What Are You Listening to Now 7.0

Error - The Warning

3 sisters from Mexico
Pretty cool rock, if fairly linear

Worth a listen

Peter, Paul, and Mary Don't Think Twice, it's alight, Amy Stewart Knock on Wood, Britney Spears Crazy (you drive me crazy), Wings Blue Moon of Kentucky, Culture Club Miss Me Blind, Percy Sledge When a Man Loves a Woman, Bruce Springsteen Dancing in the Dark ...

Chthonic - Supreme Pain For The Tyrant

Metal from Taiwan, of all places. They do love their Cradle Of Filth influences, but to reduce them to a copycat would be grossly unfair. Instead of writing horror stories involving all kinds of supernatural or man-made cruelties, Chthonic are proud Taiwanese and fight for their country's independence, not only by showing the rest of the world bits from their history in their lyrics, but by being involved in politics as well. Considering the current political climate, that's a scary proposition and I have nothing but respect for them.

I went down a long road with this last night. Learned to play the song so I could make it my own

Lindsey Buckingham Go Insane, Don McLean American Pie, The Buckinghams (no relation to Lindsey) Hey Baby, Jets Rock 2 U, Jon Secada Just Another Day, The Beatles I Feel Fine, Laura Branigan The Lucky One, Hollies Carrie Anne, Eagles I Can't Tell You Why, Peter Noone There's a Kind of Hush!

Right now, I'm sitting in silence. However, the last song I listened to was Los Ageless by St. Vincent.

This just popped up on YouTube for me. I originally saw it back when it came out in mid 2020 - before the vaccines did (which is relevant to some of the lyrics):
It was a funny way back then to try and get people to stop being insane and stay safe.

And there was a follow up in September of 2020 that was equally funny - and this one is still relevant:

Looks like this musician is still out there making silly parodies, but he's moved on to random subjects. I don't recognize the tune this one comes from:

What was it? (It says it's unavailable, at least for me)
Finntroll, "Can You Forgive Her?" (Pet Shop Boys cover)

It's hard to be sure of the lyrics they're singing, but I think they changed "because you dance to disco and you don't like rock" to "...and you don't like to mosh". I hope I heard that right!

Such a damn good pop song from a band that didn’t get nearly enough attention when they were around. The harmonies kill me every time.

If you start with this:

or this:

In, only a few hundred years, you can achieve this:

and this:

I’m rather fond of both ancient and modern.

For fans of the Orville who kept noticing that Gordon seemed to pop out a guitar and sing for the group every time they had a pause in a scene... ;)

That's from 2007.
