We got an email from toni today!!!!!
Daniel is doing so well that they moved him out of the hospital to the
childrens house at Baylors university. I think that is kind of like a ronald
mcdonald house. However, he is still having problems with his memory and they found blood clots in his legs. He must be doing well,before they found the blood clots,he was having fun wheeling around in a wheelchair.
She said to thank everyone so much for their continued good thoughts and prayers. She also said to send her love everyone and to tell everyone
thank you.
She now even has access to a pc with internet and can access her email
account. Things are looking up but they still got a ways to go. Keep praying and sending good thoughts for my friend,please!!!

Just adding to the report
I also got an email and it is almost the same as what has been reported but thought I would give it to you in her words. She asked me to post this as she doesn't have the time to write to everyone... so here goes...
So here are her emails......
Daniel is doing so well that they transferred us to Our Children's House at Baylor. It is a rehabilitation that is a home like setting. It is a hospital but it is in an old victorian type house and it is nice. I am not sure how long we will be here. I have access to the internet here and also my email. I had access to the internet but not the email accounts at Children's. I have a direct phone line to our room, there is another little boy in there, not private. But it is still nice.
Daniel is a little bummed. They found 2 blood clots in his legs yesterday and he is banned to bed, except for showers. But they started him on some meds last night so hopefully it won't be for long! Please tell everyone thank you for their prayers and thoughts and just pass my emails to the Tree Huggers... Thanks again!

Was away for the weekend and didn't get the email until now....here it is for anyone interested (I know the gist was already posted) AA
Hey! Daniel was doing so well that they moved us to Our Children's House at Baylor 2 weeks early. I am not sure how long we will be here. We came here Wed,June 15, his 13th birthday! We mostly just got settled in that day and then yesterday the doctors and therapists started to come around and assess him. The doctor (McDonald, like Ronald or the old farmer is what he tells them!) ordered a ultrasound on his legs to see if he had a blood clot that could be causing his feet to swell. Well they found 2. So now he is back in bed and cannot get up except to be taken for a shower. He was a little upset since he had just got a wheel chair and could cruise around. He did get one tour of the place before being banned to the bed again! lol. He is doing very well. His memory is not real good. He is starting to remember who ppl are and some of the family. He cannot remember who comes to see him, etc.. sometimes he cannot remember what he ate after the meal is done. Well I gotta go for now. I think we are taking him to the shower soon. Please thank everyone for the prayers and know that I appreciate everyone. I now have access to the internet and my email account. I had internet access at Children's Medical Center but could not access our email accounts, maybe they were afraid of viruses, not sure. Take care and send my love to all!

When I read this it makes my problems seem insignificant by comparison. I've got some years left, but have lived a full life if I went now. For a youngster to suffer such is humbling.

Doing pretty good! He is doing great. He walked up a flight of stairs and back down twice yesterday. He is walking well with the walker. He says his muscles and his joints are sore and hurt. His upper strength is better than the lower. He had a couple of blood clots and had to not walk over the weekend. His memory is still fuzzy especially short term memory. He gets confused and sometimes looks at me when he is trying to say something he will look at me and say what am I trying to say? Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts. Give my love to everyone. We are going to a care conference later to see how the drs. and therapists, etc...think the projected day to go home will be. I will try to update you and others later after finding out what they think. He is at what they call day camp right now, they said it is like school sort of. Then he has OT at 11:00 and PT at 11:30. He will have lunch and then PT again at 1:30. So far he does not have anything else scheduled for today. However, sometimes some will come and get him and ask if he wants/can go do something else. This morning he did not have anything scheduled for this morning and the nurse came in and said, "Mom we have him scheduled for day camp this morning at 9!" Well, needless to say we had to make sure that he got breakfast, brushed teeth, etc.. Luckily, we had got his shower last night. He is anxious to go home but at the same time, he wants to pace himself and make sure that he is ok and gets as much as possible done and ready before going home. We discussed how soon he thinks it will be before he can go home he said, no sooner than the middle of July and possibly first of Aug. So we will see how close he comes to what they think. Take care. I had no idea that sleep apnea was this dangerous! As always, my continued prayers and love go out to Toni & Daniel

Sleep apnea is very dangerous if not treated properly it can cause someone to die I have sleep apnea and stop breathing for minutes at a time I have a bi-pap mmechine that helps me breath through out the night.
