Today I had the results of my latest scan. Bad news and some good news.

Bad news: The lung cancer is back.

Good news: It hasn't gone beyond the lungs. If it starts to spread - that's the end.

I start my fourth but different chemotherapy shortly. I can't reapeat the previous three - I've reached my limit of those and the fact that the cancer is back shows they are no longer likely to be effective.

But it looks as if I have several more months at least - longer if the new treatment works.

Thanks for all the good wishes. I didn't expect to here for 2023 (or 2022, 2021, 2020...) But here I am, not dead yet.

I'll try to keep the grim reaper at bay, but surviving 2023 might be asking too much. We'll see.

But -

Last weekend one of my friends died. He was apparently in good health, in his early 60s. His wife woke up to hear him making odd noises beside her. She rang for an ambulance which came quickly (a miracle nowadays) but he was dead. There will be a post mortem but a stroke is assumed.

So many of my younger friends and relations are dropping like flies, whereas I who have far worse medical status, just keep going and going...

Not long ago I had over half a dozen male cousins, I have one left now, all have passed at a younger age than I am now, and I've got several medical conditions that raise a doctor's eyebrows. "You have what? And you're still here?" Let's keep 'em guessing ogg, I've never played by the rules before, why start now?

Yep, I got a medical death sentence at 11 and then again at 17, and I'm now 76.
