Tunnels & Trolls The campaign begins...

It is still early in the season so it is not odd for you to find the place empty. Normally though it the winter is a time where many parties camp out after building up supplies. There is a well in the court yard that still seems in good condition. The garden is over grown though. There are three buildings left standing. The larges is the two story temple with catacomes below and a prayer tower. The two store rooms are only slight smaller and with out towers. They boast the same hardy stone work though. Pagan designs and symbols are all over the borders of the buildings. The main temple building has suffered over many years. The statues of the God and Goddess of the forest long since torn down and the gold picky statues stolen. The oak benches once there have been made into fuel. In the center of the room though looks like a place that has been used a a bonfire many times already. Many adventures in the past have left their marks on the wall. Many symbols of clans and religions as well as many pagan ones in tribute of the past. The compound is walled in on all four sides...though there is a large gap in the wall where the gate used to be securing the compound. A brief search of the compound finds you at the second storeroom has a newly built door and lock. It is open though and you find 5 backpacks around a fire site.....ashes now cold. You find quivers but no bows. Sheaths but no swords...one complete set of plate armor. There are no visiable tacks and other items like food stuffs and compasses are left. Things you would not leave camp with out. Not to mention a full set of tools some boards and nails in the corner. What happen in this place. The rain continues hard.......

"My advice is still the same, the sooner we get up there... the sooner we may die."
He said that as though it were a good thing, and indeed, it was. He had been looking forward to the mountain of trolls, and hoping against hope that he could find a good lot of them, willing to tear him limb from limb... not until he'd taken at least 20 out with him though.
He hadn't care dmuch for the village, or its strange surroundings. After careful look at the fresh troll tracks, he wanted to keep going. They had been here, and not too long ago.
Although, there were no real tracks inside... and with this new campsite, that was ice cold despite so many items left behind.
It was a human problem... as most things were.
If no one was willing to leave, then he'd might as well stay close to the fire, warm, and drink the last of his keg... which had gotten half drained from the trip here now.
He still had a good couple of days left in her though... and he wasn't going to waste it on this dreary day.

OOC: Hey, Long Time Roleplayer, first time user with Literotica Roleplay. If I may, I'd like to ask if I could join in on this roleplay. Err...and if its not too much trouble, where would be the best place to start? I see several places to start, but I don't want to pick some place in which no one will interact with me. Plus, do I post my character sheet inside this forum? I wasn't exactly comprehending that rule at the time. I got confused. So if I could join, it would be an extreme pleasure.

OOC: Kinda the honor system when it comes to characters. Come up with a concept and post it. List what you are.....background and ablities...pocessions as well. Race....description.....etc. all the typical stuff. PM me with questions. This abandon compound is a good place to hop in......just wondering in the mountains. Read past posts to get ideas and learn how things work here.......otherwise I always like to fill another seat at the table.

IC:

The compound is a stopping point to more killing and mayhem. Walking into where the gate used to be you look over your shoulder and can see the tall gray unforgiving mountains where the trolls make their homes. You even catch site of the one that is home to the tribe who stole the relic. Hell you think you can smell the bastards. They have been around. This place could be an impressive defensive works if that was your thing, but your the hunter....the killer of killers.

While examining the empty camp site you do find something curious. A length of chain....broken off in the middle of one link. Doesn't seem to fit with any of the other items in the camp.

Among the items you do find another small kegg of beer. Nothing to impressive as far as taste and is more some home brew of an inn but drinkable to be sure.

Night fall is just hours away though and this is much to do yet. You are in troll country now. The can come at any time. Your very close to completing your mission....

OOC: I'm guessing this is where I come in.

Profileish
Name: Stigma
Age: 23
Species: Neko AKA Catperson
Skills: Stealth is about it, some assassin techniques and CQC(Close Quarters Combat)
Weapons: Ten Kunai and one iron cable-like wire.

IC: Stigma was about 5'4" quite short even for his race. The sound of skittering would send him into a fright. He tries to be a badass, but usually fails to do so. Across his head is a mane of black hair which comes short at his midneck and shivers around nervously when he walks(Blows in the wind). His eyes are a charming green, well, eye should be the correct term. His right eye was covered in an eye patch because of a weapon malfuction. He usually wore black, to keep himself hidden from most dangers.

