What Are You Listening to Now 7.0

Eos

Eldritch

Update: fun! Last song is a pretty straight cover of Bon Jovi's "Runaway." Neat to hear an Italian power metal band play 80s pop.

Meh-

Sad, because I love a lot of his back-catalog albums. I've seen him live. Stunning performance.

Nightwish : Human : II: Nature

Interesting, and different! Played in the background while I was working - but it will get closer attention this week.

The Nativity Carol - The Choir of King's College, Cambridge
Lullay Myn Lyking - The Choir of King's College, Cambridge

'Myn Lyking'; a beautiful carol sung in Middle English. The young chorister boys' soprano voices are just the most beautiful choral sound I ever heard. Brought tears to my eyes.

Parts of this are like Nightwish-lite. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Much of it (esp. the 2nd CD) are not at all like Nightwish!

My husband playing something loud and angry and angsty by Liszt - when he has a bad day in OR he takes it out on the piano, and he had a truly shitty day today, so now I'm listening to all those angry scales and crashing minor key chord progressions shake the house and making the dogs hide under the pool loungers...

Big World - Joe Jackson
Jumpin' Jive - Joe Jackson
Wildflowers - Tom Petty

I am such a fan of Jon Camp.
When I first heard him with Renaissance his playing just completely blew me away giving me a whole new appreciation of the bass. Here forty years later he still sounds incredible.
