you have only been knocked around. Their are bruises and some blood but a few bandages should take are of you well enough for a time.

The troll doesn't seem completely dead.....to you but it isn't breathing. The trolls missing heads though do not seem to be doing any kind of moving. You have heard stories though of trolls healing.....arms growing back and arms growing into new trolls.

Your head hurts but you are able to fight and walk.

Aralia

The young girl smiles at you once she feels at ease and your use of elven tongue makes her smile. She is happier in her words, " no no.....I Pasha. You speak mama'a language. I am Pasha Quarlani. My mother was a ...ah..sighs witch. She left me at the temple while she went to the woods to get herbs.." She begins to cry..."two years ago." She gave me that..she says I am more elf then human. Please.....may I have it back. Troll ripped it off my neck."

She steps back seeing your hair and is in awww....smiles and hugs you...she warmly embraces you and whispers, "hair like mama and grandma...mine would be gray sighs if man not rape mama....she said she loved me anyway."

She lays against your shoulder tears flowing.

Tol'Chuk didn't need his wounds tended to. He hadn't received more than a scratch himself. No real fun, to be honest. He had missed out, but the troll, who still posed in it's attack form, one half laying about ten feet away from the other was amusing.

Letting his blood splattered face dry like that awhile, give the young ones something to shiver over, he started dragging carcasses closer to each other.

"Get some firewood. Big logs. We need to make a bonfire. In about four hours, I'm guessing, these little buggers will be good enough to go a round two, and no offence, but I'm not sure you are able to take that again. We also need some light brush... and hurry up. I don't want to camp next to a pile of dead troll, never get the smell out."

He dumped another body onto the first couple, head over feet. Smiling, he let his axe get another decisive blow into the beasts back before searching for some firewood.

Detton

Detton looked up, nodding at the Dwarf's commands./ He seemed to know what he was doing. Detton put the books with the pretty pictures away, reminding himself to ask the people once they woke up if they belonged to their temple, so they could be returned with them.

He raced away, gathering firewood and brush with all the firewood-gathering skills he had developed as a child. He gathered as much as he could before racing back to where the others were and dumping it next to the bodies. Looking them over, he decided they'd need more fuel and took off again to get some more.

Tol'Chuk

For a troll slayer the kill often is nothing more then next....one of many in a deadly career which is many dwarves hope is short and dangerous but will achieve legendary status when they die.....

Like the troll slayer Rasputin who legend says did not just kill trolls, but killed citadels full of trolls and their orc war slaves. It is believed he died in the courtyard of a frost giant....stories abound.

Your instruction is invalueble on that this day as too the handling of the trolls. Don't burn them now they will be back angry and at your camp in the dark.

There is pleny of wood available for use without cutting down trees. If you want logs though you will need to down at least one tree though.

Detton

Well the farm boy has no problem stowing plenty of wood in the center of the battlefield. You put the books in a safe place.

You soon have a large pile of drie wood. Not a bonfire but getting there and good for burning. You need an ax....

Having bound her light wounds. Alonria went to help Detton gather wood for the bonfire as Tol'Chuk had said to do. Tho she didnt have an axe she could help carrie logs, and branches over as well as dry folage for burning.

Shan'do picked up his bow, and kept watch. With all the people off gathering wood, if a monster decided to show up, who would protect the civilians? And, more importantly, who would get their gold?

OOC: LOL srry guys guss I must have missed this..

Rowena looked around and saw that everyone had been tended .. feeling out of sorts she looked for others that needed Tending, after all her goddess blessed her with the ability to heal wounds instantaniously.. It seemed we would need to look for more food and what were we going to do with all these people .. perhaps a few of them could defend themselves..

She went up to one of the captives notices that she herself must have been a cleric of some kind , and then gently asked, "Have you need of any more assistance.. there is a village less than a days walk from here.. if you all rushed you would be able to make it there by nightfall, if you ned any assistence I myself am a servant of the goddess, if you all are tired perhaps it woudl be best to rest together then you all can be on your way to the village this was you will be safe somewhere enclosed."