The compound was near him, but he was hesitant to enter. His long black tail jutted out behind him and swayed in contemplation. He looked as if he were going to pounce on a fresh meal. His eyes narrowed and focused on the objects which stood out to him, a broken chain link on a chain, a small keg of beer, and other assorted and discarded items.

He stood up at erect and arched his back lightly, popping a small kink which annoyed him greatly. "So...what's in there?" his voice came out slightly monotonous, one of his "badass" attempts. His curiousity was also a flaw, which made him nearly ironic in some ways.

He placed a foot on the rock in front of him and sprang forward, cutting the rock loose from it's home inside of the ground. He came down onto the compound swiftly, narrowing his eyes lightly to keep the windchill from making his eyes water. He stamped on the ground and sprang up into the air, only about five feet before coming down onto a pile of rocks and stumbling forward into a clutter of discarded items and such. "....smooth.." he thought as he stumbled up and dusted himself off.

He started to explore the area around him, curious of the compound, he didn't know if a life form would be nearby, but it couldn't hurt to check. He was more curious about the other items lying about, what was of use to him?

Rowena sat at the fire and sighed as she looked out she saw that it was time to do her prayers.. sighed .. she hated doing them in the rain.. she stepped out into the rain and sat out side and waited for the right time.. Closing her eys she began humming soflty then greating the night as it came to pass over her..

Alonria made rounds between keeping watch and warming herself by the fire. Occasionly joining in on the converstaion from time to time. As well as looking at someof the items that were left scattered about.

Prayers and watches are kept as night comes into view. A new creature walks the compound and has yet to introduce himself to the other visitors tot he compound.

The found chain is only part of the mystery of the missing travellars. A wise adventurer knows himself not to be alone. A new one is uneasy.

OOC:

Need to introduce your character stigma. I said you were coming up to the compound. You don't know these people as of yet.

Also please everyone let me know where you are in the compound. This will effect the next actions and findings.

Happy Turkey day to all.....

OOC: My bad, and turkey day doesn't start for hour and a half here.

IC:
Stigma blinked lightly as he heard the sounds of voices, whispering, and then several other voices. He placed himself against a peice of debris to mask himself from the view of the figures. They were either humans, something nice, or something bad. He peeked out and looked at the people, his green eyes took in the darkened sights, but his eyes adjusted quickly.

They looked normal enough. Slowly he crept out and then stood up right. He glanced from left to right, 'how many were there?' he thought. Finally, before he seemed stupid, he spoke out, "Excuse me, but..." was all he could really say. He took a long gulp before raising a hand behind his ears and scratching gently, "ummm...what to say...uh, Hi?"

Rowena picked herself up from her prayers and as she heading into the compound she saw a stranger calling out to them.. she walked towards the new commer, "Hello.. is there something I can help you with?"

Stigma coughed into his hand, looking to the woman who had just addressed him. Working over his nervous impressions, he answered "I was just wondering...if I may stay here for the night? I won't be a bother and I'll stand guard all night if you wish." His black cat ears twitched and then folded back onto his head, thinking he caused an odd presence about himself already.

Rowena smiled and her green looked towards the stranger, "Your welcome to come camp with us .. its not much but Im sure you would like to get out of the rain just as badly as i do" She pulled the robe she was wearing off her so it wouldnt cling to her body ..

"Come I will take you to the others .." She headed towards the building that the group had made camp, "Dont worry you can take watch with me .."

Stigma bowed his head in gratitude, continuing to say, "Thank you thank you." A soft line of blush came over his face before he slowly moved towards the new person he had met. He might as well get acquainted, as he followed her, he asked, "If it's not too much to ask, what is your name?"

Innocently Rowena smiled at the newcommer, it was obvious to her he seemed a little nervous to be in the open, "Oh course you may I am Rowena and you are?" She smiled and bent low as if to greet him in court..

