What Are You Listening to Now 7.0

Mutual Isolation

Burnt Beliefs

new release by the duo of Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree bassist) and guitarist/keyboardist Jon Durant

Wiki says last studio album 2016, but an EP "The Roadside" last month - maybe what EB heard? I think I recall YT offering me a video for a new Idol song pretty recently.
Must have been off the EP - the DJ announced it as a new release.

EDIT - I see that BJ checked it out.

So, there WILL be a new album and this is a taste from it. Cool.

Yep, album comes out June 24th. They are going on tour in support

They are now a three piece without Colin Edwin on bass. Lot of speculation on who is playing bass and who will tour on bass.

Several options. I think Wilson plays the bass on the album. On his solo work Wilson would play the bass to show Nick Beggs what he wanted and Beggs replicated, and of course Beggs has been his touring bassist all these years. Beggs could have played on the album.
Another option for touring is the 'fifth' touring member of Porcupine Tree John Wesley could play either guitar or bass while Wilson does the other.

on this new track the bass is played with a pick - that is much more Wilson than Begg's style.

I know on their last time together, 2009's The Incident, Wilson and Edwin were disagreeing a lot.

Officially they are a trio now, but at least back to playing after twelve years. Woo hoo!

Jimmy Smith _ The Cat

I reckon that this is one seriously special album.
Grady Tate (Drums), Kenny Burrell (Guitar) and the involvement of Lalo Schiffrin just tops it all off.

The Sardaukar chant from the Dune 2021 movie on an hour-long loop while I make dinner.

This is so centering and Zen... 🙃

Impressive job! Loved the purple/pink part with the car in the rain - the music and visuals locked together beautifully.

Thank you. I might go back and ditch the glitchy mess in the beginning. It was a learning experience - and honestly something I'm not too keen on repeating. Video editing is an even bigger pain in the ass than running multitrack audio.

Made me think of the long car sequence in Tarkovsky's Solaris, which isn't a bad piece of connectivity at all.

But for me, this music - close my eyes and go with music alone, is far more effective. Good job, BJ.

The Sun King

Band of Rain

New release with Jon Camp on bass. Camp was the first bassist that blew my mind at what can be done with the instrument. He was the original bassist and male vocalist for Renaissance.

Thank you, EB, and Haulover too.

We have six new songs done for our full-length, with three more in different stages of completion. I'll let you know when we're done. If anyone knows a graphic artist willing to make artwork, point them my way.