Aralia held the girl murmuring soft words in her ear of comfort. The poor child had been through so much. Was it true then that her mother was of Aralia's family? She had thought there were none left. That meant this girl was somehow related to her. Gently pulling away just enough for the girl to see her face she placed the necklace in the girls palm along with half of the gold that she had. Enough for the girl to survive an entire year quite comfortably. Softly she spoke to the girl "This money will see you to the remains of the forest where we elves once thrived. There you will find more of our kind in hiding. Don't worry you don't have to find them they will see you miles away. They will recognize your elven blood. Tell them that I sent you my full name is Aralia De'Arnise they will know me. Tell them also that you carry the silver heritage whether you are full blooded or not does not matter. They will take care of you." She hugged the girl "I'm sorry I cannot do more. I will keep an ear out for news of your mother little one. I will find out what happened to her."

Alonria

You find little trouble in gathering up plenty of logs and brush to make a good size fire. You also see more then a few rocks......good for throwing or making a border for the fire. You do realize that this area is well travelled. The path is deep in the earth and all the ground around it is well worn. You should expect only more visitors. Friend of foe is the question....

Shan'do

You keep watch awhile the other prepare the fire and look after one another. Nothing seems to be in the area but for the ususal wildlife which is quick to run away from both site and smell of humans. The day is coming to a close though and darkness will soon aproach.

Roza

You walk to the crowd by this time most of the females are gather up the children into a circle and having them sit down. As you walk into the group many thank you warmly and give you hugs....."the Goddess blesses you," is head many times. A late teen girl seems to be incharge despite her age. Her golden hair is in two long braids to her waist and she is wearing a loose white dress and sandles.

" I am Abelia, our sect chapel was raided three moons ago by these trolls and many others...theykilled all the barbarian mercenaries we ...ah paid to watch the church grounds. many of the children ran to the woods. They threw handfuls of dust at us...I could not raise my sword or throw a fire spell.".....sighs

"I hope there is a chapel to find when we return. May we stay with you for the night and share in food? I promise if you come our sects way again that we will repay you ten fold." See makes a symbol of prayer with her hands then embraces you.....and whispers, "it is not easy for a holy sister to keep the faith is it not?"

Aralia

The girl listens intently to you only gripping you tighter and smiling as you mention more elves in the woods. She happily excepts the pendant from you and the gold but looks sad as you say she should move on....

"Cccan Pasha stay with you? I cook and make bows...and scout..and"..sighs and just hugs you close. She looks back at the women and other children.

"They are very good to me, but they don't like the woods like I do....they are.."she whispers. "Not elves....like mom."

Aralia studied the young girl. She really wasn't a child. More of a young woman. She just hadn't had the proper guidance due to her mothers disapearance. But to take her with her....Aralia thought mulled over the thought. Her quest was quite dangerous. Yet surely there were enough of them to keep one young girl safe. And being elven even if only half elven she would have innate magical abilities. Aralia could teach her the proper spells to keep her safe. Simple enough teleporting out of danger, or defensive sheilds. Aralia never really used them she prefered to fight but they would work well for this young one. Sighing in defeat Aralia held the girls eyes with her own. "You may stay with me then for a little while. But first you must promise a few things. One you will listen to me in everything especially your safety. If I tell you something is to dangerous you will listen to me ok? I will teach you ways to defend yourself but I don't want you rushing into fight anything. Second you must not tell anyone anything we speak of especailly of the silver heritage. I know there is an elf traveling with us but I do not know if he is to be trusted. If you can promise those two things you may travel with me." Aralia face was serious but her eyes held warmth for the young girl as she awaited her answer.

Having helped gather enough brush and branches for the bonfire. Alonria went to help Shan'do stand guard and keep watch, she had noticed that the area they were in was well travled.
Which made sence because they were not all that far from the village yet, so keeping watch would be best, never know who exactly is friend or foe, until they attack, or threaten you.

Shan'do heard Alonria join him keeping watch. He smiled to himself, feeling somewhat more relaxed in her company. "Seems night is coming apon us, and with it the creatures that use the darkness. I fear it may be a cold night, and we may weel be sleeping under the stars"
