Thanks to AA for keeping everyone informed of what is going on with Toni and Daniel. This shows what friendship really is. Toni was one of the first people to communicate with me when I first found Lit. She IS a sweetheart. She may not remember me, but I remember her. I hope for the best for her and her son.
I am an epilleptic. I understand what is happening. For a child of 13 this has to be frightening. The only good thing about seizures is that an epilleptic usuallydoesn't know or remember that they had one. It's the reactions of those around you that freak you out. Hopefully, once this is over, there will never be anymore seizures again. It just breaks your heart when such a young child is involved. I don't usually go to the Playground, but I will until I hear good news about the two of them.

AA.....Thank you for the update!!

I really had no idea it had gotten to this point. I will most definately keep both Toni and Daniel in my prayers. Toni, I know you probably won't see this but hang in there sweetie. I know what it's like to have one of your own ill, and the helplessness that goes with it. I've heard people say there is a special God for children....and after spending a few years working at Childrens Hospital here in Wisconsin I have to believe that!! It's amazing at what these kids can endure, and overcome. The courage they have shown, along with thier resiliency was truly remarkable!! I know, I've seen it over and over. I'm sure Daniel is getting the best care possible and will be home with you soon. You 2 will remain in my heart, and in my prayers.

Well said, my friend! I couldn't agree more. A mother's love is something that cannot be put into words. Toni is showing what it is every day.

I have always admired Toni in her everyday life with managing work, all of Daniel's activities, time with her Dad, (time with us), and being the best and most supportive friend here. I am so happy that Toni's friends are just as solid for her and never letting her forget how special she is to all of us as well. Toni, you are in my heart, my thoughts, and my prayers every day as you always have been and always will be.

Hey gang...been out of cellular range all weekend, but just got an excellent voicemail from Toni. Here's the scoop--Daniel was moved from ICU to a private room last Tuesday and had a rough couple of days. Now he has stabilized, no more seizures since Thursday, PLUS he has begun speaking again (woohoo!), and the doctors are pleased with his progress. Toni said that he will still be in the hospital for approximately a month yet, then will be in Baylor University's rehab for an unspecified amount of time. He is over the worst of it--now the long rehab process begins--for both son and mom.

If anybody is interested, I do have the phone number at the hospital for his room and she said it is OK to call. He is on the 7th floor of a childrens hospital (in Dallas, I believe). I won't post the number or full name here, but will do so via PM. (May be out of town for a few days, so be patient with the answers.) she said to say thanks for all the good wishes and prayers...and to continue, because they will need all the strength they can get!

Thanks for bringing us such wonderful news!

I am so grateful for all the blessings. The road to recovery is paved with love and prayers from all who care, so Daniel should have no problem in his recovery. We will be with them every step of the way. Toni is such an awesome Mom, friend, and human being.
