What Are You Listening to Now 7.0

Well, no surprise the Ukraine won. I'm amazed Spain got that many jury points (to misquote Meghan Trainor: "It was all about that ass") and seeing the massive bump Moldova got showed that party music was in higher demand than "message" songs. Sorry Australia and Netherlands.

I predicted that Germany would be dead last and even though I lost my bet on the "dead last with 0 points" I can't help but feel untold amounts of schadenfreude. Electric Callboy would have rocked the house without causing contact embarrassment. Looking forward to tomorrow's newsfeed.

Indeed. I thought France and Lithuania deserved to do better than they did. I still don't quite get the popularity of the UK entry, but it was fun seeing the confusion among my UK friends.

And the Ukrainian entrants are back to the front lines on Monday. It's a funny old world.

Love learning about the rich history of the sport of professional wrestling.

There is nobody on earth better than the GOAT Manager and Historian, James E. Cornette.

Deluge Grander : Lunarians

Deluge Grander's music is always very sophisticated.

Not for everyone, but undeniably good - IMO. That said - Lunarians is more approachable than the rest of their catalog.

Judicator - The Last Emperor

Blind Guardian-inspired power metal. Rather nice. The follow up "Let There Be Nothing" cribs too much from modern-day Guardian, with their infinite layers of vocals, so it's a step down in my book. Still, good stuff.

Panta Rhei : Peer Gynt Suite

I.e. Grieg's music played with rock instrumentation. Very elegantly done!

Spock's Beard : Noise Floor
- Disc 1 - Noise Floor
- Disc 2 - Cutting Room Floor

The jury's still out on this one...

Stigmata : All Things Impious

Weird! (In a good way, but I suspect it isn't for everyone.)

Tonight, I'm just listening to distant thunder. It's kind of soothing, we haven't had rain for a while.

I’ve been listening to three albums that make an appearance in a story I’ve just finished writing (pending revisions based on feedback):

F♯ A♯ ∞ by Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Horses by Patti Smith
Colossal Youth by Young Marble Giants