Stigma looked at the way she bowed and smiled in response, bowing as well, but a little less formal, since he didnt have much posture, "My name is Stigma, it's nice to meet you Rowena." He chuckled a bit, conversations with him usually started in, "who the hell are you?" and "What are you doing in my house?" but this was different he guessed. "I suppose I should meet the others as well?" he questioned.

Rowena smiled again and then nodded towards the direction of the building with the roaring fire... "Stigma.. what an unusual name... where does it come from ?" she said as she walked towards the building..

this stranger was obviously not of a norm race..it was fascinating .. perhaps a something...

OCC: sorry i have not been posting but my collage schedule is getting a little crazy. may i come in now instead.:D

Stigma looked in the direction of the building and nodded his head. With a quick reaction, he started to follow, trying to move briskly instead of tripping like he usually did. "My name, where does it come from?" He chuckled lightly and shook his head, "I have no idea actually, I spent most of my life with my step dad who doesn't look a thing like me, he said my mom was a slut who slept with a cat." He shrugged his shoulders and continued following, "What about you? Where does your name originate? It sounds Elvish to me, or am I mistaken?"

Rowena laughed slightly, "oh darling, that was sweet .. Perhaps my name comes from there who knows.. IT was the name given to me by the Temple.. I was left there.. When i was born.."

Giving Stigma a closer look she realixed what he meant when his mother slept with a cat, "My you have a colorful family.. Your lucky you know.. I wish I knew.... "Quickly changin the cubject she continued," What are you doing around here?"

Stigma smiled, listening to Rowena speak, "Interesting, thats sort of what might have happened to me. I didn't know my mom much, I got in contact with her a few times before I reached 18 years."

He paused a moment, wondering what she was about to say, and then stuttered a bit at her questions as to what he was doing out here, "Oh, no reason really, just exploring." He tried to keep his true nature hidden at least, it wasn't harmful, just he didn't like stating his business alot. "What about you? Do you have some 'magical quest?'"

Detton

Detton had quietly umm, followed everyone else, and, as soon as he found a suitable place, he went to sleep. He left the worrying about depraved monsters and ravaging trolls to the others.

But he was still there.

Rowena looked at Stigma and smiled, "You might say that its more of a religious quest .. I go to the mountains to retrieve a book or religious text... it has been stolen you might say.."

She knew he didnt wish to tell her his true reasons for comming out this way .. one thing was obvious of course.. if you wished to come this way .. you were looking for something .. It would come out in due time .. all things reveal themselves that way she had learned that the hard way ..

Stigma laughed a bit, "A book you say? Interesting, Does this book happen to be a remdition of the Tomes? Its a sacred book telling about a Messiah coming and purging everyones souls of evil spirits and sins."

He turned around and shrugged his shoulders, "But those are complete myth I would say. I'm not too beant on religion, sorry if I'm acting like a jerk." He frowned a bit and turned back around, "I'm actually...no I'll tell you when we get there."

It wasn't that difficult to find a nice lonely little abandoned building and nestle in with his lasting keg of ale.

As Rowena and Stigma chat inside the compound a dark entity prowls the shadows of the compound. It hunts for prey and has not fear of even the most able warriors of blades and magic. It is a hunter and it owns the shadows.

Detton quitely sleeps head on his pack and bed roll over him with a lighted fire not far away. The extra padding of a missing adventure's bedroll is conforting in his slumber.

He is caughty completely off guard when a magic battle chain (you don't know what it is) wraps around your ankles and cavs...so tightly that your woken by the pain. Next your dragged to the middle of the room and halled into the air. You hang upside down from the chain staring at the ground swing in the air. Another chain drops next to you and a hideous creature comes down the chain.

It is pale and looks like zombie but for the glowing red eyes and "armor" made of skeleton bones all over his body... as well as chains.....dozens wrapped all around his body. A long clawed had is revealed and it swings at Detton and misses.

As Tol'Chuk looks over the keg he witnesses this bizare scene unfold. Perhaps the creature did not see him as it is only feet away from him and only concern with dealig with Detton.

Perhaps this is where the other party went......?
