What Are You Listening to Now 7.0

Yes, as I mentioned, BOTH Woody Guthrie songs I cited were based on real events. Here's the other: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deportee_(Plane_Wreck_at_Los_Gatos)
That is also an incident I did not know about. "The Sinking of the Reuben James:" the brother of my late father-in-law as killed in that. Their sister even claimed that she saw the guy around the moment of his death, although she was in West Virginia I think. Who knows? There is further strangeness about that incident I won't get into now.

Voyager - A Voyage Through Time (live)

Eurovision was a great excuse to revisit this amazing band. I own three of their albums (V, Ghost Mile and Colors in the Sun) and went through amazon to see what else they've released since 2019.

This live album is an absolute treat. Fantastic, clean yet powerful sound and a band so down to earth, I want to reach through the speakers and cuddle them. They make prog sound effortless and easy! The musician in me is green with envy as I bang my head. Here's my all-time fave of theirs:

Is there any other way?
No, no there's not...LOL I have a reason, though. I live in a duplex with fairly thin walls and I can hear the couple next door screaming at each other again. So when that happens I just hit "play" on a Motörhead playlist and drown them out until they stop.

Stand up straight at the foot of your love
I lift my shirt up
Stand up straight at the foot of your love
I lift my shirt up
I was carried to Ohio in a swarm of bees
The National. Yes.
Be still for a second while I try and try to pin your flowers on
La, la, la, la, la
Can you carry my drink, I have everything else
I can tie my tie all by myself
I'm getting tied, I'm forgetting why
The National again. Fun guy vids, early on. Not so much now that the gals are starting to run things. Matt seems subby.
Hey, where did we go?
Days when the rains came
Down in the hollow
Playin' a new game
Laughin' and a-runnin', hey, hey
Van Morrison.
Snow can wait, I forgot my mittens
Wipe my nose, get my new boots on
I get a little warm in my heart when I think of winter
I put my hand in my father's glove
I run off where the drifts get deeper
Tori Amos. I didn't know that one; lucky guess.
Baby, I know pain is as natural as the rain
I just thought it didn't rain in California
Baby, I know love isn't what I thought it was
'Cause I've never known a love like this before ya
Baby, I know dreams tend to crumble at extremes
Vampire Weekend. Double extra bonus ditto. Lots more Vampire Weekend (and Tori Amos) too, it seems. I've heard of 'em but don't know their music. You could just link to a vid so you wouldn't make one of us compulsives dive deep, you know?

You are most welcome! Their song "Hate" grabs you right by the throat and throws you around. And you'll love ever second of it...LOL

Always happy to come by female fronted rock groups. In this case, an all female group in general? Very nice.

I'll see your Plush and raise you Ad Infinitum. 😌

As for female-fronted rock groups, I gotta go back to last year:
Bam Bam is amazing. Fronted by (and everything else, in a most unexpected place) a black woman: Tina Bell. Matt Cameron (!) was her drummer, before Soundgarden and Pearl Jam !

Ya gotta like energy in your music to like hers, but I always have. Ten thumbs up! (I'll all thumbs.)

More badass ladies for my Femme Front playlist. Thank you so much MetaBob!

I’m honestly kind of sad I haven’t heard of Tina Bell up until this point—shameful, I’ve been missing out!

I didn't hear of Tina Bell until last year, despite living so close. I was astonished. So much great art (there always is), so little time and attention (there never is), and only a few things get noticed, even when other things get noticed.
