What Are You Listening to Now 7.0

MrPixel. You must have the right version of this magical piece.
I commend you try this one; it's so good it's almost ethereal.

Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, by Ralph Vaughn Williams

I agree. I have enjoyed that one previously.

There is something magical about performing in cathedrals. I had the opportunity once with a small ensemble, on oboe this occasion, and it was an out-of-body experience. Fingers were not under my conscious control at all, the music was happening in spite of me.

...
@Haulover: I'm not exactly set on fire by Johansons post-"Gothic Kabbalah" output, but one thing's for certain: It's anything but boring.

Also: Guys, guys, you know who's singing on the new Star One? Russell effing Allen! And I thought their friendship had died. I mean, around the time Ayreon Universe was a thing I sent a mail to Arjen and asked about his synths and if there was any chance of a new Star One album and from the way he very carefully phrased that he and Allen "won't be working together from now on" it seemed hell would freeze over before they'd collab again. What's next? The Norlanders on the next Ayreon?

https://www.progressiveears.org/forum/images/smilies/rofl.gif I promise, that will never happen! (I've spoken to Erik and Lana) https://www.progressiveears.org/forum/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Words fail...truly

Although I have to say, you'd have to take a long day's hike to find a nicer guy than Dave Grohl; I saw a clip of him with his young daughter (Violet?) on stage, she was singing an Adele song and he was just
grinning like a complete goof, cool rock-dude icon was gone and kindergarten dad had taken over and it was the sweetest thing

There's footage out there of him pausing a concert when he noticed one of the younger fans was struggling, and getting the kid up on stage so he could have a good time. His music mostly isn't quite my thing, but all I've seen of him as a person is lovely.

In an odd synchronicity here, Symphony No. 5 (Bernstein NYPO 1959)

It's a bit outside my usual taste, but I'm loving it. I looked for it because it's mentioned in something I'm reading right now.
